    I lost my father when I was 12. I think and talk about him all the time. I marvel at how mature he was and how well he parented, especially considering he was 39 when he died. No matter how much time we have with our loved ones, it feels like its not enough. I've learned to cherish every day and every loved one. BTW, they sell ricotta cheese this way in SOUTH FL - whodda thunk it?!!! Its delicious.❤❤❤❤❤

      I’m realizing more and more that the memory never truly fades. Just morphs. Glad to hear about the ricotta actually making it down south. Thanks Sue!!

    Sorry for your loss and it is good to have you back. I grew up eating this style of lasagna. The layering of the cheese "sauce" with the meat sauce creates an astonishing mouth feel. Thanks for another great lesson.

    Glad you're back and putting out great videos. We have evolved into using baked/roasted eggplant rather than pasta or meat in our lasagna. Love the umami meaty flavors of roasted eggplant. Crazy looking ricotta. We have trouble getting decent ricotta in Myrtle Beach. As a change up will try some cinnamon.

    Wow, I haven't made lasagna in years. More recently I have purchased Stouffer's, which is not really lasagna, but a failed imitation of what someone who never ate true lasagna thought it might be. I was ashamed of it and very happy that I had not made it.
    Tradition is very important. There is no tradition in my family. No recipes passed down from anyone. There were no decent cooks in my family. In fact, I've often wondered how I survived my mother's efforts at cooking. Remember casseroles? Those wretched baked dishes of elbow macaroni and ground beef, well, shh. Let's not get those started again. Maybe my mother was worse at cooking then I knew.
    Lasagna is a wonderful dish and when prepared right could possibly be food for the gods. This recipe could be it! It sounds amazing. Also, lasagna freezes well, if you ever have any leftovers! Lol, is that even possible?
    Thank you for passing this recipe along. I hope lots of people try it! 💕💕💕

    I hope the circumstances surrounding your Dad's passing were peaceful. Regardless, one is never ready to say goodbye, and pain, sadness, and resignation need time to ease. May pleasant memories sustain you and your family.
    Thank you for this beautiful lasagna recipe. Creating in the kitchen can be very therapeutic.

    What is a pork alternative to the spicy sausage

    • @AwareHouseChef
      @AwareHouseChef  10 місяців тому +2

      Meat wise? I think you might get away with turkey sausage. You can also add more beef and kick it up with a little Italian spice and hot sauce. All the best!
