    I’ve been drinking Habas tea for the past two years. It was tough for me because I was a huge coffee drinker but after I look back now and watch this video, I realize I made a wise choice.

    Very interesting. I'm nearly 70 y.o. and have been ill only 3 times in the past 35 years. But I don't know why. When I was in practice as a dentist, I washed my hands at least 100 times a day. I still wash my hands frequently but not anywhere close to what I was doing before. As I get older, getting seriously ill is something I want to avoid "like the plague!" I was drinking pomegranate juice daily, but that is really expensive. I may try this after doing my own research to make sure it is safe FOR ME. Thank you for including the links for purchasing these ingredients!!

      Sounds like a wonderful addition. I bet it marries well with the fact that hibiscus is a flower. Good suggestion!

    Hey chef, I want to make a vegetable soup with onions, peas, garlic, carrots and mushrooms using bone broth. Should I cook the vegetables first a bit before I cook them in broth. Or should I cook them in broth from beginning. Also should I cook everything in water then ad broth. I want to make soup from scratch. Thanks about the info about Hibiscus tea. I get allot different Japanese green teas from Harney & Sons tea shop on Broome street in Soho NYC. They have over 400 loose teas. I was in there on Friday, and I noticed on there tea menu under the herbal teas, Hibiscus with ginger. I’m going to try it out next time I go. You get one free tea tasting from menu. Green tea, and Oolong is also good for lowering blood pressure. They have a website. I’m a big tea drinker, and I tell people all the time, you must steep different teas for different times. All green teas only steep for three minutes, and a few for only two. Black tea steeps for five minutes. I’ve tried hibiscus tea before and liked it. I prefer loose tea to tea bags. I use a tea ball. People don’t realize the health benefits of tea especially green tea. I like the Japanese ones cause the have more flavor.

      Hi! Thanks for reaching out! I like to sauté the onions carrots and finally the mushrooms until they wilt in a little olive oil in the beginning and then add the broth. I add the peas towards the end. Let me know how you like the hibiscus. All the best!

      @@AwareHouseChef oh wow, thanks I thought I should sauté everything first then add the Pacific Bone broth. Simmer it for awhile to soften everything then add the frozen peas.

      @@AwareHouseChef Hey Chef, made the soup. Came out really nice, after simmering for an hour. Couldn’t add peas though. Didn’t realize it but, I got the bag you steam in the microwave. Those were the only ones I could find. I used 1 organic red onion, organic carrots 2 chopped up in small pieces. I also used two cloves of organic garlic, and baby Bella mushrooms. Organic unsalted chicken bone broth. I just added a little Celtic sea salt.

    I make a concentrated hibicus tea (60grams flowers/32oz boiling water) that stores in the frig. I then dilute it 1 part tea 8 parts cold water and then carbonate it as needed. The blossoms can be re-steeped a couple more times, but will need a different dilution rate.
    My cheapest source of jamaica is in a 5 pound bag at Restaurant Depot
    Has anyone tried iced gunpowder green tea?

    • @stewboli9749
      @stewboli9749 5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, It's with the big bags of dried chili peppers. It's listed as jamaica. It's not organic and the price has gone up from $4/lb to $6/lb in four years, but it's good and it cheaper than anywhere else.@@AwareHouseChef
