    Hello, I know it's been a while since you made this video, but I would like to know what app are you using for gps, and if you plan to stop-refuel at the gas stations before starting the trip, or you look for them once you reach X km while riding. Thank you and good video!

      Hi, the app I use is called “Navigation” by a company named MyRoute-App. They have 2 different applications, one to plan the routes or import existing files, and a separate one for actual navigation.
      I didn’t plan fuel stops. I just kept riding and refueled every 100 - 120km or so. There are plenty of gasstations so no problem there.
      Thank you for liking, and safe travels.

    What color are the Goldtop bobber gloves? Currently their website does not list this particular color; maybe I could make a request of them Progressive 412 shocks make all the difference.

      Those are the waxed tan bobber gloves.

    Fantastic journey thanks for sharing, I pick up my white ‘20MY forty eight special in 2 weeks time - would love to do a trip like this. I’d probably take giant loop gas bag or some fuel canisters to de-risk

      Thank you, and congrats on your purchase. The 48 is a very fun bike. If you’ll love it even half as much as I did, you’ll be fine.

    Hello sir, nice trip, I'm about to leave in 10 days to go all the way from Italy to Portugal through côté de Azur. My stupid question is. What do you do with your staff when you want to go to a restaurant or some place besides your camp area?

    • @smirnaft
      @smirnaft  3 роки тому

      Good question. I found that to be the biggest drawback of soft luggage. I always try to make sure I have the bike in sight. I never leave the bike without my wallet or phone and I have only one roll-bag that is filled with clothing and camping gear. No valuables or personal stuff. The second bag is a backpack that I can easily take with me whenever I need to make a stop and leave the bike behind.
      But in reality I didn’t even bother taking the backpack of in a lot of cases.
      It al depends on the location you’re parked. But you’ll be fine, if I can do it anyone can 😅
      I wish you the best of luck on your road trip.

      @@smirnaft thank you very much for the insight, that's what I'm thinking, to leave a bag only with clothes at the bike but still I'm a little bit anxious about it. Thanks for replying and for the wishes. Good travels to you too

    Nice trip man question for you I’m thinking of getting this bike 2nd hand if you took it on a road trip and we’re doing mostly 110 kms an hour would it be super uncomfortable.

    • @smirnaft
      @smirnaft  3 роки тому +1

      No it wouldn’t be uncomfortable. It will run smoothly at those speeds, no issues.

    I have the same bike, how do you feel with the standard suspension? I think there are too hard especially where the road is not in good condition.

    • @smirnaft
      @smirnaft  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, you are right, when the roads are in bad condition it is not the most comfortable ride. But I don’t mind. For me it is just part of the fun and I can still ride all day long with a smile on my face.
      In my opinion the suspension itself is just fine, but the sportster is limited with its suspension travel. You’ll need taller progressive shocks if you really want to be more comfortable in multiple road conditions.

    • @abaimapoma
      @abaimapoma 4 роки тому +1

      @@smirnaft yes you are right, now I’m searching for a better suspensions on internet and I found: progressive, bitubo (Italian company) and Öhlins obviously. But the key is to buy higher suspensions 😁
