    I purchased a complete direct drive kit from this company and put it together over the last week. I started riding yesterday and cannot express how happy I am with the purchase. This board exceeded all my expectations. It is soooo fast! I cannot ride past mode 2. I live in a small town north of Dallas Texas and was riding it around town when I decided to buzz past a baseball tournament. The entire game stopped to watch me ride. It's not like riding a skateboard; it's more like a snowboard with unlimited trails, no lift lines, and no cold. Wow, the build was really easy, almost plug and play. So fun! Did I mention I'm turning 55 next month.

    I turned my traditional skateboard in to a mountain board by mounting the trucks to the nose. Definitely lighter and easier to send it.

    Hey Mike!
    I think it would be awesome if you guys offered decks on your site! I get that they would be more annoying to deal with and ship. But, I just recently bought a Revel kit and I was struggling to try to find a nice looking longboard deck (either like the vanguard, which I ended up getting, or a drop thru without the drop thru). I think you could make a pretty penny if you had a line of decks with varying shapes and flexibleness. You definitely would have had my business. I want to DIY a board in the near future too. So, if you get decks you really could be my one-stop-shop for everything I would need for the board itself.
    Now I have no idea what that would take from a business standpoint for you. That may even be impossible. But, it would be cool for sure!

    Sorry this has nothing to do with this video, but what wheels would you recommend putting on a 27 inch cruiser deck with a kick tail similar to the size of nickel board for a direct drive DIY? I just plan on using it for college and just cruising from class to class. I ask this because I’ve never bought skateboard wheels in my life, if you could help me out that’d be great! Budget doesn’t matter, just give me a relative size and durometer level you think will do well and ill take it from there, btw the sidewalks at my school are not the best! Thanks!

    Do you have to use a special type of truck to accommodate the pully gear ⚙️ that goes on the wheel ?

    • @MBoardsco
      @MBoardsco  3 роки тому +1

      It depends on the gear. Many of them will hang over the hanger allowing for a normal sized axle.

    How come eskate companies havent adopted the removeable/interchangeable battery system on their boards? Seems like the obvious play, people would definitely purchase extra batteries to extend their range by quickly switching the battery within a second or two on a long range ride.

    • @MBoardsco
      @MBoardsco  4 роки тому +1

      It’s definitely a great idea that a few have done in the past, would love to do something like this in the future. Just a little bit tricky getting a battery case with integrated connector that can snap into a another case on the board. Doable but just a bit more capital intensive for sure.

    Hey Mike! Great video! Got a question. I recently purchased a teamgee electric longboard, and after less than a year its starting to do weird things it shouldn't do. I was thinking about buying a whole new one, but then I decided to rebuild my current board to my preferences. Right now it's top speed is 42kph which I have never even hit, and a range of about 25km in perfect conditions. What I'd like to do is replace the 10s bottom mounted battery with dual top mounted 6s3p batteries in parallel, so I'd get a lower top speed, but way more range. If I understood your other video, that would mean I'd also need a dual hub motor esc for 6s batteries, and a casing or two, but everything else could be salvaged. I've never tried anything like this, so I figured I'd ask you first. Could it be done?

    • @MBoardsco
      @MBoardsco  3 роки тому +2

      This all sounds exactly right!
      Running the 2 6s3p batteries would make a 6s6p battery giving you a ton of range.
      You would need to make sure you get yourself a 6s ESC.
      Other than that, your motors would work perfectly.
      Let me know if have any other questions!

      Its totally fine for a beginner. One could easily upgrade to a second motor and get a different gear ratio. In the result of doing that, you would get better torque (two motors) and higher top speed(gear ratio)
