  • This dramatic drone footage shows Europe’s biggest building site, Hinkley Point C, with nearly 3,000 workers on site every day.
The nuclear power station, built by EDF Energy, will generate enough electricity for 5.8 million homes and is costing £19.6 billion to build.
A roadway is being installed for a 500m long jetty on the site in Somerset and when it is complete, the building materials will be delivered to the site by sea.

So very wrong when you consider that for the price of this project between now and 2030 we in the UK could have 60% electricity generation from Tidal projects. This is a scaling up cost of prototype projects like Swansea and the cost will decline like other 'Renewables'. So getting the 60% capacity will actually end up cheaper than this one Nuke Station and not forgetting Tidal hardware lasts for 120 years and a Reactor has an operating cycle of 40 years plus a toxic legacy of tens of thousands of years. Oh and EDF couldn't actually begin construction until they secured that utterly outrageous strike price of £92.50
