Excellent explanation, good to see construction excellence, shame so few people appreciate this video, but please keep them coming.

    impressive piece of engineering.

I dearly hope they will learn from that mess to reduce costs for other new reactors. €54bn for 3.2 GW is just ridiculous (16.7 €/W). Even more expensive than the mess at Vogtle (14.6 €/W). We need the Barakah values (4.5 €/W) to get things going with nuclear!

There is another one at Taishan Nuclear Power Station in China. Similar reactors.

Am I right they will be installing the steam generators through the equipment hatch and not prior to the containment building dome being placed? Seems kind of silly but I guess that is how it will need to be done in the future anyway...

Correct. All the major components are installed using the polar crane once the dome is on..

Thank you for an informative and interesting video. I always like infrastructure builds as they are so important for the country. I disagree about net zero, and think zero pollution is better.

Whilst it is an amazing feat of engineering, why isn't the nuclear reaction a recyclable process? Because it is possible. Or does the industry rely on the financial incentive of having to process "spent" fuel?

why didn't the CEB buy a Candu reactor?

Please finish the work on time and don't let the supervisory authorities act like idiots and deliberately use excuses to delay the construction.

And this is why small nuclear reactors are the future. If you can't transport the element on a transporter, it is to big.

After Sizewell b being built they should have carried on building another ten around the existing nuclear sites across Uk we wouldn’t be in the shite we are now, no need to import gas and be in control of our own generation not rely on France ..😊
