  • Check out the new Milwaukee M18 3600 Watt/1800 Watt Power Supply which runs on 4 M18 Batteries, any size. This video consists of all different types of tests, including a sump pump test and a corded job site test. This is sold as Tool Only, where the batteries aren't included. This is model #2845-20.
    What other test would you like to see? I'd be happy to make a short follow up video.

    Does the new M18 Carry On Power Supply have all the features you're looking for? What other tests would you like to see?

      Have you tried to power a small microwave or hot plate ? I was wondering how it would work for cooking lunch while on the jobsite

    Question: if you power the unit on how many hours will it stay on with no load? If it does not time out then you could use it for a backup sump pump situation correct?

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  Місяць тому

      I'm not sure what the answer is to that. When it's on standby, it powers up for a few seconds running a fan about every 10 minutes or so. I'm guessing it would be on standby for up to a week maybe. I may have to test it and let you know how many days I get with it on standby.
      If you leave it shut off, then it doesn't seem to drain the batteries at all. I think you could use if for quite a while for backup sump pump power if the power goes out.

    Thank you for your honest test. I’d like to replace my 3500 predator for an electric or other source power source, for my mobile deteiling van, any suggestions?

      Oh man! Did you see the new MX Fuel power supply? the difference of the cost in comparison with this M18 is very close to $300 dollars, but, I thing the best option is The M18 power supply with 4 M18 High output 12 amp batteries, the reason is very simple, if you use another tools with same M18 plataform you can use the battery.

    it should keep running on remaining battery power instead of shutting down when one battery gets low, if not for this I would consider it.

    Nice review. Curious what kind of bump we'd see if any with stacked lithium batteries. There's definitely a lot of scenarios in which this could be used.

      That's a good question. I'm still learning about stacked batteries, but seem to think the'll offer a nice upgrade to something like this.

    That was a great review, I just purchased one off facebook marketplace with 3 12amp batteries for $1000.
    I didn’t want to pay the negotiated $1300 for all 4, he offered 2 for $875 and took $1000 for 3 when I asked upon arrival.
    That being said I had questions about capacity and runtime and charging time which you did an in depth review and answered all of.
    I feel confident and proud of the price I got mine for and wanted to thank you for helping me reach that point.

    so pretty much its only good for a tail gate party watching the game on the TV and short jobs with your power tools.
    not much power to give for spending 1700 B4 tax
    ill stick to gas
    great review , just what i wanted to know. the run time

      @MarkThomasBuilder  Рік тому

      Back in the day when I ran corded tools, this would've worked in place of my gas generator if the power was for just me and not a small crew.
      I actually thought the sump pump would drain the batteries faster. I thought it did a good job on that.
      Glad this helped you know more about it for your needs.

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  Рік тому +1

      Haha yes, it would be handy for coffee and a microwave in your van. It might be handy for laptops or charging batteries at the job site too.
      My corded tools are getting few and far between now that battery power is taking over.

    It’s a nice product if you already have 4 of the 12ah batteries.
    4 -12Ah=around $900+ . Dedicated battery backup setups offer more power for less. Heavy batteries cause wrist fatigue. This product is perfect for framers & gardeners. The electric mowers, string trimmers, and chainsaws require juice. 4 charging ports for $600 is quite limited. Still a useful product though.

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  Рік тому +2

      Yes, good point. One other test I didn't get a chance to try is running a window AC for power outage situations. As far as the 12Ah batteries go, I haven't noticed any sales on them this year or a package deal with the power supply.

    This Power supply inverter have 1800 Watts continuous, shouldn't it be 1800 Watts hour, but you testing the Heater with high mode of 1500 Watts, but how come it only Max out at 25 minutes... ????

    • @kevinlauzon7665
      @kevinlauzon7665 11 місяців тому

      watts measure the power it takes for a device to function and watt-hours measure the energy consumed by that device over a certain period of time.The heater uses 1,500 watts while on high. The MILWAUKEE M18 POWER SUPPLY has capacity of 864wH when it is being used with 4 x 12 amp hour batteries. The Milwaukee batteries are 12Ah x18v = 216wH each. So 4 x 12Ah batteries = 864Wh. So the heater uses 1,500 watts per hours so the MILWAUKEE M18 POWER SUPPLY can only provide the 1500 watts for 0.576 hours (36 minutes) minus the whatever the MILWAUKEE M18 POWER SUPPLY's inverter is consuming. which looks to be 173 Wh in the heater example since it only ran for 25 minutes instead of 36 minutes.

      There's no noise from this. A 1500w space heater won't run that long with it. They draw a lot of power, which surprised me when I tested it. I don't think I got over 30 minutes of heater runtime.
