I just wanted to say thank you. I've lived in Fife my whole life and when people travel to Scotland they usually only try the usual tourist things, but they always miss Fife and we have so much amazing things. So thanks for showing it off and hopefully encouraging more people to come explore
I’m a bit of a history nerd (Rhett). I’d love to explore Scotland. It’s so rich with history! Looks like you’ve had some great weather (except for the chilly wind) during your stay there too🌞
Definitely a lot of history for you to dig into, Rhett! A few things we had to strip from the videos cos we, or our guides, went so deep into the history it would be TMI for most people... not for you!
Daneger and Stacey not for me at all! But o get it, you definitely have to take it out of the vlogs. Still, you did well to keep in some very interesting facts😊
Have just sat through your Fife travel vlog and being a Fifer born and bred I was very impressed with your interpretation of our little kingdom you have painted a beautiful picture of what's on offer here and it makes me proud to be a Fifer...thank you
You have truly captured the essence of Scotland in all your vlogs whilst there...and I loved every one of them! I'm so pleased that you featured the history and antiquity of this beautiful place. Thank you so much. Moving right along, headed for Greece and I can't wait. By the way...I really enjoy the 'teaser' video that you show at the end to give us just a glimpse of what's to come. Well done!
Nice to hear you're enjoying the little teaser - think we'll be looking to keep that in there! Takes a bit more time, but definitely keeps things interesting waiting a few days for the next one
I should be used to it by now but every time I watch one of your videos I’m surprised by the quality of it. The way everything is shot and edited, the music and just the whole vibe of it all is amazing. You always manage to find the perfect balance between talking to the camera and showing off everything around you; between giving us lots of interesting information and letting the pictures speak for themselves. Keep up the wonderful work , I’m looking forward to all the future adventures you’ll be sharing with us :)
I have just found this vlog and the others from Fife, and Lewis and Harris. What a lovely couple you are. I’m so impressed by your sensitivity and respect you’ve shown towards my home country. Thank you for capturing such fabulous footage and your appreciation of the experience. Has been wonderful to see your visit to Fife too, so few vloggers ever go there. Welcome back any time 🏴
Hi guys. I LOVE your vlogs. I am Scottish but live in Spain now. Thank you so much for highlighting my country and going to places I have never been. I hope I take the leap to do what you both have done one day....I have been to around 35 countries....but I envy you both. Such a fantastic couple. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness xx
Thank you so much for your Fife videos! I have really enjoyed watching them and your enthusiasm really shone through. As a Fife resident for 20 years, I realised that I haven't seen half of the places you visited and it has encouraged me to go out and explore so much more of the things which are local to me! Thanks again :-)
Love St Andrews went there on holiday when I was in my mid teens, nothing to do for someone that age but I loved just chilling on the harbour wall chatting with my mate.
Was at St Andrews just the other week with my missus and kids, meeting my brother and his family over from the states. First time I'd been in 10 years and first time my kids had been at all. They loved it. Even the castle, which didn't have a great deal to see, kept my kids busy and occupied for a while. Didn't have time to go to the cathedral.Pity, many of Scotland's castles, cathedrals and abbeys are mainly ruins, thanks primarily to Henry 8th and Cromwell.

I came up with the idea about how we could make it one day (Dane), so Stace designed up about 8 or 9 frames in photoshop and exporting individual images of the progress. I turned it into a video file with the clicks etc. The text is live, but the same font as the other elements. So its all custom, meaning I can adjust as we grow and its unique to us.
Yeh missed Dunfermline which was once the capital of Scotland and the burial site or King Robert The Bruce You also didn’t appear to try the tonic wine buck fast
Pity you didn't have time for the castle. It has a couple of interesting and unusual features. One is the bottle dungeon. This is a pit cut straight down into the rock of the sea cliff on which the castle stands in the shape of a flattened wine bottle. There is a round floor then the walls slope inward to a small round opening like the neck of a bottle about 15 feet above. Once someone was down there escape would be quite impossible without the aid of a ladder or rope. The other interesting feature is a rare example of a siege mine and counter mine. I believe there are only three or four surviving examples in the world. When the castle was under siege the attackers tried to dig a tunnel (siege mine) through the rock towards the castle. Their intention was to undermine the outer wall so that it would collapse and allow them to rush in through the gap and capture the castle. The principle defence against a siege mine was a counter mine. The defenders, hearing the sounds of digging, would themselves start digging their own counter mine with the intention of intercepting the attacker's mine before it reached the walls. This is what actually happened at St Andrews. The defenders, using the sounds of digging to guide them, and after one wrong turn, managed to break into the siege mine at the top of the leading face. This made it quite impossible for the attackers to continue digging and the siege mine had to be abandoned. Mines and counter mines were a very common siege technique but very few have survived. Mines were still being used to dig underneath and blow up enemy trenches even in the First World War.
Cracking information there! Wow - loved reading that and reminded us of a lot of the research we did in advance, definitely a bit sad we didn't check it out
Had a chuckle at the two of you squeezing in to the tower through the metal turnstile. With all of these stairs, could it be, "a certain stature" of visitor is discouraged from attempting this ascent? Thinking of that scene in the "In Bruges" movie ...... 😂 [link: ua-cam.com/video/YCOMXRE9sBE/v-deo.html ]

Wow - loved reading that and reminded us of a lot of the research we did in advance, definitely a bit sad we didn't check it out
You went to Scotland without seeing Edinburgh? Really wanted to see that :( Next time :D
Oh - just replied to your other comment. Sadly we ran out of time, we'll be back soon!
We'll miss your Fife vlogs 😔.
Yeah na

The chariots of fire was filmed on the sands of st andrews

Will ye no come back again? We hardly knew ye!
Of course we would! Planning a sneaky trip in a month or two
i keep forgetting to ask you guys, would you ever say yes if you are invited to Amazing race?
I'd totally be down for it - asked Stace and she paused... she's unsure.
@@DaneAndStacey the only thing which i cannot imagine you two doing is running all day long without a beer or any vegetarian food...
Will ye no come back again😥
Most definitely - we've got a taste, we'll be back!
😀
Yass 😁
Is it Donald wears or Donald where's?
WHERE is your troosers - because he's wearing a kilt 😀
Had a chuckle at the two of you squeezing in to the tower through the metal turnstile. With all of these stairs, could it be, "a certain stature" of visitor is discouraged from attempting this ascent? Thinking of that scene in the "In Bruges" movie ...... 😂

Totally forgot about this scene - perfection!
😍😍
First! 🏆
As for the "Donald song". You pronounce it as "Troozurz"! The Scottish word for "Trousers"!
You should have went to Scotland’s secret bunker
How come when you did UK , you didn’t do Wales 🏴. The best country of them all. If you liked Cornwall’s beaches , it’s nothing compared to the Gower Peninsular. And the scenery around Snowdonia is mind blowing. Just saying lol
Haha! Wales is on the list, don't worry about that - just hasn't worked out with any of our sporadic trips to get there yet.
Ha dane couldn't fit his muscles in the turn style what am i talking about i couldn't fit my tummy in there either the laws of physics be a terrible thing.
🤣 if Stace can barely fit, we're all screwed!
You and your partner are a pretty good team. Please take your backward baseball cap off, though. You're too old and too educated. It makes you look like Kevin. (Brit comic Harry Enfield referee).
Thanks Ray, appreciate! Hats staying as is though, sorry.
