avoid asking wear the bearing is for the bearing holder in this diagram because dont know maybe they dont let u repair the bearing :P.
this is second time same problem with dewalt sander..where a thread that unsure where it comes from chokes the bearing. it might be threads from sandpaper base over time choking the bearing jams so when pressure is appiled the unit stops spinning.. this repairs that problem.
in this case the bearing got hot a melted the plastic around it.
the pads break down after a year or two im in the tropics so unsure if related to environment.
will pull apart and regrease oil bearing occasionally now.
