You don't need to space out the foot peg bracket, he needs to twist the merge collector so that the primaries are in line vertically. Just put the same pipe on my bike.
Just a diy tip….. after a few heat cycles ( once bike is cool not hot or warm) recheck torque on exhaust studs and where it mounts to transmission. New exhaust’s and gaskets settle a little bit after a few rides and can potentially loosen. Torque speck on exhaust studs are usually 100-120 inch pounds. Looks better already 👍🏻
Man, I really want one of these pipes now :) Great video and amazing instruction. Thanks for recording and posting this, and thanks Mike for doing an awesome job.
I have one of their pipes with that muffler style on my sportster. I have probably had it for about 15k or so. I love it! The day I installed it, my brother and I were screwing around and I did the classic "watch this", and attempted a rolling burnout but popped my first wheelie on my sportster. Once I realized I did that, I rode that out for a good way across the parking lot. I wish I had that on camera
Are you sure about the o2 sensors? I know they are the same but i didnt mark mine when taking apart and want to make sure i didnt get the front and rear swapped around. I had heard elswhere that it could cause a problem
After 6+ months, whats the color on pipes...? Is the bike running lean / Rich ..? Did you end up putting a tuner ..? I am getting ready to put the exhaust.
Hey can I get info of the tool that I need my English is not so good. I got the low rider s. 2023. I just got my exhaust. But I do not know what tools I need to buy. Thank you
It’s for sure more quiet than my 124 twin cam, but that is for obvious hot rod reasons - As for general decibels, I don’t know that it is actually quieter as much as it is just different
@@FXDLSBrooklyn ahh gotcha I heard replacing the cam in the m8 really wakes it up too. Sick looking bike you have cant wait to check out what you do next.
@@FXDLSBrooklyn THE NEVERENDING WEEKEND During the night worked at the club and during the day at the cinema It's finally over 😴 Free this Monday, lazy day
why is torque specs on head gasket flange nuts sooooooo hard to say?!??!?!? is not important?!?!??! ya'll just wasted 26 min of my time..... "walk the nuts in evenly" is not good enough, how TIGHT should they be?!??!? c'mooooooon

I chose the Vance and Hines Hi Output 2 into 1 in stainless. Couldn’t leave the dealership with that sewing machine sound. You bike sounds fantastic!
Right on man! I've I had a few friends just run slip-ons temporarily, and even that makes a massive improvement 🏁 ⚡️
Just used this video to install my Fab28 exhaust. I really appreciate you.
Right on! Let me know how you like the exhaust!

100% and a good reminder for sure! Gotta agree, pipe definitely cleans it up a bit 🏁 ⚡️

Cant wait to see the Dyno pulls with the various different mods your doing. I always knew you'd go with the fab28! She's going to be a ripper!
Me too man! Coming for the 124 twin cam world, I can tell you it’s not that far behind surprisingly
Very helpful video. Installed the thrashin on mine and used this for a reference. Very similar install.
That's really good to hear, this type of video is a lot of work production-wise, just glad it helped at least one person
Great install video 🤙🏼 much more betta!
This is probably the first install video I’ve ever done that I felt like could actually be helpful to someone - Thanks man!
@@FXDLSBrooklyn definitely informative 🤙🏼
Great videos i like the way you removed the stock exhaust
Does the motor require a tune after the new exhaust has been installed.?
I ran it for about 5k miles without a tune and it was fine, but it definitely was not anywhere near it's true potential
@@FXDLSBrooklyn
I did the same procedure you did on removing the stock exhaust altogether. We're great right on man thanks for the video
Where did you get the extended bolts and washers?
Did you install a power commander or pro tuner along with the new exhaust?
Nope, I left it with no tune for the first couple months, eventually had it professionally dyne tuned
Are you sure about the o2 sensors? I know they are the same but i didnt mark mine when taking apart and want to make sure i didnt get the front and rear swapped around. I had heard elswhere that it could cause a problem
When muffler / cap is this? Lookin on the website now and they don't have anything that looks like this one
This is their original muffler setup, they no longer offer this
Awsome video man. My question is when you go to tune that bike with a screaming eagle pro street tuner, what do you select for the exhaust?
Haven't even tuned it yet - Kind of want to see if I can get away without having to run a tune
@@FXDLSBrooklyn Do keep the post updated, if you are good without the tuner & map. Also share the HP/torque increase with these pipes.
After 6+ months, whats the color on pipes...? Is the bike running lean / Rich ..? Did you end up putting a tuner ..? I am getting ready to put the exhaust.
Do you need a tuner for this bike or not? You can just install the exhaust
I've been running it without a tune and it's been fine - I will run a tune though eventually if I do cams
Awesome video! What tuner did you put on the bike?
I’ve heard some guys say you don’t need a tune on the st 117 specifically but that seems like some BS frankly. I’d like to know as well, what he used.
No tuner - Seeing if I can get away without tuning it for now, we’ll see what happens
Can you let us know how that goes? I have a lower ST too and I’m looking to get a new pipe! I’m tired off the stock sewing machine sound
@@FXDLSBrooklyn yeah I got the same bike and am doing a pipe too so let us know haha

Did you end up tuning?

There's a lot to list here, is there something specific you were wondering about?
Great install video thx😊
With the new exhaust, you have more room to get bigger bags if needed.
True!
Bad ass snap on tools 😎
Oh yeah, he's got it all ⚡️
Those soft tail muffler bolts are a biattttch especially when they impact them in and gall the threads from factree
Do a sound comparison after about 1000 miles when that pipes packing is brike in.
Will do man, we were going pretty easy on those revs too
did you tune?
So far no tuner - If I start getting some dead spots I’ll definitely be tuning it
Has more grunt to it, Anyone know why even with a full exhaust like this the M8s are still quieter than twin cam 110 with the same setup.

Man, those M8s are so quiet 😢
Compared to my hot rod dynas? For sure - But the sound trade off is worth it for performance
Just not for me
