As a plant based runner I lower fibre the day before the run normally half marathon or full marathon but I don’t lower my standards when it comes to gels as I am caffeine free I use purendure banana/dates or mango&dates. It takes 15minutes to register it so you don’t shock your body. You sound like you have a plan so good luck !
Do you find plant based better nutritionally as well? I’ve not used gels in such a long time - previously I used bounce balls but struggled to eat and run with those. Even though I am not plant based I do look at the plant based/vegan options for running as they also tend to be gluten free (you probably already knew that). I also have to be caffeine free (Drs orders) so that brand sounds perfect 👌 - thanks for the tip. I’ve done one day of the Runna plan so far, next one is tomorrow 🙌
Thank you for your reply.Nutritionally plants give me the means to run. Lentils, beans & lagoons do drive me. I consume lots of organically grown oats. I cook most of things I eat. The gels aligned as most have caffeine in them. Understand the calorie Density of food to help your natural weight. Good luck on your journey
Stronger and healthier are fantastic goals and can't wait to find out which ultra you decide to go for even if it is a year or so away!
