BMW considers lifetime to be 100k miles things like coolant, p/s fluid(not on newer cars), diff/s, and trans/vtg fluid are all considered lifetime which is 100k. So all those fluids should be changed every 100k or better. Yes that exhaust bracket bolt always breaks surprised it wasn’t included in the kit we always quote that bracket when doing a trans pan. Also you should consider changing your vtg fluid and diff fluids. The vtg will technically store a phantom fault in the car when it senses the vtg fluid is at eol but you should just do it when doing trans and diff fluid. Great job great video.

The service writer at BMW told me is was lifetime and I told him " I think I will listen to the manufacturer of the transmission. Thanks though."

I’m impressed you do this work yourself. I have the same F10 535 and never though of doing that myself. Definitely would consider it now. I might have to hire you to help me since we are both in the Boston area. Many of the things you have done to your F10 I would like to do to mine. I would like to see your car in person some time. Keep up the great content!

A like and a comment just because you said my name twice.. Question: looking to come out of american made cars (or so to speak) BMW car or suv? What would be a good starter project for a newbie to start with? I know my way around vehicles and tool in general. Just asking.

It’s an easy job! Just watch out for the exhaust bracket bolt. I recommend to spray the back side of the bolt with PB blaster and let it set for a day

that is pretty cheap for this car
my e46 325ci had the pan rust out at 50k
last year , cost like twice that for BMW fluid alone
