Thank you for this video!!! I just built a wooden framed cattle panel driveway gate and i bought this gate opener. I am at the point where i need to install the chain. The instructions, oh my goodness are no help at all, so i came on youtube and found your video! Now i know what i need to do to attach my chain to the wood frame. Oh and thank you for the electrical part and lock. Your video will help me immensely. Thank you again!!! :-)
I was thinking of doing this for my front yard my gate would be far smaller then this but I want it to be a wood fence but this should handle it awsome video
How has this held up over time? You can use 0 grade or Number 0 grease on the chain and it will last a long time without dripping off. Helps to combat rust that builds up on chain exposed to the elements.
HappyRider Reviews... hi, the link just take me to the opener.. I need the rail and the wheel you got. I have the same gate you hav. Can you help me with the he link of those items. Thanks in advance.
Since I installed this gate, it only snowed twice the past few years. However, the temperature does drop below 40 degrees here in the winter and it works perfectly, like a champ. I can’t speak for long term snow.
Hmm... I’m not exactly sure on that. But i believe the manual states it will be fine with both 120V or 240V. However, don’t quote me on this. Let me know for sure if you decide to do it!
Thanks! I bought it on Amazon also. This is the one I bought: amzn.to/2RUAJr3 They mistakenly sent me only 1 piece at first, which was only 6 foot. I contacted them, and they sent me the other 2 pieces, which altogether makes 18 feet.
You can actually buy any wire and snap/cut the end and split the 3 lines to hook it into the gate. I would recommend to buy a heavy duty wire, like the thick orange one.
@@HRR Can you please list the items that dont come in the amazon package and are bought separately? I just bought mine and need to know what to buy separately
I saw that too but I think those are people with frikkin' HEAVY gates and they're burning out the motor. I was going to clad a steel-frame gate with lumber, mostly 2" x 6"s and 2" x 4"s to match the fence, but when I did the weight calculation my 14' gate would have been close to 700lbs! I opted instead for a $200, 75lb, steel-tubed gate from Tractor Supply Co. I'm thinking the motor doesn't even flinch with that kind of "load". lol
I knew of it.. but didn’t get it since this package came with everything I need.. I just had to play around with the placements of the magnet a bit. I would get it if it was cheaper.
Ok. I’ve purchased electric eye / photo beams on amazon for less than $20 in the past that I use with other operators. I’ll try it with this operator. Pretty sure it will work. I’ll let you know ;)
PancakePlease yes & it works perfectly! The manual I rec’d via email from the seller was completely wrong - but the small manual that came with the operator has the correct connection information. I used a cheapo reflector style electric eye. I think the model was ek13 (omron was the brand) or something like that. You have to use a photobeam that has the option for normally closed (most have this) & you have to remove the small staple style jumper for it to work.
Bro...Holy shit you're my neighbor! I live right around the corner. I'm the guy with the 8' metal fence and Sliding gate! I may need your help with my opener!

Do the magnets have to be the same height? Does it have to be at least close enough to make the connections. Or is one higher or lower

Need a conduit. Great explanation!
You did a great job explaining and great job attempting this yourself. Keep up the good work and be safe 🙃👌
Thanks! This gate is great. It still works perfectly fine now after years.
Great video! Great review and explanation. You are very easy to understand. Thanks a lot. I just got mine today .
Thanks! Glad it helped!
Thank you so much .....I was going crazy figuring it out
Where do I get that wire?.
Hi! I had a question about the remote control... The only button to be used to open stop & close it's only the top one? The other 3 are useless?
Yes, but you can adjust and set one button to close only.
great job brother
Nice video. You should do a video on how you hooked it up to your house’s power. Thanks.
What was the size of the anchor bolts that you used? Do you have a link?

@@eumernunez6706 did you ever figure this out? I need to buy the wire and have no idea what to get.
Great video Happy Rider answered all my question thanks
How's it work in the cold environment special in the winter freezing weather in Chicago

How much was the fence itself? I have a swing gate not a sliding gate :/
It was about $800 installed when it was done years ago
So did that rail kit come with it as well ? Or the link for that would be nice too if not thank you I will probably be getting one!
The V rail kit has to be purchased separately
really nice video sr the best
Question, do you have an idea what size solar panel i would need and battery size? i want to make mine solar powered...
Hmm... I’m not exactly sure on that. But i believe the manual states it will be fine with both 120V or 240V. However, don’t quote me on this. Let me know for sure if you decide to do it!
So if there is a power outage i would need to be inside the gate (yard) to access the manual overide?
put a walk through gate with pad lock n your drive through gate..
Have you tried putting sensor for the gate?
Yes, I was able to put it on and it worked great 👍
@@HRR what model.and how do you wire it help please
Thank you

Where did you buy that electric wire and how did you connect that to the house? Great vid by the way!
I bought everything on Amazon

Can you post the link of the wire you purchase at amazon thanks
@@HRR can you show how you hooked it up inside? did you attached to a power cord or directly to a breaker?
I connected the lines to a wall plug, then plug it into a normal wall outlet

I got everything on Amazon. Links are in the description
The only link is for the opener. There is no info about the gate can you repost?

Great job on your review.
Does this come with sensors? If not could it be added?
Yes, it comes with two magnet sensors to auto stop the gate.
What I meant was motion sensors? I have kids and I don’t want it to close on them? Does it retract if it hits a object? Thanks
No, it doesn’t have motion sensors, so it’ll keep on going until it reaches the magnet threshold
Great tips
Can you tell me where I can buy the sliding door? Thanks.
Yes, the link is in the description.
@@HRR The link is only for the opener. Not the gate.
u need a hammer drill.. u will not break a drill bit.. use proper tool
I was using a hammer drill. Key is to keep the drill head cool. Only learned that after breaking a few lol
Hammer drill with masonry bit. will cut concrete like butter. No oil needed. A standard bit will turn bright red.
I do concrete and always use a hammer drill with concrete bit and no problemo amigo ✌🏼✌🏼
Do you have to do any wiring?
Nope. I talked about everything I did in here...
Thank you for the info 🙏🙏🙏🙏
where is the online Manual? I'm having trouble finding out how i put the Obstruction / Reverse on.
There is none that I know of...
How do you connect the gate key to the gate
It came connect already. But you can connect it manually with the instruction in the manual.
Can someone email me the instruction manual on how to connect pls. art_chun@yahoo.com. Thanks.
Good video.. easy to understand..(: thank you..
TheNikola6996
thanks for the video, for safety a little more protection for the power lead might be a good idea
My pleasure 😇
thanks for the review! Adding a new sliding gate soon and really needed a video for openers.
Great video very helpful
Or just buy a concrete drill bit
I'm a little skeptical. Some Amazon reviews say it stopped working after a couple months. Problems with the motor.
I have been using for nearly 2 years now and no issues at all. It has been through rain and storms. Still works great
