    Hi everyone!
    Back to experimenting! I will be showing the dried results of my 8x8 triptych (from video #151) in the next video!
    So I tried the Dutch pour again, only this time I used ONLY pouring medium.. no floetrol at all in this piece.. what do you think?
    I still have a LOT of practicing and experimenting to do with these beautiful pigments.. so stay tuned for more!

    Kanella, I just want to tell you how grateful I am that you post your "experiment" videos, even ones that maybe don't turn out perrrrrfectly. Every new video of yours that I watch, I'm actually getting valuable information instead of just being "ooohh"d and "aahhh"d and just entertained. You're willing to be *real* and show what others might be reluctant to show. What I absolutely KNOW is that ALL artists have to experiment and to produce stuff they don't like in order to get to the point that they're able to produce stuff they don't *hate*, and then to get to the point that they can make stuff they *love*. You inspire me to try and to be brave and to not be afraid to fail. THANK YOU. You're an excellent teacher. [and a hilarious dog-mom]

    Thank you for sharing your experiences as I’m very new to this, and becoming quite addicted. I’ve never used the primary elements but have been on the website and doing a lot of reading and video watching. Leslie did a video on UA-cam two years ago about why flotrol shouldn’t be mixed with the artistic paints (especially the primary elements) and the scientific reasoning as to why it breaks down the paints. She also offers some solutions. I apologize if you are already aware. Your work is beautiful and again, thank you so much for sharing your process 🙏🏻

    • @lynettefrohning3069
      @lynettefrohning3069 4 роки тому

      @@Lori-sb3zb normally I will mix the pigments or whatever you're using with the pouring medium and when it's too thin I will pour a little bit of that paint and pouring medium mixture in another small container and then I'll add some gloss gel to that and mix it really good and then pour in a little bit more of the paint and pouring medium mix in it again until it's a little less thick and then add that to the main cup that the paint and pouring medium is in. I hope that makes sense!? It's easier 2 blend in if you first give it a little bit of the paint and pouring mixture, it doesn't Clump up that way! 👍

    I feel that the centre was a bit solid. A thin strip of white may have broken this up. I also think that you have to use a couple of tube
    paints with primary elements or your white eats the colours, which may have happened on the previous pour. Metallic colours will produce some cells in paintings. Remember when you use Pebeo irridescents you also get a lot of cells. I am sure you will find the
    solution. Looking forward towards your next experiment. Glenis

Then you could line them up side by side and see clearly which technique works best. This one turned out so vibrant. Beautiful!!!

    What about instead of a solid ribbon of different colors what about a broken line of paint with a thin line of white to somehow break up intense middle

    Beautiful piece! I’m wondering why you didn’t use polypore which is designed to use with the colourarte. Is there a reason you used another pouring medium?

      Originally the primary elements were meant to be mixed with the vivid enamel. Poly pore is relatively new. The primary elements can be mixed with any acrylic medium but I personally think they look the best mixed with vivid enamel...but they all work.
