We are also having the same rapid replacement of other street lighting with LED lighting here in the US. There must be a large cost savings by switching to LED street lighting since some municipalities who hesitated and never used HPS lighting are now replacing their mercury vapor and incandescent fixtures with LED street light fixtures.
Almost all of the hps lights in Virginia on interstate highways have been replaced with warm white leds. There are still a few hps lights on Interstate 64 in Norfolk, Va
Fortunately, the A13 is still illuminated by SON street lighting for the most part. I’m unsure when they’re getting replaced, but I hope to save one when the time comes.
I have seen some yellow tint LED street lights, 4 on A5. They are a mix of RED and White LEDs to make High Pressure Yellow/Orange Colour. Seen in later video.
Great video, sad to see this downgrade in lighting nearly complete.
It is sad used to love going drives at night in orange lit streets
I would have liked to have a couple more decades with HPS. The LEDs kinda suck.
I personally love HPS street light as It is very easy on the eyes.
I remember counting the LPS streetlights on my street go out and get swapped with LED lights made to fit the old fixtures. The last one went in 2019.
Brilliant video. Well done.

I know a 70Watt HPS is being Replaced with a 36Watt Led a Cost Saving of almost 50%. Fluorescent and LPS "No Cost Savings"

They are still plentiful in europe, even though large stretches of roads have been converted to LED
If only the LED colour temperatures were warmer, at 3000K.
I went up the other day, they seem to be the same ones as around East Midlands Airport, not sure what make though.
Philips Luma

How do you save one?
M1 j23-23a still has HPS SGS204's
M69 Coventry still got some 125Watt LPS and most of Coventry is still HPS
The new LED lanterns lighting the M1 are Philips Lumas.
Why are hps lighting being replaced with led?
Cost - LPS 35 Watts - HPS 70 Watts - LED 36 Watts for same street lamp (side street)
Focus?

@@davesbusstuffandmore увы газоразрядоое освещение уже подходит к концу своей эпохи
Where were the flourecent lights
The Fluorescent Lights are under the M1, there are a lot of high pressure sodium light as well but they only work during the day.
