I have taken a trip to the Chesapeake bay bridge when I was young. It was very exciting, but also scary. I went with my step dad, my mom and baby sister. We went there to help my step dad paint a mansion. His business was painting. It was a great experience I'm planning to just go again as an adult and take my son.
I hate bridges and this bridge is a major, MAJOR reason why when people say "lets go to VA beach" I cringe and say "uh how about Ocean City instead" lol. I think I'll face this fear.... hopefully I wont pass out midway through... and no emergency lanes... oh god
Cool video man. All these years I had no idea this was a tunnel as well as a bridge! What an engineering marvel! There's apparently several world wide.
I took this bridge tunnel coming from 17 from myrtle beach south carolina I couldnt believe how long it is it felt forever I even got dizzy cause I was little tired driving even though it was early hours wife kids were sleeping I just said to my self god bless the people who made it , I will never forget it next year I will take the route agsin instead of 95 north from myrtle beach to n.y.c
What a video!! All my life I have never though that there is a bridge as tall as this one with tunnels in it. So impressive! One day I'll have my chance to go and see it my self. nice video and cool weather though.
This is one of two YT videos showing the crossing - this one is the most interesting as it's during that storm; the other video is more plebian, as it's in clean weather (both videos are in the same direction - south to north).
I hate driving over the Bay Bridge so I cant imagine this! If youre in an accident anywhere on that 5miles in because there is NOWHERE for emergency traffic to get to you.
Wow...two separate tunnels and bridge. What a project that was in building! I'm glad you had some good windshield wipers there at the end! Was that $12 toll northbound? Is there a southbound toll? Some bridges just charge one way, like the Bay Bridge (east of Annapolis) and the Harry Nice bridge across the Potomac.
What kind of idiot would hold a gopro? It was suction cup mounted to the windshield, same as the phone bracket. But thanks so much for your valuable input.
55+ mph crosswinds coming from the right side made it a challenge, but I'm sure that the million plus miles of driving in my career make me the worst on the road, keyboard warrior.
That is the cleanest windshield I think I have ever seen.
Loved the 2012 music playing in the background
I'd be scared shitless driving on that bridge in those weather conditions.

You would think that a bridge as long as that would have higher guard rails.
The tunnel or the bridge would be horrible places for your car to breakdown or get in a car accident SMH

Boy you wouldn't want anyone distracted in there..
Thanks for doing this! Now I know I will never go on this!
Boy, there's not much room for error in the tunnel portions, is there?
Nice windshield wipers. Mine only smear the water all over the place.
Cool video man. All these years I had no idea this was a tunnel as well as a bridge! What an engineering marvel! There's apparently several world wide.
We have several tunnel / bridge structures here in Virginia - a lot of shipping and Naval vessels are in our waters here
I do believe this complex is considered one of the "wonders of the world"...
i saw that bridge - tunnel on my 2006 road atlas
That's why it's called the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel
When it was built it was one of the 7 Manmade Wonders of the World.
thanks for the ride! I went thru the tunnel many years ago and I remember being terrified
no way I would drive across that
Imagine a car flying off that bridge into the water below. You're a goner then.
Wow that storm was pretty bad. You did a great job driving through it. I've been across this bridge many times, but never during a storm.
Did anyone else notice the funnel clouds at 13:05
I never knew there was a rest area at the entrance to the tunnel.
sheesh a 12$ toll??
That was nice - and the Eastern Shore is beautiful after it rains!
thanks for sharing I drove in my mind with you to the end of the journey ....thank you
That's one heck of a shelf/wall cloud!
Das ist einfach atemberaubend. Die Brücke scheint kein Ende zu nehmen. Wunderbares Video. vielen Dank dafür.
In all honesty, It's easier to watch it in a video than drive on it in person even tho I've never been on that bridge yet.
19:52 and that’s when I’m done
05:04 the gradient of that section is a bit worrying, it looks like the bridge is very slowly tilting over into the water :p
That was exciting! I am sure the guy on the motorcycle thought so. Thanks for sharing.
I drove on this once.IT WAS SO LONG BUT COOL!
Thanks for the ride!!

Looks like a wall cloud with some tentative funnels.

Why the hell are there ads on this? I didn’t authorize ads. I don’t get any money from them. Screwed by UA-cam.
Man I have a question, do you know the song of the minute 1:05? Btw very nice footage.
the sky is black and green!😢 so scary!

OMG! You don't see land for miles!!!!!

I'm glad you came.
That is one large bridge
AMAZING VIDEO DUDE.HUGE AND HARD STORM IN THE BRIDGE.VERY GOOD WORK
Weren't sure why you stopped at first...cool video!

I really like this video, going across the bridge, and the tunnel on a rainy day. :)
It looked like waterspouts trying to form off that black cloud.
Omg I would never cross that bridge! too scary
this was awesome ... thanx for the ride !
That storm though
Bryan, I think we've taken a wrong turn.
What the fuck Barbara, can't you read a map, damn woman we'll have to drive to end and turn back now.
See I couldn't do this, i would be under the dash!! lol
I wonder how deep it is at the middle of the bridge:???
Thanks for the upload!!
Jewel makes everything better
After watching a few of these Chesapeake Bay Bridge crossing videos I have come to the conclusion that bad music is a requirement to cross:)
Not much in the way of stations to choose from.
I drove through that last year on my way to Virginia Beach
Wow . And it was raining super hard .
Bridge used to be two lane hiway. Now four lane. Only tunnels remain two lane. Cost too much to add another tunnels.
thanks for sharing i went across the bridge both times in the dead of the night and didn't get to see the beauty of it.
OMG, I drove it twice, thank god it didnt rain like this, kudo's to the driver, dont think so!
Was this a thunderstorm or a tropical system?
thanks for sharing!
I hear panic at the disco in the backround
I would love to travel here just to say I've been there before
cool video. very peaceful.
ooh they are listening to Panic! At The Disco 😊
What type of Dashcam did you use for your video?? & Nice Video!
It has two tunnels.
awesome video :)
That storm was bad! it's a good thing that I don't live there!
i don't want to drive on this road
I would die many deaths!
of man, crossing this when I go to ocean city is either A pretty or B praying to god that im not going to die.
Ohhhhh that's scary!
The most dangerous bridge in Maryland
I remember the one time I crossed that bridge I was scared
A lot of comments have disappeared too. WTH.
cprofomogo Those bastards
awesome video
wow crazy
very long tunnel
wow!!!
Nice
chesapeake bay bridge is in some sort of danger cliche
im not sure you ahould have kept driving in that direction...like youre driving into a hurricane
Something under the other bridge at 12:20
thank you very much
Did you seriously almost clip a couple cars @ 10:19?????
No, camera was mounted to the right side of the windshield and set to wide angle distorts the perspective.
$12??
RIP
+whatSongIsThis? lol that rain @19:40
I hate this bridge so god damn much
Coming a bit close to that on coming traffic in that tunnel... maybe put the camera down and not take photos while driving?
What kind of idiot would hold a gopro? It was suction cup mounted to the windshield, same as the phone bracket. But thanks so much for your valuable input.
You look like a terrible driver. STAY IN YOUR LANE!
55+ mph crosswinds coming from the right side made it a challenge, but I'm sure that the million plus miles of driving in my career make me the worst on the road, keyboard warrior.
wow crazy
