Paul does this in his basement........better than most you hear on the radio with million dollar producers..... BTW...he plays all the instruments.......himself..
@@moatrboatYeah he don't owe me anything, I'm just mad at myself for not knowing who he was back in 2013 when the Replacements reunited. What I wouldn't give for a time machine...
Omg....Paul blew that one up! Before i die i gotta see him perform live cause hes one of the best writers/ rockers of my generation and the guy is just to damn cool...keep doin what your doin paul..LVDM...P.S COME TO LAS VEGAS PLEASE!!
quick story...huge fan and in orange county california. He played house of blues in downtown disney and I was determined to meet him as hes near godlike to me. I got super drunk...Paul would have wanted it that way, enjoyed a great show- and went out to the back of the venue where I was certain the musicians entered and exited. I waited for an hour and then security told me to GTFO...so I left not being able to meet him. Next day on the Westerberg message boards I found out he did a meet and great for anyone who was in attendance. Felt stupid AF....but also thought once again, Paul and his history of near misses probably would have wanted it that way.
easy to see that it's all my fault A reputation for being difficult When everything goes wrong Come on, little baby, don't be long Come on, little baby, it won't be long Til everything goes wrong Everything goes on and on and on. Thanks Paul .. your basement tapes are as good as Dylans. Nice guitar buzz.
+lingfeng Wei Not on an album, It's at the end of the 'Come Feel Me Tremble' DVD. Which is on youtube and if you're a Westerberg fan, it's well worth watching.
knockin on mine?? Talk about running out of ideas. If Westerberg needs to access his back catalog for idea why not go to the Mat's old songs? At they rocked and were highly innovative.
Tom C. Agee I agree, but why totally change one's sound at the height of one's creativity and potential success? Especially when the times were changing towards the Mat's particular sound of Tim and Pleased to Meet Me in the early 90s? Talk about missing an opportunity for the masses to hear the prior genius of Westerberg's writing. Instead, all he gave were lame ass songs like "Dyslexic Heart"..what a joke.
Don't you understand about the personal problems and the excesses of booze etc, members feeling the full on lifestyle in different ways.Paul hasn't had drink etc after the collapse after "All Shook Down"which is great with Paul basically doin the brunt of.Some artists find it difficult to write during such a major bunch of changes. Some don't.Without the rest of the band functioning,Paul pretty much was in a whole new world. I like the Replacements stuff as a whole better too.If you don't like Westerbergs stuff leave it for what it is and quit whining. He's still got a few gems in him, they're just not as rockin' If you watch "Come Feel Me Tremble" you can see his frustration at times while writing. You try it,It's not as simple as you guys seem to think.I know from songs that I wrote and played,I find it more like work to get what seemed to just flow once I stopped drinking hard.Nobody's perfect forever.....................
Tom C. Agee I'm not arguing against the songs in particular, but it's the complete change in sound, production, and mixing. He simply wanted to be a top 40 pop star and his art suffered and has never fully recovered.
This guy should start a band
They could do lots of covers!
Hey! maybe Replacement COVERS! @@petefritsch7345
Ummm... wtf???
“Oh, here. Let me just toss off another pop gem.”
So Midwest! And so perfect!
So. Thank you!
why wasn't this a #1 hit?!?!?!
Paul is the coolest guy on the planet....literally gives no Fs about anything other than busting out amazing music when he feels like. What a life.
Yeah he’s the greatest. He and Matthew Sweet are my power pop gods.
@@ART_EYELAND Right on! I could watch Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs play old Beatles songs and be in pure bliss.

One of my favorite Berg songs... Man, wish his ass would get out there and just play some dates.
i'm pretty sure he's done w performing and he just wants to do stuff himself at his own leisure. which is cool.

Ace.
his basement looks the way i think the inside of my head looks. no wonder i like paul.
It would appear we who like this shit are in the minority, and you wonder why Paul doesn't release more CD's or tour more? It is what it is.
ManWithoutTies, how did you get a hold of this video?
Long live the Mats!
Is he using open tuning?
Anyone have any idea how to PLAY this song, based on this video? REALLY want to cover it sometime
What album is this song from?

Ryan Adams, eat your heart out. This is how it's done.
How does it remind you of Ryan Adams?
@@MitchSwitchify Please, Ryan Adams based his whole career on ripping off Westerberg. He even copied his dressing style.
