I am a huge Paul fan and I honestly think his solo stuff is better than the Replacements. Am I the only one who thinks that?

Only 2 people, but his solo stuff is great too. I’d put the Bash & Pop albums up against any Westy solo album though. That band made him better. He wrote for the band and the concessions he made to make the other guys happy only made his stuff better

I wouldn't say his solo stuff is better (it's different to be sure), but, I've always been confused by Replacements fans who are so angry with Paul's solo material. I love his melodies, I love the little surprise hooks, and I love his sly twist of phrase. He frays it every time in my mind and is always worth listening to.

@@nyman2096 It does...but then we might not have had the gems he released from his basement and with the success of the book "Trouble Boys" and it now being made into a movie, hopefully a new generation will discover the genius of Westerberg
