lol I'm a man of few words so I'm still working on sharing detail. I will say the most noticeable improvement other than the extra power under WOT is how you can get more torque at lower RPMs. Like if going through a corner in 3rd and you need to downshift while stock, you can just pull through it in third with power on tap. The driveability is "great" :)
sounds like stage 2 with a cobb 3inch cat back and you are good to go for a daily driver, just got a 23 premium, only 600 miles on it so far so i have been good, love it so far,WHY they only gave it a 6k red line is nuts,6800-7k stock which it could handle easily would have been perfect!
Man not gunna lie I’d love to get a Cobb AP, just not willing to flush the warranty down the drain. I got the extended one for like 1500 bucks so she’s covered for 7 years/100,000k. Saw another video where a guy just finished installing stage 1 and then later that night when he got home he noticed the engine knocking lol Fffffffff dat.
who says I don't have an ethanol tune? lol but nah, I'll do the ethanol once they get the flex fuel setup ready. There are only a few stations near me (and not convenient) that have e85 so it makes more sense for me to be patient. I'm also not in any big hurry to add power as I rarely drive the car so it feels like a rocket as is compared to the other cars.
@@stock.cars.2nedi think you might have looked at the wrong graph. Stage 2 is closer to 320awhp and 360awtq. Certainly no e85 power but again, i’ll wait for the real flext fuel kit before I worry about it. Next priorities are better drivers seat and titanium exhaust.
@@randomquickness you are right, i spit out stg1 or stock car numbers because i am stock. Cant wrap my head around the idea of modifying my car to make less power than just tuning it. But yes, stg2 is faster and 3000$ more expensive probably.
you aren't wrong...but just imagine how your car would feel if you took a stage 2 car and pro tuned it for e85. At that point, we'll probably need to budget for a clutch lol
what does the carbon trap trap? why is there a carbon trap on the intake? for the cabin filter, the activated-carbon/charcoal is to remove odors...so again, why a carbon trap on the intake?
How are you liking the VB? With the recently announced TR trim addressing all the things I wanted, (brakes and recaros) I'm heavily debating on getting one depending on how much their asking. I'm curious if you cross shopped with anything, like a type r etc. as I just sit here twiddling my thumbs debating on what to move up to.
I'm loving it but honestly the TR is going to be overpriced for what you get. You can install better brakes and recaros for less than what that will end up costing. Plus you get isight which is cool and all but when I'm driving a manual I don't want any extra technology intervention. That's just my opinion though. I suppose if the TR offers what you want for a price you're good with then go for it! Great chasis for sure.
Do you have a BBK you'd recommend for the VB, or would you do your STI swap again? This would be my first Subaru after Mitsubishi and Honda.@@randomquickness
when I did my kit there weren't many options. If I was going to do it again I'd consider using the 6/2 pot setup from the last sti but with some weight reduction, these already perform great on track so at that point it would be more suited for a full weight car or aesthetics.
I’ve been running it for several weeks. Even during my summer heat track day on COTA. Driveability is better than stock and with a decent bit more punch. It’s awesome and I’d absolutely trust it long term if you take good care of your car.
@@stock.cars.2ned 10K miles is nothing... horsepower is not what concerns me, its that torque number. 400 is near the top end of what most tuner say for reliability. Yeah you can do more but you're shortening the life at that point. That tranny is the same as the VA WRX and 480 wtq... you better save up for a new one or a STI swap soon.
Straight forward, these cars are pretty easy to work on for anyone who is used to bolt ons. That being said I’ll outsource anything that requires tearing the motor apart.
@@randomquickness yea I figured that. Do you get any blow off sound more than stock? Or just a little louder spool sound? I am content with the power for right now honestly was just wanting intake for a bit more turbo sounds
I haven't noticed any more blow off sound. I would say you can hear the turbo sound a little bit more but only slightly. I have the Cobb stainless steel catback and that is loud enough to overpower most intake sound unless I put the windows down.
I think you’re underestimating the FA24. These motors have proven very reliable so far with mods. I have close to 30k tuned miles and the car is tip top.
How does it perform? "Great."
Thanks for the detailed review.

I came here to make the exact same critique 😂😂😂 We all wanna know if it was worth losing warranty for!

It really is a perfect daily setup and unless you're hard launching everywhere, the stock clutch handles it fine.

I feel ya, I have an extended warranty on the daily so not tuning that one!
What series AntiGravity battery do you have?? That one fits perfectly!👌🏼

How much money did you spend on this brother? Could have gotten an ethanol tune on stock car for cheaper and had 400whp.

they catch residual carbon that would escape from the intake after turning the car off, if I understand them correctly
I hope you didn't pay for a factory warranty.. and any warranty on the will be gone..
I don’t care too much about warranties so I didn’t pay for any extra.
Did they fix the DAM drops, I ran the stage 1 way back when the car released and after 10 minutes of DAM drop I ordered the Drunkmann tune.
Yes, there was an update to the stage 1 ots
Are you running a J pipe and exhaust ?
Cobb stainles catback, no j-pipe. I’ll probably switch to the cobb titanium exhaust at some point.

Does the intake tube add any induction/woosh noises like other intakes?
A little bit but probably not as much as the open filter styles.
