2020 and this set is still my most favorite of them all. He stops to take a pic graciously with a fan, at one point has the CDJ give out, never lets anything phase his feelings in the music-all while delivering the best tracks with such soul. Thank YOU Laurent Garnier for sharing your gift with us ❤️
je pensais être déçu, par un dj un peu trop "dance", comme bob sinclar ou guetta, et je me retrouve devant un set fantastique, avec un "cador" aux commandes!!! ce mec est un pro, des transitions parfaites, un bon choix de musique, totalement concentré et imprégné par ce qu'il réalise et fait partager!!! on voit vraiment la différence entre une prestation de dj "naissant", et un "vieux de la vieille" comme laurent garnier!!! rien a rajouter à part " bravo MONSIEUR"!!!

he is the only dj i ever asked my whole life to spin a certain record. it was probably 1992 in frankfurts legendary omen. it took a while until he dropped the tune, but he did and i freaked. it was burger industries interstate 10. just remember it. good times

A monster set from an oldskool DJ. If I didn't know better, I'd say his style has morphed in Joe Clausell. Enjoy Laurent Garnier while he is still DJ-ing, because when he is gone, the next generation of DJ's are simply software DJ's using auto-mix.

juancs i think he does but i cant say for sure, i see some computers and digital equipment ...and i dont see him adjusting the pitch of the song to mix it.. its not that important really, i could sync 4x4 140bpm dub with one eye while im making pancakes with broken earphones and am ur avarage dj , i dont see anything that i couldnt do so i think its average mixing , not bad not impressive .. it really isnt all that important

Lots of people are slating Laurent Garnier on here, but all they are doing is talk. This guy has a long career mixing a selection of awesome tunes. Yes, the beatmatching is off at times, but that is only a small part of being a great DJ. His tune selection is great and there are wicked key changes. I dont mind listening to the few beat that are out. And to be honest, at some venues its hard to hear the beats. Nice one Laurent, more of the same please.
You have to understand that he never prepares a set. Some DJs will come with a set prepared, transitions all locked in. He doesn't. He believes in reading the room, reading what the people are ready to accept, how he can push them or not. It's all improv, he comes with a ton of tracks, and just chooses from what kind of people he sees once there. In interviews he almost feels insulted if people ask him whether he prepares anything or not.
The guy is unreal. Such high energy and passion. Always great to see!

I can't explain how much I love this set!!! This and Maceo Plex boiler sets are unreal. I wish I was in that crowd as its very tame for the magic that Laurent is producing. fantastic, and I don't think I'll ever get sick of it.

amazin set, you were out at 13:40 but nobody even noticed = God Level
If I’m not mistaken this is the boiler room I was apart of and 3 of the four extra CDJS malfunctioned and he was still having problems with the right deck, a few of us linked his laptop and he was able to complete his set with a massive amount of of drunk people and just focused on his mission. And it was one of the best parties I’ve ever been too

Garnier is a top level dj of course some of the comments are just ridiculous and are from people that only dj in their room... but Laurent is not in its little studio or in a club booth there, he is in a custom boiler room set up split up in 2 parts in a big festival with a huge sound system in front of him of which you don't know the quality and accuracy...
You can also see him struggle with the turntables and its headphones and the guy behind him, technical issues with the cdjs or bad returns ? : when you can't hear you cannot mix 100 % traktor like even if you're called "the wizard" jeff mills, and that is why big DJs are not reknown for their ability to perfectly sync tracks but for the feeling they convey with their track list and their tricks : their soul
Don't worry in the actual room the sound and feeling surely was much better than the track sync...
(and technical stuff : you can see he does not have the double digit cdj bpm on and is mixing vinyl like : track not analyzed ? newer or older version of cdj... ?)

Jeff Mills is The Man.
He’s using the number one tools all of us have and djs have. His ears, instinct, and your absolutely correct about things being so loud you can’t hear properly so your off sync a bit, but he’s using his instinct, ears, and the feeling coming out of the PA or sound setup which there’s always a delay when using that many speakers on that big of a system. Unless your dealing with some true professionals that know their business.
But overall garnier is top tier of djs, adjusted to the environment, stayed focused, most djs would lose their mind with some of the people that were behind him, but that just shows his skill and professionalism.

I'm so tired of people acting like you are not allowed to criticize a video on UA-cam. I'm only here first of all because UA-cam and Google know everything about me and they have a highly efficient algorithim that lays out twenty more perfect opportunities to waste even more time every time I watch a video. In this case I was watching DVS1 play The Boiler Room and next thing I know I'm here. Seeing DVS1's set may be the reason I think this one sucks though now that I think about it. :D
Don't know a whole lot about Laurnet Garnier but have heard his name enough to know he has skills (I would assume). Perhaps he just had an off day or didn't have a lot of time to construct a quality set...maybe he even had the flu....whatever...who cares....but this set sucks so stop upsetting yourself when people point it out. Laurnet would probably agree with me.
Either way it's all love......still gotta keep it real though right?
