I picked up my Race Red ST-3 5 door on 31 March. I had ordered a pre-facelift model back in September for December delivery, adding a Panoramic Roof to the spec. Ford changed the order to a facelift model for delivery in March. Ford honoured the original discounted price and fitted the Winter Pack and B&O free of charge. I’ve saved thousands of pounds. In the last few weeks the Panoramic Roof option has been deleted. Feel so lucky to get just what I wanted. The power fold mirrors are missing though. Apparently deleted across the whole Ford range due to the semiconductor shortage.

Recaros gone probably cost cutting not sure about the front face lift I think it will date quickly much preferred the Aston front that was cool should have left it and saved money.
Manufacturer will always bite at the chance to facelift cars, makes financial sense 💰 Making seats in house will always be cheaper than outsourcing plus it allows them to expand their 'Performance' side The looks have always been marmite with the Mk8, most so the rear end but like everything the looks will grow on people until the next generation comes out 🙈 Thanks for watching Seve! 👍🏼

I do love the paintwork on this car, I'm glad Ford offer lairy colours for their ST/RS models. I have to say the facelift has grown on me, but I wish they did something with the tail-lights as they still look off imo. Cool video though mate 😎
Mean Green is mega, shame they never brought the Green (Green Envy) that you got on the US market ST180's. The Mk8 rear end has grown on me to be honest, the more I see it; still can't beat the Mk7 in that department though 👌 Thanks for watching mate!
Hi Just picked up my MK8.5 Race Red ST3 this week and to my surprise Ford honoured my 3 door option, winter pack, been a long wait ordered mine back in November last year, disappointed with no power folding mirrors or door edge protectors but that is the problems with semiconductor shortages, just me but the gearbox feels like the gates are closer together, It definitely feels improved over my old ST2 MK8, love the Race Red I did think of the Green and changing my configuration, but it does fly under the radar a little, the green would attract more attention but I love it👍😁thanks for the MK8.5 content, keep it up👍

I ve just bought a 69 plate ST2, I detest sunroofs of any description ( mine hasn’t got 1), Rain sensing wipers are pointless, I ve had them on several cars, Ford & vw, unless the rain drops are in the right place they don’t work, so end up over riding them, I ve got variable intermittent in mine, (joy !), to delete the heated seats is a backward step for Ford, this was a big selling point for me to buy my ST2. Not keen on the fog lights being moved on this, ditto these new seats, they don’t look as good as the recaro’s. Interesting vid, cheers for posting 👍

Sunroofs are a personal preference, personally for me I can take or leave most of the time I'd leave it as it adds weight, complexity and at some point (long term ownership) mostly likely leaking Rain sensing wipers are nuisance, I stick to the old fashioned way doing it yourself; a big reason why I'm started to get a little fed up with new modern cars 👎🏼 The last I checked, you can get heated seats by specifying the 'Winter Pack' option not sure if that's still the case as Ford change their configurator more times than I've had hot dinners 🤣 I've actually got a full review coming soon where I chat more about the seats, I've since changed my view on them purely for the fact that they are much more comfortable especially for longer journeys Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts, appreciate the interaction with kind viewers like yourself 👍🏼

I currently have a 2020 ST line which is a decent enough car. I'll be going to the dealer shortly to see about getting an ST3 for next year. I'm wondering if they newer cars has the bloody annoying feature that tells me on the dashboard that I've just gotten in and that I've just put my seat belt on. Then it tells me the same if a passenger gets in sitting right next to me, then it tells me the same if anyone gets in the back! Does my head in and I can't switch it off! I also look forward to having some decent seats as the ones in the ST line are very much lacking.
That's a good question Larry! I personally didn't notice anything when I turned on the car (unfortunately didn't get to drive) I did however get this in the Mach E I tested late last year, weirdly it kept reminding me about rear occupants to make sure I don't forget them even though I never carried any LOL! Nice, but I'll be keeping my ST200 for now. Just got new wheels and tires for it as well. The 17" 10 spoke Ford performance wheels with brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires. Let's see if they come up with a more powerful version at the end of the MK8.5 life cycle. A Fiesta ST230, perhaps?
Probably will be a special edition to celebrate the end of the Mk8.5 life but doubt there will be a performance upgrade taking into account the last two special editions on the pre-facelift Mk8's (Performance & ST Edition) Never driven a Mk7 ST200, intrigued on the differences over a standard ST180! @@PocketRockets not to mention it's got another 4 years left. they May do a big send off and I doubt they will invest in a new pure petrol ST as it will be 2026 and the ban on new cars is 2030 for all combustion engine.. unles it's a hybrid / electric. That's my guess i think the next ST will be a fully hybrid car no mild hybrid stuff as they have up until 2035 I think.

Problem is they are stuck in a Catch 22 it's either no cars at all or some cars but still doesn't justify why they are still setting the price sky high 🙈

What I can’t believe is Fords customers are only finding out the loss of equipment after picking up there new cars. Ford dealers were are all advised of the omissions from the last model in September 21, but felt (or were advised) not to come clean with customers. I believe this is a clear case of miss-selling......
@@Steve-uf8pk it’s got nothing to do with miss selling the new car. It’s very clear from the options list what is standard and what is available as an option. We have a new Mean Green ST-3 on order and were fully aware of what isn’t fitted to the new cars that were on older models. It’s due to the world shortage of semi conductors. Anyone claiming they’ve been mis sold a car simply haven’t done any of their own research. Our Ford dealer made it clear why these things weren’t available.
Did you noticed that the wheels are all the same and so not good in a optical way? One side its pointing towards the front in a clock way made and other side its automatically towards the back. This because the wheels are all "bend" clockwise. All brands have this stupid thing.
@@PocketRockets I saw it! Your right MK7 isn't that bad. I also have an Escape SE hybrid (Kuga across the pond). I just like the updated exterior styling and the interior of the MK8 plus the digital dash is way nicer.
Concerning the seats; you did forget to mention that besides they have heigth adjustment, independently of this you can change the seat angle! In basic these are, I think, the same as the AGR seats in my Focus. One question, how is the width compares with the Recaro's? I didn't fit very well, they where very narrow (back is ok, but seat is not), and that was a general complaint. It was also the only reason why I didn't buy the Fiesta ST in 2020!
Changing seat angle is normal for all seats so didn't think to mention in all honesty Slightly wider but you don't notice it too much as the sides are bolstered more than before for a better fit Thanks for watching and commenting Jos!
No it doesn't I'm afraid, it's the old fashioned way instead With Performance Pack specified, you get flat floot shifting so you can change gear with the 100% throttle along with Launch Control Thanks for watching Sage!
Hi mate,so disappointed with this facelift. Really don’t like the front end at all. I’ve got the Azura Blue Edition, much prefer how the bonnet slopes down, front end on these is a bit higher and therefore more square looking. Headlights are ok, although I prefer the aesthetics of the ice cube look of the pre facelift. Frustrated that they’ve just blanked off the old fog light surrounds, thought they could have done some sort of air scoop as on the 128ti, missed a trick there I think.🤔Like the rear lights being slightly smoked. The seats are ok, but I still like the Recaro’s. Not a big fan of the digital dash, looks like an Audi TT I test drove a few years ago. And lastly I absolutely hate this colour, I find it very understated, coming from someone who’s last two ST’s have been orange and bright blue…..😂😂🧡💙Just so many cars on the road with the same shade of green, and one of those is a Corsa!🤮I’ve also seen Ibizas, Ka’s, Fabia’s, one of the little Toyota’s etc etc, not good. I keep seeing this green coming down the road, think it’s an ST and I’ll give them a flash, turns out it’s a poxy Corsa!🙄😂😂Sorry to be so negative, I’m absolutely gutted, not sure what I’ll be buying when I trade the Edition in whenever, may have to go back to a Beamer? 😱Sorry to ramble on. #frustrated🤬😢😂

The new revised front end certainly has brought back from decisive opinions that's for sure 🙈 I've actually had the same car (ST3 revision) from Ford UK for the week, literally just got collected a few days ago so there will be a full review and 0-60 video coming in the next few weeks I did prefer the new seats compared to the Recaros, much better for longer distances; did a trip to Wetherby from Essex (400 miles return trip) and they didn't give me any problems Mean Green helps make the car look better to look at in comparison to other colours on offer but when comparing to Azure Blue or Deep Orange, it's third best I agree No need to apologise, your view/opinion is welcome here Thanks for tuning in and commenting mate 👍🏼

To be honest I prefer the less “in your face” look of mine, but I don’t have a problem with the 8.5 seats. Be interesting to see how they wear over time.🤔I’ve got a glass back so the heated seats are a Godsend.🙄😂 Anyway I’ll keep an eye out for your video over the coming weeks. Have you got any plans to do anything with the 128ti? It’s a possibility for me in the future if I can’t fall in love with the ST. No Naomi, strangely they did at the start of production and then stopped and stuck with 5 door ST3s now (mainly they are struggling with production demand) Really it makes more sense as you get a car with every option apart from the 3 optional bits as mentioned in the video Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍🏼

If your going to buy one of these IT HAS to be the st3… Front lights and wheels alone make all the difference to this car. Digital display, keyless entry, Matt carbon trim on the dash , winter pack , B&0…… And has to be 3 door. Why on earth did you buy this ??
Firstly, thanks for stopping by and hopefully watching too, there seems to be some confusion so let me address below 1. The car doesn't belong to me, was provided by a kind follower of the channel 2. The looks are subjective as for any car, so just my opinion (I currently have Ford UK's car on loan for test and I'm still unsure of the looks) 3. 3 doors are no longer available to buy 4. Keyless entry just attracts thieves, so ideally would do without it 5. The owner/follower had the opportunity to get this ST2 version as at the time there were lack of new cars available 6. The lights are fantastic, high beam assist is a life saver!
Unfortunately it's competing against crossover SUV's, EV's and other petrolhead killing machines 😌 Just because it's supposedly not seen as a Top 10 car in the UK, doesn't mean it's a bad car - it's far from bad Thanks for watching Terence!
@@PocketRockets people are still looking at the size of car and many are looking at the peugeot based vauxhall corsa. For a number of years ford has topped the sales car with the cortina, escort then focus and fiesta. It was more a comment about the change in car buying then any thing about the current car
Mentioning that it's a mild-hybrid would have been good. Another possible reason for the seat change is the fact that the Recaros were too narrow for a lot of customers.
The looks (both interior & exterior) will always be subjective as it's individual taste personally I like the new front end; in the flesh, it looks more aggressive over the pre-facelift and the seats although they look quite intense, they are much nicer/to live with for everyday use. The one element I will agree with you is the price, over £27k for a Fiesta is mental and completely unacceptable but the whole industry is like it - It's not quite as expensive as a GR Yaris (£34k), it makes the Fiesta even worse cost wise on paper when comparing to the GR as the car is in a different league Crazy to think I bought an Mk3 Focus RS brand new when they first arrived for £28k! I know Glen, I made it clear - a ST2 isn't as equipped as a ST3 Although despite that fact, they aren't miles apart from each other; but doesn't matter much these days as you can only spec a new ST as a 5 door ST3 Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍
Is it? Performance back is nearly always gone for on the ST2 anyway and apart from the LSD, it's gimmicky, the red callipers and LEDs are aesthetic only, the digital dash is very buggy according to owners on the forums. The B&O system isn't included anymore and bigger alloys are a preference rather than an upgrade. I'd say it's not much of a higher spec, more of a styling upgrade. I'd be interested to know if you've driven the 8 and if the increased torque of the 8.5 makes any difference?

I will be getting one at some point from Ford UK to test for a week so a full review will be on the cards I doubt it's noticeable as Ford will have mapped the increase all the way through the rev range instead lower down for example but that's just an educated guess from experience Thanks for watching!

But I do hear they can be added later if you want to.

@@PocketRockets not to mention it's got another 4 years left. they May do a big send off and I doubt they will invest in a new pure petrol ST as it will be 2026 and the ban on new cars is 2030 for all combustion engine.. unles it's a hybrid / electric. That's my guess i think the next ST will be a fully hybrid car no mild hybrid stuff as they have up until 2035 I think.

@@PocketRockets Totally agree, Ford are making a huge mistake thinking they can cut back due to chip shortages on this model. The people who buy a new ST often won’t realise until after receiving their new car........
Problem is they are stuck in a Catch 22 it's either no cars at all or some cars but still doesn't justify why they are still setting the price sky high 🙈
@@PocketRockets I Totally agree, about the the inflated price of the new model since the pre-facelift ST. What I can’t believe is Fords customers are only finding out the loss of equipment after picking up there new cars. Ford dealers were are all advised of the omissions from the last model in September 21, but felt (or were advised) not to come clean with customers.
I believe this is a clear case of miss-selling......
@@Steve-uf8pk it’s got nothing to do with miss selling the new car. It’s very clear from the options list what is standard and what is available as an option. We have a new Mean Green ST-3 on order and were fully aware of what isn’t fitted to the new cars that were on older models.
It’s due to the world shortage of semi conductors. Anyone claiming they’ve been mis sold a car simply haven’t done any of their own research. Our Ford dealer made it clear why these things weren’t available.
Did you notice what size wheels and tire size was the pilot sports on?
17" as it's an ST2 and tyre spec is 205/45 88Y
For reference, 18" are 205/40 86Y

Did you noticed that the wheels are all the same and so not good in a optical way? One side its pointing towards the front in a clock way made and other side its automatically towards the back.
This because the wheels are all "bend" clockwise.
All brands have this stupid thing.

I'm stuck with a 2018 Fiesta ST MK7 US version since Ford of America pulled the plug on these cars.

@@PocketRockets I saw it! Your right MK7 isn't that bad. I also have an Escape SE hybrid (Kuga across the pond). I just like the updated exterior styling and the interior of the MK8 plus the digital dash is way nicer.
The updates are nice but both cars are equally as good so makes it a tough decider 🙈
Concerning the seats; you did forget to mention that besides they have heigth adjustment, independently of this you can change the seat angle! In basic these are, I think, the same as the AGR seats in my Focus. One question, how is the width compares with the Recaro's? I didn't fit very well, they where very narrow (back is ok, but seat is not), and that was a general complaint. It was also the only reason why I didn't buy the Fiesta ST in 2020!
Changing seat angle is normal for all seats so didn't think to mention in all honesty
Slightly wider but you don't notice it too much as the sides are bolstered more than before for a better fit

Hi mate,so disappointed with this facelift. Really don’t like the front end at all. I’ve got the Azura Blue Edition, much prefer how the bonnet slopes down, front end on these is a bit higher and therefore more square looking. Headlights are ok, although I prefer the aesthetics of the ice cube look of the pre facelift. Frustrated that they’ve just blanked off the old fog light surrounds, thought they could have done some sort of air scoop as on the 128ti, missed a trick there I think.🤔Like the rear lights being slightly smoked. The seats are ok, but I still like the Recaro’s. Not a big fan of the digital dash, looks like an Audi TT I test drove a few years ago. And lastly I absolutely hate this colour, I find it very understated, coming from someone who’s last two ST’s have been orange and bright blue…..😂😂🧡💙Just so many cars on the road with the same shade of green, and one of those is a Corsa!🤮I’ve also seen Ibizas, Ka’s, Fabia’s, one of the little Toyota’s etc etc, not good. I keep seeing this green coming down the road, think it’s an ST and I’ll give them a flash, turns out it’s a poxy Corsa!🙄😂😂Sorry to be so negative, I’m absolutely gutted, not sure what I’ll be buying when I trade the Edition in whenever, may have to go back to a Beamer? 😱Sorry to ramble on. #frustrated🤬😢😂

I've actually had the same car (ST3 revision) from Ford UK for the week, literally just got collected a few days ago so there will be a full review and 0-60 video coming in the next few weeks
I did prefer the new seats compared to the Recaros, much better for longer distances; did a trip to Wetherby from Essex (400 miles return trip) and they didn't give me any problems
Mean Green helps make the car look better to look at in comparison to other colours on offer but when comparing to Azure Blue or Deep Orange, it's third best I agree

To be honest I prefer the less “in your face” look of mine, but I don’t have a problem with the 8.5 seats. Be interesting to see how they wear over time.🤔I’ve got a glass back so the heated seats are a Godsend.🙄😂 Anyway I’ll keep an eye out for your video over the coming weeks. Have you got any plans to do anything with the 128ti? It’s a possibility for me in the future if I can’t fall in love with the ST. No Naomi, strangely they did at the start of production and then stopped and stuck with 5 door ST3s now (mainly they are struggling with production demand)
Really it makes more sense as you get a car with every option apart from the 3 optional bits as mentioned in the video

Firstly, thanks for stopping by and hopefully watching too, there seems to be some confusion so let me address below
1. The car doesn't belong to me, was provided by a kind follower of the channel
2. The looks are subjective as for any car, so just my opinion (I currently have Ford UK's car on loan for test and I'm still unsure of the looks)
3. 3 doors are no longer available to buy
4. Keyless entry just attracts thieves, so ideally would do without it
5. The owner/follower had the opportunity to get this ST2 version as at the time there were lack of new cars available
6. The lights are fantastic, high beam assist is a life saver!

For a number of years ford has topped the sales car with the cortina, escort then focus and fiesta. It was more a comment about the change in car buying then any thing about the current car

Mentioning that it's a mild-hybrid would have been good. Another possible reason for the seat change is the fact that the Recaros were too narrow for a lot of customers.

Ruined the wheels, ruined the lights, ruined the seats, ruined the grill and are also now charging nearly as much as a GR Yaris!
The looks (both interior & exterior) will always be subjective as it's individual taste personally I like the new front end; in the flesh, it looks more aggressive over the pre-facelift and the seats although they look quite intense, they are much nicer/to live with for everyday use.
The one element I will agree with you is the price, over £27k for a Fiesta is mental and completely unacceptable but the whole industry is like it - It's not quite as expensive as a GR Yaris (£34k), it makes the Fiesta even worse cost wise on paper when comparing to the GR as the car is in a different league
Crazy to think I bought an Mk3 Focus RS brand new when they first arrived for £28k!

I did state in the video, Ford only offer a 5 door ST3 configuration only; first customer orders got the brief opportunity to spec 2 door ST2 & ST3s before Ford changed it

I know Glen, I made it clear - a ST2 isn't as equipped as a ST3
Although despite that fact, they aren't miles apart from each other; but doesn't matter much these days as you can only spec a new ST as a 5 door ST3

Is it? Performance back is nearly always gone for on the ST2 anyway and apart from the LSD, it's gimmicky, the red callipers and LEDs are aesthetic only, the digital dash is very buggy according to owners on the forums. The B&O system isn't included anymore and bigger alloys are a preference rather than an upgrade. I'd say it's not much of a higher spec, more of a styling upgrade.
I'd be interested to know if you've driven the 8 and if the increased torque of the 8.5 makes any difference?

I doubt it's noticeable as Ford will have mapped the increase all the way through the rev range instead lower down for example but that's just an educated guess from experience
