i bought a 2019 plate, fully loaded with every optional extra ford gives, i am in my mid sixties and i have been driving 50 years, i find my st3 a work of art, its fast agile handling never fails to make me feel young, cant praise it enough.!!
I'm 57, and have never grown up as far as car concerned. Been driving Octavia vRS's and a Cupra 280 in the last decade, half of which were remapped. I'm about to change my Superb 220PS Sportline for something cheaper / smaller as I use it a lot for business and lose money every time. I was about to buy a Corolla 2L Hybrid, but your comment has made me rethink this. My only concern is that 80% of my mileage is on the M4/M5, so a fizzy hatch probably isn't ideal, but frankly I don't give a toss!
@@steviesteve750 mk8 st3, is far from fizzy, it is a refined sports car, 5 seats, a very handy hatchback, it behaves like big car on motorways, on the b roads its a sports car, and wifey goes shopping and adores it. its been refined and ford did it proud, this car is a future classic, a great motor. go test one....
Great video, thanks for posting. I got my ST3 in October and I’ve never been more excited about my commute to work since day one, and I’m 60 years old! They are a great little car, practical yet so much fun.
Traded my white mk7.5 ST in a few weeks ago for a mk8.5 ST3, 3door version in Race Red with all options fitted including the panoramic roof, only 6000miles on it. Its been fantastic so far, a huge upgrade in every way over my mk7, the seats are brilliant and it even has a heated steering wheel, thought id never use it but now have it on every journey.
They really are cracking little cars and I'd still say they're good value for money. I find the i20N just too challenging visually and the Polo GTI too dull all round. Thanks for upload.
Thats really how it is. Polo GTI is boring, i20N has nice lines but specially the rear is a mess, and the Fiesta ST really looks the best, has a interior that offers everything you need and if you can get one with a sunroof you hit the jackpot
Just bought a 2022 St3 fiesta 5 door absolutely love it, it's quick, comfortable around town and sounds so good. The torque is very good mid range but i love it. Brilliant review everything you have said is true
I've just bought one of these also in mean green. I wanted a I20N as well but 1.9% APR verus 12.9% made the decision for me. Only covered 300 miles in it but it's superb so far 👍
Ford cheaped out on a lot of parts on these. And removed a few things, such as heated and power folding mirrors. Change the battery from the tiddly EFB to a bigger AGM, fit better discs and pads, and change the gearbox oil to Ravenol MTF2, and a remap, and the car is so much better.
Nice cars, and one that I am considering for my next purchase. I think i prefer the pre-facelift looks though. The later grille looks like the one on a transit.
Really great video buddy! I collect mine on Friday and this has really helped me to know what to expexct living with it day to day, thanks a lot for sharing :)
Thanks for the video. The i20N might be a great car but it is a chunky 20+% more expensive than the ST here in NZ. Now discontinued I know, but I'm glad I put my deposit down on the ST in Q1 of'22 before I heard the sad news of its demise. No news of when my car might be shipped but, I'm happy to wait. Must add the i20N leaves me a bit cold to be honest. Too clinical and it lacks the character of the 3cyl engine .
Very happy with my MK8 here in Norway..like you I actually prefer how it looks to the 'facelift' (including the old style dash and controls although that is all personal) ..great pity a lot of the Mk8 features vanished with the chip shortage thing. The i20N is also a terrific car..personal choices again..they are both so good, just a little different.Great review again ....
I have one new mk8.5 frozen white. Excellent car. Only one strange think. The wheel in mine perfectly center and the car goes perfectly forward, but the ärch where the wheel goes up down, in and out seems a little not perfectly aligned . Like a mm that give the impression that the wheel is not center but if i look only at the wheel it seems perfectly centered and also the logo ST perfectly horizonal when the tire are in neutral position. Sorry for my english.
Im in the same predicament atm. Knowing now that this year is the last year i'll likely be able to by a new ST, ill be going for that, which ill need to give back in a couple of years, at which point i can look at the i20N again.
Great review mate! I’m looking at getting one of these on PCP as it’s great value for money when you do it via PCP and I can just swap for a newer model.
Same here. I started with '85 XR2 then a '87 RS TURBO followed by '90 205 GTI 1.6 LE, then '02 Puma and now I drive a White '17 Mark 7.5 Fiesta ST 🤩🤩🤩🎯🎯
Lovely video. Great shame they are discontinuing both this one and the focus ST. I will add, at the end I thought you were compairing the focus and fiesta, but you were referring to the i20N. As an owner of the Focus ST, I could live with also having the Fiesta ST, for chucking down single track country lanes, I just simply don't contemplate in Orange. The Fiesta is a cracking little car, but that was it, too small for me, literally.
The two cars are utterly different, a lot think the focus ST is just a bigger fiesta ST, it isn't. If I may, the fiesta st is like a rollerskate, whereas the focus st is like an expensive longboard on quality large diameter urethane wheels. The ride and ride quality in my opinion are like chalk and cheese. You only need to drive or be a passenger for 100 yards and the difference is as stark as chalk and cheese. Back in dec 19 went out in the fiesta st, really liked it, but it was just too small a car for me as the driver and for my needs, so stumped up the extra and had my orange fury focus st delivered mid 2020. You only need to take a look at any of the vids on my channel and you will see the difference in ride from the fiesta above to the focus st on its electronc adaptive dampers.
A little tricky to answer as don't forget the Focus ST is available with adaptive dampers, so there are variables. I think Diamus100 offered a a pretty good metaphor 👍🏽. Thanks for watching.
@@ogloftus yeah values should hold firm now they’ve been discontinued. I drove a M8 for 3 years with no depreciation basically when I sold it end of ‘21 although I only put 12k on it

Great review. POV great idea. This car was insanely good value in Australia. (about GBP20K on the road) yet no longer for sale. Very disappointed as it is a car I had been hoping to buy in two or three years.
I wouldn't necessarily say it's an easy choice, the Hyundai has more kit as standard and offers better value. I also suspect it will be the sharper car around a track. Thanks for watching 👍🏽.
Two small things.. subjective maybe but those seats are hideous that chunk of black plastic on the top of the seats is Halfords fantastic naff .. and mean green 💚 I think it's more Asda green 😂😂

I have a 3 door in mean green, they stopped making them early on. Had it a year now 💚
It also has forged rods because Ford wanted to decrease engine movement and noise as it’s a 3 cylinder
