I saw a title of a video saying he was friends with a white supremacist. I can't stand for that. Nevertheless, he's taking an interesting approach to the KKK.
He's a good listener. Even when he does comment, he's not constantly interrupting. Another pet peeve I have for some interviewers is when they take 5 minutes to ask a question b/c they're also trying to guess the answer at the same time. Why can't they just ask a question, shut up and let the person answer instead of trying to ask and then answer it at the same time? Why do they call it a pet peeve? I don't have any pets, and if I did, I wouldn't want a pet peeve.

Amazing storyteller, he's living on a higher spiritual plane than most of us, I wish more people could hear this message. What an outstanding model of humility and love.
I love one thing Mr. Davis said here..."Why should I be offended by someone who knows nothing about me?" He is so right. So many times, we give the wrong people and their words power in our lives. Chances are...the folks you are letting run you down, or get into your head....are twisted up themselves, and not able to deal..so they project their issues and problem onto others.
Indeed. Unfortunately, with issues like racism....that twist goes every direction. People all over the world are hating people just based on what color they see. Racism has been like an infection on humanity. Which is far worse than a disease..diseases kill, then they are done...infections sit there..and fester, and, if left be, they spread...and that infection does not care what color of person it gets into...left untouched...it turns septic....and finds itself being passed down and on to others.
Race, Class, Gender, Religion, any difference between us that can be magnified to make one feel superior to the other. It seems that if you get one to level off, or even subside a little..the others pick up the slack. I do think we can make progress in all of these. The problem is....only one things fixes ignorance. That is knowledge. People have to be willing to accept it, and learn from it. That is and has always been the difficult part. Not the knowledge...that has been available the whole time. The people. Possibly the hardest thing on Earth to change. I include myself. I had to learn, too.
@@cobfucious Many years ago, my family and I lived in an apartment complex that I called Welfare Town. It was low income, with half of the families being Latino. A couple of blocks away there was an elementary school which my kids attended. Before the beginning of the school year, I received a notice that my kids will have to attend another school, which was twice as far away. I ascertained that parents in the wealthier neighborhoods had got the geographic boundaries redrawn, so that our kids wouldn't mix with theirs. In my mind, there was no other explanation. @mr thompson m Lol. Don't be fooled by this portrait. I am no fan of Obama, in fact I have some *very* personal problems with him.
I believe I heard him in a Ted talk.
I'm 15 minutes in and I already have so much respect for Mr. Davis
I enjoyed listening to this guy, tells good stories and in detail. Quite remarkable
"I'm a musician I cant chase the Klan around on a Saturday." 😂😂
So casual lmao
Damn, Lansky haven't heard from you since Queenzflip kicked everybody out.
@k Bact thank you, your wild generalization has been very helpful
"Everyone likes music.. even the kkk" 😂😂
k Bact STFU!!!
I heard about this man for years.
He needs to take care of himself so he can live alot longer and share these stores, but most importantly teach people to just *TALK* our differences out and find common ground.
That only works if you're talking to racist white people, good luck on talking racist Hispanics on liking black people or vice versa
Sounds easy. You must have never been black ever.
@@mr.dr0bot731 White people are the least racist of all - that's obvious.
Thunderstruck que¿
We need to alleviate the ignorance that is fueling all of this hate.
This is an all time favorite. What a very wise man! We could certainly use more like him
Mr. Davis, your story is a Great example of how real gangsters act towards each other. (on Both sides of the table, you included)

So this black man and white woman walk into a Klan bar...
😂
... "His IQ is 180, we can't touch him. He is sub-lim-in-ul." XD
Well that’s pretty racist for you to assume Roger Kelly wouldn’t shoot Daryl Davis’s Secretary if I was Roger Kelly I’d shoot both but It’s just a matter of perspective jk though I wouldn’t shoot neither Mary or Daryl Davis, or Roger Kelly, and his “WOLF KNIGHT” or whatever.
@@IsraelCountryCube yeah sure you would keyboard warrior pmsl!

Very wise gentlemen. I have much respect for you sir. I hope you have many platforms to help educate. I agree if we go to the source of the issue than we can have good results. Thank you for your story. Even if we don't agree on things we can at least respect one another.
This interview had me captivated he should make this story into a movie
“Why should I be offended by someone who knows nothing about me” 👍 thx I will keep that note. 16:20
I've lived by that quote for 15 years now, ever since my father told me it when I was 12.
He said it a bit different though. "Why should you be offended by people who dont walk in your shoes, or pay your Bill's, or put food on your table?"
Haters, will hate you regardless of what you do. That’s Life.
I wish I knew this when I was younger would saved me from a lot of problems
I saw a title of a video saying he was friends with a white supremacist. I can't stand for that. Nevertheless, he's taking an interesting approach to the KKK.
This. This is so timely. I solute you sir!
I cleared my throat over 117 times during this video.
TheSecretRiddle19 now that you’d aid this I can’t stop thinking abt it
He cleared his once near the start and became more hoarse!!
Thank you!
Must be some good bud
What I was thinking.. "clear your throat dude, even if you gotta just do one of those quick five second coughs! Please!"
The way he describes the nighthawk and boss walking into the room reminds me how Sub Zero and Scorpion walked thru that door in MK1 😂😂😂
Thank you Joe Rogan for doing this interview and Daryl Davis for sharing your experience and solution.
Joe. The only interviewer to let the interviewee finish what they're saying.
🤣
Have you heard moms basment podcast. Its like youtube based podcast on spotify. They interupt eachother so much
And that was no small feat for someone as long winded and repetitious as this guy
JR is just a smart dude all the way around, period. he gets life

Courageous man.
By far one of the best episodes I’ve seen
Jesus christ someone give him a glass of water, for crying out loud

Gotta appreciate Joe's style of interviewing. He actually lets his host speak unlike most of the other "interviewers"
Mahela Munasinghe *cough* ethan klein *cough*
Who
חניבעל אלוה עברי PHAROAH BTL PRODUCTIONS H3H3 Productions
He would be letting the guest speak not the host. Due to the fact its jre joe rogans show with him being the host and others being the guest
This is the only guy in the world who could narrate a documentary about James Earl Jones.
Yeaaaa
It's a must
That would be epic!

LOL amazing comment
This is one of the best vids on youtube
I had to turn my sub-woofer down, this guy's voice was making my desk shake.
hahaha facts bruh
Who listens to joe rogan with a fucking sub woofer

Daryl Davis is an intelligent man, a brave man, a social warrior, a person to admire, and above all else, a man who knows the value of conversation.
Q S exactly, this man is a true social warrior, he has figured out that the only way to fix the divide in our nation is to become friends with ur enemy, that is the only way to truly stop the conflict between yourself and them, instead most of these leftist sjws would rather worsen the conflict and react more negatively
@@keankolodziejski1605 Come on most of you anti sjw's, don't know what socialism is. Have you tries talking to someone from the left. Like Daryl says.. I bet you go crazy if someone laughs at Trump or whatever.

The guy is for sure a writer. He’s so descriptive you can go beyond imagining the scene. You can almost feel it.
I know exactly what you are saying because I could almost see the hotel room...the color of the curtains... EVERYTHING.....I don't know what they were but I could see it in my mind....
@@tboysrocknroll8848 That little pressboard IKEA style table pulled out into the middle of the room, with him sitting at one end. Curtains drawn for privacy.

@@stevanhaire5300 their ideology is based in knowledge and historical dynamics. Do not be confused by thier grunts and loud-mouths.
@dhsilv2 yes they base their platitudes on a perverted interpretation of history, anthropology, etc. They believe that when an integrated society is left to its own devices they will be eventually filtered out. They aim to sabotage and destroy the black race.

Incredible interview. Wonderful man
Amazing storyteller, he's living on a higher spiritual plane than most of us, I wish more people could hear this message. What an outstanding model of humility and love.
This has nothing to do with “spirituality”.
Those twisted up folks are on both sides of the racial aisle.
@@cobfucious Classes, too.
I've resented the wealthy ever since.
