Redman is one of my heroes in and out of the booth. His personality reminds me of why I fell in love with Hip Hop. Be cool, be humble, but if someone tests or steps - be a savage. Easily one of the most respected lyricists within the legendary circle of rap but also one of the most down to earth people to ever grace the mic. Kids need to appreciate his catalogue and history more beyond the bars and hooks!!
its amazing how k-solo still has his own unique style after all of these years, still sounds fresh today, nobody has bitten that. hit squad was the crew tho...redman, solo, diggity das efx, epmd, keith murray. in their prime even wu tang couldn't fuck with them.
I love his loudness, he's my favorite rapper! I'm so happy I finally got to see him and Meth live last weekend, meeting them at the end was a total surprise it was amazing! I'm definitely feeling blessed.
I bet Redman has stories for day's. I would love for him to drop a book about his life in and out of the industry. He's always been honest without trying to be an ass hole.
Didn't think about it, but now... that I read your comment. Lol... I do prefer him (& Mef) with their braids, tho. Envy the chick that gets to braid it up.
Funk Doctor is the man! Been rocking with him since I was about 12. Red is just one them dudes in hip-hop who is just a lovable guy. It's hard to not like a song that he's on. His punchlines and rugged and humorous style is just awesome. Shout out to Jersey!
I remember my first year in Atlanta moving out from OAKLAND in like 92...met Red before he got on at Jack the Rapper, T-shirt half on, wild hair, with a Cigar in his headband... LOVE THIS DUDE
+Edgar Dominguez There's so many more tracks we could throw in! "Da Journee"... especially when smoking that exotic. There's "Creepin'", "The Secret", "Slide & Rock On", "Redman Meets Reggie Noble", "Sooperman Lover II", "I'll Be Dat", and many, many more bangers.
Red has been my dude from day 1. We're around the same age. I actually moved from Queens to a town over from Newark as a kid and funny how a few yrs ago, I noticed this dude would be at my old gym on a reg basis. Never spoke to him, oddly, but he did try to share a joke with me once when near each other. I laughed and kept it moving. That said, dude is "how high" in this interview. Ha. And he severely mispoke. De La was doing skits before he even had an album, and yes, they are East Coast. Lol.
Redman, Vlad...."De La Soul" was the first one's to do a album with skits, in 1989 with their first album. They were actually offended when other rappers did it after them because it became corny and trendy. Your skits were dope also Redman. Prince Paul produced that "De La Soul" platinum masterpiece!
I rolled my first blunt a year after hearing red man album . My uncle use to have it in them tan envelopes but after red dropped everybody in my hood was blazing and sippin Saint ides
I lived in a one-bedroom apt with my wife and two kids for a while, and always slept on the couch (for birth control purposes :) ). I know the feeling. And I could have sworn 2 Live Crew did a skit or two on their early albums. Could be wrong though.
I love how Red give it up to what was going on around him at the time. “Latifah a day Trech was doin this.” “K-Solo was doing this...” Respect Red! ✊🏾👊🏾
Nobody thought Red and Solo was brothers because they were born on the same day ... We thought they were brothers because Y'all looked so much a like ....
Redman was birth and created to be a savage on the mic. When these new DJs and rappers act like he ain't nice or he's just some old head the automatically play themselves. Redman is a pure MC with hits and will embarrass your favorite rapper.
+WyZe yeah.. Redman must be high. cause De la & Prince Paul was the beginning of ALL THAT! but interviews on the fly can cause momentary lapses. he ain't lying about Cypress hill though... damn!
I will forever remember that Cribs episode.

Am I the only one that want him to take his hat off, even for a quick second?
Nah he got the super push back
Didn't think about it, but now... that I read your comment. Lol... I do prefer him (& Mef) with their braids, tho. Envy the chick that gets to braid it up.

The production on his first album was groundbreaking
I remember my first year in Atlanta moving out from OAKLAND in like 92...met Red before he got on at Jack the Rapper, T-shirt half on, wild hair, with a Cigar in his headband... LOVE THIS DUDE
I never listen to hip hop but there are a few guys who I always watch in interviews. Redman is one of them.
Can't wait, Whateva man, & Funkorama are my top 3 Redman hits.
What about Tonight's the night? or nah. Uses same song sample as can't wait.
Funkorama!
I agree with you but I gotta throw in one more track......BOBYAHEAD2DIS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
How High, Ill Be Dat, Lets Get Dirty
De La been doing skits before Redman. If you wanna get technical you can consider the outro on LL's second LP as a skit.
"another album, WE DID IT AGAIN..." 😂😂 yell
+BOX5 BASTARD No doubt bro.
De La Soul did skits in 1989..
I just posted that and Blacksheep had skits
3rd Bass had some ill ass skits too, Lol.

Yeah De La and Prince Paul are usually given the credit with creating the skit in hip hop. Maybe Red wasn’t really a fan of theirs to know that.
Sorry, De La Soul was doing skits before 1991 on the East Coast. 1988. Other than that. Respect to Redman.
I played my 'Whut? Thee Album' cassette so much the tape broke
I still have the tape
Redman, Vlad...."De La Soul" was the first one's to do a album with
