Vanilla Ice sat down with DJ Vlad again to continue their discussion on Vanilla Ice's life and career. The rapper explained the circumstances surrounding his birth, revealing why he never knew his biological father and his mother getting married seven times. He also broke down his entry into Hip-Hop and the origins of the "Ice Ice Baby" chant. Despite dropping out of school at 16 to pursue financial opportunities in rap and motocross, he still had run-ins with the law and was involved in violent incidents. Vanilla Ice opened up about his days opening for rappers, such as Sir Mix-a-Lot, as well as a brief romance with Madonna. He also talked about securing brand partnerships with Nike and Coca-Cola at the height of his success before adopting a Rastafarian lifestyle to escape the pressures of fame. Throughout the rest of the interview, Vanilla Ice discussed 2Pac and Biggie passing away, participating in celebrity boxing, getting into real estate, and much more.
Rappers who called him fake owe him an apology, Vanilla Ice was truly about that life and has experienced true redemption
Exactly
his fake stories lol
Say what you want about the guy but he's the only rapper famous as fuck off one song rich as fuck too no vanilla ice no eminem. He's sold more records than any rapper not saying he's the best but he's humble and I wonder if them 3rd base dudes have to say at the end of the day
@@Luisferrer-e8v man he says he sold more than eminem gotta be true lol
They were just jealous. Vanilla ice was super cool
Dude has more street cred than 90% of the rappers from the past and present, and doesn't glorify any of it. Good for him.
😂😂😂😂
@@GOCHICAGOTV1no he doesn't you goon
This is what good looks like
Same as MC hammer even too short would admit that about Hammer
🤣
Vanilla seems chill and comfortable with his place in life, refreshing from half of the ego maniacs that come on here.
he has no choicde but to seem kinda chill when youre the biggest joke in hiphop and almost made it impossible for another white person be in hiphop without having true talent
He's awesome! I love his stories!😊
Dude seems like a cool ass guy to hang out with
He would be a blast 💥 to hang out with.. I’m happy for him being settled down now happily married with his kids! I bet he’s an amazing father too!! 😊
Maybe, but I don’t think I could handle more than a few minutes of the way he still talks in rap rhymes & clichés without busting out laughing.
The guy is literally a legend, lol. Yeah, he would be cool to hang out with.
Did you know double clicking a comment gives it a like?
It WORKED!!!!!!! WOW!!!Too Funny 😂
It worked 😀
Wow
Cool tip
Wow that’s hilarious.. never tried it b4
Ice is a legit motorcross rider. When i was around 10 (33 now) i watched him flying 30 feet in the air doing knack knacks ect. I even have a picture of him doing it that ive kept to this day ❤
I used to LOVE Motocross!! Jeff Ward and Jeremy Mcgrath was my idol! I raced from age 6-9 ...
Did not know he dated madonna, eww , he’s lucky to have dodged the demons
lol! If you say so
That is not true...that was the lie his manager told to make him sound cool
@@isabellavalencia8026 he most definitely was a pro rider 🤦
I have a huge amount of respect for any man who loves his mama. Big up to you Vanilla Ice!
And his wife..
the guy was brilliant even the black guys couldnt believe he was white ............... one off hit one off guy
I was her neighbor growing up. She let all the kids in the neighborhood use her pool. Fun times.
Without a doubt bro
Who's my dad? 😂😂😂 Man I love this guy's energy and humbleness 🫡🫡🫡
As a kid in '94 my mom made me sign a contract saying "I will still listen to rap when I'm 40" (thinking it could never happen). I'm 40 now and not only do I still listen to rap, I mainly listen to 90s rap... take that mom😄
Most of the things you like in childhood u still like in adult hood
I hear you bro, me too😂 I’m 39 and I started listening to rap full time the exact same year, ‘94. I was listening before 94, but in 94 (4th grade) I was moved out to Richmond CA with my aunt because both my parents were in prison, and being around all black and Latino kids, it was all about rap and I’ve never looked back lol
@@thepistolguy859I’m 28, I asked an OG in life to drop game, he was going into his 70s. He said a few things, but one that made me get existential.
He said growing up is simply maturity and you’re actively working towards that greater maturity. However, you never stop liking or doing the same things you liked in your minor years and early adulthood. Your body just becomes too weak to keep doing it over decades. If you stop doing these things and stop searching for new experiences, youre depressed or your marriage sucks.
So do you and don’t stop. If you like clubbing, you may not want to be a weekend warrior as a mature adult with responsibilities but if that’s your thing, you will do it. Music, you will never stop liking specific genres, just the current wave artists are on. Rock climbing, you’re probably going to continue doing it once a week, etc. Never stop being you, if your bills are taken care of, you aren’t burdening anyone, be unapologetically you.
Amazing

Great interview, Vanilla Ice is still cool as hell, what a career, keeping it real from day 1.
Thanks for sharing with us !!
Fascinating! Best interview I've ever seen, ever. He's a great story teller , so much expression and I couldn't put my phone down, wild stories. Excellent speaker. Love Vanilla ice most Excellent!!
Really liked this interview. I didn't know much about him, he's interesting to listen to, i like his energy. Seems very genuine & doesn't bad mouth anyone. Classy
MOST PEOPLE NEED TO GIVE VANILLA ICE HIS RECOGNITION AND FLOWERS WHILE HE'S HERE BECAUSE IF NOT THEN I WILL AND I'M GONNA KEEP DOING THAT UNTIL HE GETS THE PROPS THAT HE NEEDS BECAUSE HE'S BEEN IN THIS GAME FOR SO LONG AND HE'S LIVING PROOF OF STARTING FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP

Nah, he ripped off too many black artists to make his way to his one hit wonder.
I still stand by he fked the ninja turtle movie up when I was a kid
Alright interview though
Who are you vanwinkle?
Ice would be good dude to be around. He's refreshing. He don't want anything to do with negativity. He runs from it which is exactly what we should all do. He's only answering these questions bc the respect of Vlad and the interview, make no mistake the negative shit won't be brought up again. He stays positive and keeps on his journey while staying in his own lane
Yes 👍🏼 very true!! And he’s respectful!!❤😊
He’s a chronic liar and a delusional narcissist

Wow Vanilla super chill.. never knew this… thanks for this interview. 👍
This was kool ! One of the best interviews I’ve ever watched on UA-cam and I’ve watched a ton. Good job Vlad and great message from Ice at the end that hit hard . One love fam 💯🙌❤️
Rob has the most amazing and inspiring stories to tell with such enthusiasm. He shares allot of wisdom that can help people in their day-to-day lives. Rob is a very inspiring and motivational person. Just love listening to his childhood stories.
...and Rob is faithful and respect much of his behalf. His mother, too.Thank you for the real story.I have learned much, too.❤
I was the stage manager of a big name casino, and we had a big 80's show one night for VIP's. I was leery, but it was packed, 2,500 people. The bill was Young MC, Salt and Peppa, and Ice as the closer. Rob walked across the stage during soundcheck, and I mentioned to him that I loved his real estate shows and also flipped houses. He stopped and genuinely thanked me. He really loves his real estate. Rob was a 100% class act. *FYI: Salt and Peppa absolutely destroyed. I worked all the big acts and they were top 5. I swear. Rob was average.
Cool interview. I was rolling at 7:58 😂 Vlad trying to slide some vocals in there Ice Ice Baby 🤣
Rob is intelligent, articulate, respectful and one of the wisest men around. This is what makes him successful. What a great person.

A huge fan of your music but had never heard your your story until VLADTV interview.
The stepfather who called you out for getting 4th in motor cross competition set you on path of success. Awesome story. Your mom sounds amazing too. Have great respect for those musicians who weren’t handed their career. You’re an American success story.
Loved his speil on Love and Bob Marley at the end. Have gained much respect for Vanilla Ice after seeing this interview.
Did Vlad ask if their were gangsta verses before ice ice baby? Um, NWA, Schooly D, ICE T, Kool G Rap were all out before that
Vlad tried it!!
I know right, how can you get that timeline all wrong 😅
And Just Ice
I just watched this video and was looking for a comment like this. Most of these guys had 3-4 years on Ice. Surprised by that question. Vlad is slippin

Endless thank yous for all the full interviews! And lots of love from Finland!🤗
His grocery store story has me rolling ..thats where im at in the video
I've never heard vlad sound so happy interviewing a rapper before. He even tried to put the " first gangsta rap" tag on vanilla ice...I'm so glad ice downplayed it. If vlad ever gets eminem to come on his platform...as soon as em sits down, vlad might bust a nut off of it....corny azz culture vulture. Respect to vanilla ice for keeping it real, and not capping.
You must be black 😂🤣
You must be of color
But he is wearing a hat (cap)
Feminem is straight up trash. Legend has it, if Feminem stands a certain way, you can hear the pffffft sound in a slight breeze because he's spent too much time grabbing his ankles for them bbc's.
I respect Vanilla Ice. This was a cool interview.
What time does he talk about biggie
How does this only have 225k views....id figure it would be 10 times that at least... it's so cool knowing he did well all these years and is thriving !!! Hell yeah!
N.W.A. came out in 1986. Vanilla Ice came out with Ice Ice Baby in 1990. @vladtv you off on that one
What's up with the audio always cutting in & out? Mainly when Vlad stops talking the audio goes completely deaf! 🤷♂️
I never knew 8 ball was coke and I’m 50. I thought it was pool
Low life experience, books and school smarts only prepare and help prep real life. It’s amazing the low brow comments people be self snitching on here
It's a pool reference applied to drugs, specifically coke. 3.5 grams is an 8-Ball.
@@TronBonneVonne in not it’s not a pool reference , 3.5 is one eight of an ounce 1/8. So ‘eight’ shortened to eight is eight ball.
3.5 is 1/8 hence the ‘8’
On the other hand, they COULD have been carrying pool balls in their pockets. lol😀
All l know is he is legit a cool, good dude. I saw him in the late 90s at a concert he did at a university in Nebraska. We were in high school then and my drunk friend jumped up on stage during the show and Ice was cool as hell about it. Thought it was cool when he jumped back onto the crowd. They stayed around awhile too.

Vlad you’re buggin. I was 5 in 1990 listening to this song. He is not the first gangster rapper. Even I knew that back then. Gangster rap was a thing for 6 years and dozens of acts by that time. Give credit to Schoolly D for PSK. And Ice-T for taking that and running with it. Even Biggie paid homage to Schoolly D and that King of New York energy on Life After Death. If you don’t know, now you know!!! Stop tryna Christopher Columbus some black art by giving Ice that credit. Respect to Ice for not taking that bait.
Great stories, great interview!! Thank you to you both for entertaining me this morning!
My question is why didn 't Vanilla Ice made more hits, him to keep rapping and making more music more hits, he was very good and talent.
The artist is the last on in charge of making hits. You have to get on your knees to get a hit, and obviously 1 was enough for Rob. He went on to other things. He did still make some music though, if that is what you meant.
He's continued making songs- done few with ICP. But the runners of the media empire decided to focus on Eminem instead.
Another great interview with Vanilla Ice! Thx!
Ice definitely caught a lot of shat back then.
He's paid his dues and I'm glad he's doing well.
