Well you can upgrade the mic with these if you want, you can get the v-moda boompro for around 30€, i understand it kinda sucks to pay another 30€ just for a headset mic but this sound really good if mic quality bothers you that much
Please help to decide: Steelseries Arctis Pro (wired) Or Kingston HyperX Cloud Alpha S I'll be using them for gaming but also for listening music. Also theres a lot of speculation of (both models) mic quality it doesn't bother me, what i need is max connectivity - able to connect to my smartphone, laptop and gaming pc. So max performance should be not only on USB but also on standard 3.5 mm jack. Where could i experience decent bass, lows mids and highs?
@@jordanash Initialy was obsesed with Steelseries Arctis Pro - minimalastic design and "for audiophiles" perk - "that reproduce Hi-Res audio out to 40,000 Hz, nearly double what most standard headsets are capable of (22,000 Hz).". Diggin' deeper found out these have serious design - durability flaws which are real issue if you are that planet-friendly person who like to use fav product really long time - 4 - 7 year. Also these are not friendly for the big heads :) Second selection was Hyperx Cloud Alpha S. Initially thought it was a serious upgrade (from Cloud Alpha) in all aspects from sound and mic to connectivity and convenience (cause it was released after several years after Cloud Alpha). But i was wrong - they added 7.1 surround (but im not 16yo anymore and find it more like useless gimmick or marketing trick) but also made some serious functionality flaws (in 3.5 mm mode you cannot control volume directly on the wire like you can do it on much cheaper Cloud Alphas). So finally i ordered HyperX Cloud Alphas :) :)
Jordan Ash what about the beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80ohm? I know they are two different styles of headphones, but shouldn't gaming also be deeper and more immersive on studio headphones rather than just for gaming?
great headphone.. build to last.. and very comfy.. the harderst decision is to choose blue or black color.. I chose the blue color eventually.. for equalizer you can use free software called APO equalizer to tailor the sound to your liking..
If your alpha is more that 1.5 years then maybe its a yes but for me Original Cloud alpha has true 7.1 so I dont think you need to upgrade your headset
I have a question for you m8, so i recently bought this headset and when i plug the headset with the 7.1 soundcard on my laptop, the sound volume is alot lower than just plugging it with the 3.5 jack is there any solve for this ?
Yeah I have the same issue. I ended up downloading Dolby Atmos and using the equilizer to make things louder. I’m using a laptop and I also had to update my sound card and display setting. I’m some rare cases like me, if you are using a hybrid intel/nvidia graphics card on laptops, most headsets do not support this so you have to download an equilizer to make it louder.
@@Hiikaa69 Try to Update the firmware by Downloading their app called hyperx ngenuity or by going to their website and download manually from their, I updated mine recentley so the 7.1 surronud sound can be compatible with my ps4. Good luck.

So, I found a new contender for the HyperX Cloud Alpha S; ROG Delta. I found a website where they're both roughly at the same price with the Delta only going up 20 dollars higher. Which one do you guys recommend in terms on sound quality, surround sound, and build? Please do tell me your opinions.
@@Codullah Thing is, the Delta's mic sounds better in every way but I've heard at least 4 people say it keeps breaking at random moments ranging from 2.5 years to weeks or 2-4 months or so. I'm trying to see if it's worth risking it or not. And then there's the problem with the Alpha S and the lack of much of reviews about it since it is very new... This video is a good review don't think I don't like it, but yeah, it has yet to be used by a lot of people to give a proper opinion about it.
@@Joseph-sq4bo I think if you aren't too bothered about the bass and the heavy mids, the hyperx is a very good headset. It is definitely enough for most people.

how did you get around it picking up keyboard and mouse clicking even at low levels. Struggling to figure this out can barely hear myself but can hear clicking from mouse and keyboard. Never had this problem from other headsets
for some reason when I use this headset there's like a weird static sound effect when no audio is being outputted, is there a way to get rid of this? when I turn on surround sound, it doesn't make the static effect but when i turn it off it happens again
Getting the same hissing noise when on applications. If you press on chat button the noise lowers, if on game - raises. That's just how they're made i'll try refunding them if i'm able to do.
I have the Astro A10 and they sound good but it's hard to hear footsteps sometimes. Are these worth the upgrade? Is it a dramatic difference? I play on Xbox but I heard you can use these for it but the 7.1 doesn't work for it.
I've not used the A10's, but these are great for hearing footsteps. I'm not sure about compatibility with consoles, I just test these on the stated platform.
Hey man! Awesome review. I just had a question, between the cloud 2 and cloud alpha s, which is better in terms of sound (hearing footsteps) and comfort?
I don't use Discord I'm afraid. I don't really play multiplayer nowadays. I've not used all the HyperX stuff, but on paper I'd go for these, or save money with the Cloud 2, I really liked that pair.
the reason red and black is popular for streamers is that the black intensifies the metallic red and also keeps the audience's attention and increases stress.
I know it's an angry colour, but I've never known it to be stressful for people to watch. I have a really popular friend that streams with red and black, and his streams are chill AF.
Jordan I play mostly fortnite and am looking for a headset with really good directional audio ? Would these prove good directional audio with no mixamp?
Hello, great review. I'm thinking about buying these or the cloud flight ones or cloud mix since my sennheiser game zero broke after 6 months of casual use. Which ones would you recommend? I don't really care about wireless, only sound/mic quality. Thanks!
a lot of people on reddit are stating that the "regular" alpha's have a better sound then the s's. can you confirm or deny? have you tried both of them?
My logitech g430 just broke after 3 years of horrible service, incredibly cheap plastic, but they held, so now im looking, do i get hyperx cloud II for 82 Eur ($93) or is it worth getting alpha S for 120 Eur ($136), is it worth aditional 40 Euros or not?
@@jordanash how different is the sound ? The specifications are literally the same apart from the sound pressure level on their website , the drivers changed? What exactly changed please help me here
the hyperx usb sound card limits the quality of microphone to a very low frequency, which does not reflect the actual quality of a microphone. I believe is around 22 khz (very close to tape quality). I know that... cause I got one. surround on that usb is really good, but just FYI, your mic is not being fully appreciated if you use this. I would rather go with a splitter and the internal PC sound card.
There's not been a headset with a microphone that I've felt I would *choose* to use. That's why I mention a stand alone desk mic in EVERY headset video.

Well you can upgrade the mic with these if you want, you can get the v-moda boompro for around 30€, i understand it kinda sucks to pay another 30€ just for a headset mic but this sound really good if mic quality bothers you that much
Please help to decide:
Steelseries Arctis Pro (wired)
Or
Kingston HyperX Cloud Alpha S
I'll be using them for gaming but also for listening music.
I've not used the Steelseries. These just use USB for the 7.1, so sound is good either USB or 3.5mm
Also these are not friendly for the big heads :)
Second selection was Hyperx Cloud Alpha S.
How would you compare it to the Logitech G Pro X ?
Not used the G Pro's I'm afraid
Jordan Ash what about the beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80ohm? I know they are two different styles of headphones, but shouldn't gaming also be deeper and more immersive on studio headphones rather than just for gaming?
great headphone.. build to last.. and very comfy.. the harderst decision is to choose blue or black color.. I chose the blue color eventually.. for equalizer you can use free software called APO equalizer to tailor the sound to your liking..
Did you have a weird sound with them when you got them? I had to put on the other headphones earpieces
Worth upgrading from Original cloud alpha?
Yeah good question
If your alpha is more that 1.5 years then maybe its a yes but for me Original Cloud alpha has true 7.1 so I dont think you need to upgrade your headset
I have a question for you m8, so i recently bought this headset and when i plug the headset with the 7.1 soundcard on my laptop, the sound volume is alot lower than just plugging it with the 3.5 jack is there any solve for this ?
That's strange. Have you looked the the headset properties in the control panel?
Good luck.
volume booster works for google chrome or anythign chromium
If hyperx fixed their software for a lot of devices they would be a lot better
Hey where do you buy them? Thanks. Just found your channel and I think it’s really good!
There are links in the description. Cheers!
Amazon doesn’t work...
@@iamkxngc search it up yourself. not that hard
@@iamkxngc Amazon is out of stock. reason for link not working. it's taken down.
X Cloud Gaming was my favorite Gaming Headphones,Me and my Bro owned 1 and his stopped working because of the wire and I noticed it so I really took care of mines but it had the same problem and it stopped working🙁I would buy it if the Audio Jack Wire was removable.
It is on this one.
The alpha has a detachable audio jack wire. my other cloudx broke and so im saving up for the alpha
Seems like a good face-off. Unfortunately I'm not at the level to get ROG products, so can't cover this, but hopefully someone can.
The Alpha is probably better
@@Joseph-sq4bo The alphas mic is also really good so you don't really need to worry about it and it shouldn't be a game changer. Obviously I'm a bit a biased but that's what I think
3:14 mic test
how did you get around it picking up keyboard and mouse clicking even at low levels. Struggling to figure this out can barely hear myself but can hear clicking from mouse and keyboard. Never had this problem from other headsets
This is the best woahhhhhhhhh
for some reason when I use this headset there's like a weird static sound effect when no audio is being outputted, is there a way to get rid of this?
when I turn on surround sound, it doesn't make the static effect but when i turn it off it happens again
Getting the same hissing noise when on applications. If you press on chat button the noise lowers, if on game - raises. That's just how they're made i'll try refunding them if i'm able to do.
Great review, Arctis 3 o Alpha s? which one is more comfortable?
Thanks! I've not used the Arctis 3 I'm afraid.
@@jordanash Thanks for the Answer, and compared with another Steelseries headsets?
@@Andytumare steelseries is utter trash. Avoid at all times
Hi! Which is better Steelseries Arctis 5, Logitech Pro X, or this HyperX Cloud Alpha S gaming headset? Thanks!
Great review
Thank you!
Theres nothing better to Listen to Music Loud with Surround Sound😉. I buyed the Alpha S directly After your Review😇
Great to hear!
Good review. Thank you.
Thank you, I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching!
Looking to buy these for mostly PS4 . How does it peform and is there any common problems on PS4? ty
These aren't for PS4 dude, they're for PC. Look at something specifically for PS4 instead
@@jordanash Lots of people use these on Console I believe they have updates to accommodate the playstation.
I only review stuff on the intended platform, so that's your gamble if you try it fella
Hello! I just bought it today? Would it be the same performance as the alpha version if i will disable the 7.1? Pls respond
Hey do you recommend this over the alpha?
Yeah :)
Jordan Ash but the mic is really bad vs the normal alpha
Lmaoitz Jay the quality of the mic really depends on your sound card
@@themanofglue620 but am using my on bored sound
Hey man! Awesome review.
I just had a question, between the cloud 2 and cloud alpha s, which is better in terms of sound (hearing footsteps) and comfort?
Thanks man! I'd say this one is slightly better for sound, plus this has changeable earpads
@@jordanash thank you man! You are great and a big help. Just placed the order for the cloud s!
No problem mate, hope you enjoy it!
Do you still experience cross talk during discord with friends? Cloud2 vs this or cloud fly? Buying soon need advise please hehe
I don't use Discord I'm afraid. I don't really play multiplayer nowadays. I've not used all the HyperX stuff, but on paper I'd go for these, or save money with the Cloud 2, I really liked that pair.
@@jordanash thanks for the review and the reply anyways, how did you get yours I checked amazon and newegg and they aren't selling any right nw
What is this headset vs something like the original alpha? Or the cloud II's? which one would you reccomend?
I think normal alpha
is it possible to swap out the mic for a better one?
I have the Revolver 7.1s right now. But I'm not a huge fan. You think these are any better?
Yeah, I'd say so
Wonderful review, could you please place a link for the ear cups.
Thank you! You get both sets included.
Realy good review , if i am going for Hyperx which one should i buy Hyperx cloud Alpha or Alpha S or Cloud 2??
Alpha S if you have the money
This is better quality than some of the big tech Chanel’s super underated
Thank you so much!
Does this headset has software for tuning the eq or something like that? Btw nice review dude.
Not on this model, only the bass sliders. Thanks!
What's the best hyperx headset for Xbox one x?
How is it with discord? How do others here you? I am curious because I am looking at the cloud 2 versus the alpha s
These or the steelseries arctic 7?.... Please I'm finding a hard time picking between them
I've not used the 7's. but I've heard a lot of good things about them.
the reason red and black is popular for streamers is that the black intensifies the metallic red and also keeps the audience's attention and increases stress.
I believed that until the "increases stress"
@@jordanash 🤣🤣 lmao nah fr tho red is a stress color. It keeps people awake and watching
I know it's an angry colour, but I've never known it to be stressful for people to watch. I have a really popular friend that streams with red and black, and his streams are chill AF.
@@jordanash he just like red then 🤣🤣
As in, him and everyone in them.
This vídeo is soooo good
Thanks bro
Mamani You handsome lucky guy
just got this headset yesterday if you looking for a good headset for music gaming movies this is it for under 100 bucks can't beat it
Is it better than the original Alpha? I can’t decide which to get
Yes it is.
Jordan I play mostly fortnite and am looking for a headset with really good directional audio ? Would these prove good directional audio with no mixamp?
Go with some beyerdynamic dt990
I wanna ask, which is better between Cloud ll and Cloud Alpha S?
If you have the money, this. But the Alpha II is still great for the price.
Jordan Ash Great
Which headset do you recommend HYPERX CLOUD ALPHA S or LOGITECH G PRO (the new one)?
Straight out the box the alpha d but you can change the eq on logitech and make them sound so good
I currently use the alpha's with the cloud II soundcard, would it be the worth the upgrade
Nah, save your money
What would you recommend, hyper x cloud alpha s or Logitech G Pro X? Thank you!
I think the Logitech has better adjustability as it's got EQ options, so I'd probably say that.
Would the cloud revolver s mic work with the headset and increase the quality or no?
I'm not sure if it would fit, as the ends have different shapes on each model.
oh ok thanks for letting me know
No worries.
Hello, great review. I'm thinking about buying these or the cloud flight ones or cloud mix since my sennheiser game zero broke after 6 months of casual use. Which ones would you recommend? I don't really care about wireless, only sound/mic quality. Thanks!
Which part from your game zero that broke?? Btw i think sennheiser has two years warranty so that you can claim the RMA thing
How long is the cord?
a lot of people on reddit are stating that the "regular" alpha's have a better sound then the s's. can you confirm or deny? have you tried both of them?
I've only used the Cloud II and these, I'm afraid.
Should I get these or the hyper x cloud mix? Which is better for gaming specifically if I play PS4?
Well this is made for PC, so best get the Cloud Mix.
How does it compare with the original Hyperx cloud ll? it is worth the upgrade?
Slightly better sound I'd say, if you want the 7.1, it's worth it. I still think they need to add user adjustable EQ though.
Is the advanced audio control mixer optional?
My logitech g430 just broke after 3 years of horrible service, incredibly cheap plastic, but they held, so now im looking, do i get hyperx cloud II for 82 Eur ($93) or is it worth getting alpha S for 120 Eur ($136), is it worth aditional 40 Euros or not?
so basically this is the original hyperx alpha, just with the additional 7.1surround cable extension and little bass adjustments XD for 20£ more
This has different sound. Plus that cable alone is £29 separately, so it's really not that bad...
@@jordanash how different is the sound ? The specifications are literally the same apart from the sound pressure level on their website , the drivers changed? What exactly changed please help me here
To add , it can be cheaper on Amazon for a new pair , I brought normal alphas for 67£ so be on a lookout 👀
Robert G how are they holding up?
okay its been 3 years since I had to look into gaming stuffs. Is this better than the regular hyperx cloud alpha?
If you want the bass sliders, otherwise you could just add the 7.1 cable, as the price is a bit drastic otherwise.
@@jordanash okay, thank you !:D
Question is it worth it buying this if you have the original alpha and the amp wire?
I can't really tell you without trying it myself. On paper maybe a slight upgrade.
@@jordanash do you have the original?
No mate, I'd try it if I did.
@@jordanash thx for the help
the hyperx usb sound card limits the quality of microphone to a very low frequency, which does not reflect the actual quality of a microphone.
