I miss this when teaching we used dagger plastic large kayak we chopped welded and that was in the developing days,

I would mention in connection with the double pump is that the boats momentum creates its own wave, which aids in a double pump. that is why it is easier to do while moving. Then when you dig your bow in the wave aids you, but the water beneath you is not moving at the speed you are. So you go vertical.
