Just the sort of fare that I tasted on this unplanned visit to Mangalore Pearl. The seafood preparations served here are the sort that are always fresh, unpretentious and most honestly priced.

You are right Kripal, Fenugreek seeds are must in fish curry along with byadgi chilies and tamarind.. there is something called Jarega in Tulu which is more tangy than tamarind and its a must in Manglorean household It's from the kokum family

This has been a favourite place of mine when I was in Bangalore! These guys used to be in Wheelers road n the food was amazing! They had seafood soup as well!
Normally fly into Kudla for the fish/ meat fix. Shetty’s Lunch Home, Ocean Pearl and Mary Bai’s.
But if in Bangalore, Mangalore Pearl is a go to for the pescatarians who miss the fare from Kudla. Brilliant, simple and authentic.

Dear Kripal - It was wonderful sea-food fare ! Number of items ordered was less but you did complete justice to it ! The way you describe the items with so much passion immediately makes me salivate ! One thing that I was surprised to note was the Solkadi . For some reason I always thought it was a Maharashtrian/ Malvani cuisine ! You would have tried the Sol Kadi for sure in Mumbai ! Anyways thanks once again ! Stay safe , take care & Now I am going to enjoy my lunch .. Happy Eating ..

Climate Is pleasant here in chennai
We order Neer dosa, Boild rice fish curry silverfish/ bolinjir fry and anjal fry/ pomfret masala fills us and finally here in Bangalore some restaurants serve one rasum/saru in the end you sip that and you feel content.

You may want to try Marvanthe in Indiranagar. Their Mangalorean fare is also fantastic.
This place looks good however you should try The Konkan as well on St.Marks road.
