The more well accepted theory in udupi and our region is that Masala Dosa was invented in Mitra Samaj restaurant which is near udupi Shri Krishna Mutt. But right now, no doubt Bangalore is doing justice to the dosa more than any other place we know .
Bangalore has perfected the art of masala dosa. One will not like Mitra Samaj masala dosa when they try the above hotels in Bangalore. There are still many hotels in Bangalore where masala dosa is very good.

When I was in service in Bangalore during 2010, after office hours I use to eat Masala dosa in Janata Hotel beside Bata show room in Majestic. What a delicious food it was. Still I remember it's super taste.

I like A2b Masala Dosa @ malleswaram is good. Size is big. Chutney, Sambar is yummy. For a man from Chennai, Karnataka sambar is not palatable. They add jaggery. Bi2 hotel opposite CTR is good.
Sir, I haven't had pleasant experience at many of the A2B branches recently. If it is TN style dose, Sendhoor Cafe is much better. Agree that By2 is good. On Sambar, each state has its uniqueness and they are good in their own way. It takes few repeated tasting sessions to acquire the taste. The best way to enjoy Karnataka Sambar is to try the Idly Sambar dip.
CTR and Vidyarthi Bhavan have historical significance hyped up beyond necessity by the social media crowd. Excess of ghee and butter have been one attributes of a masala dosa. For the ubiquitous masala dosa lover, it is all proportion, temperature of the tava, a nice roast on the external crunchy yet soft to hold the palya at the centre. A touch of butter to go with the hot exterior, not in excess. Those who want to eat the crispier side, they tear the edges first, those who want to go for the palya dig into the centre. You don’t need a Shakespeare Kripal to tell us how to eat a dosa. A good tour . That said there are plenty of dosa hotels small and big that have mastered this wonderful dish. But only a few that prosper in its hype

Masalae Dosaes originally are from Cubbon Pete, old Bangalore's Petes. The Udupi - Coondapur chef - entrepreneurs took inspirations from Cubbon Pete restauranters in the early 1920s when half a dozen of them came to Bangalore to start their enterprises. In entire South Kanara - Udupi one doesn't get good idli, Vadae, Dosaes like the one get in Bangalore

These restaurants are in North bangalore. When you live in the south, it's a waste of time going all the way there. Please remember that none of these have parking anywhere near.
Most of these restaurants are in South Bangalore and some of them in West Bangalore. Wondering how they are in North Bangalore. North Bangalore includes areas like Banaswadi, HBR Layout, Hebbal, Hennur, Jakkur, Jalahalli East & West, Peenya, Sanjeevani Nagar, Yeshwantpur etc., None of the restaurants in this video is located in the above places.
Best Khali Dose is Dwaraka Hotel, N.R.Colony, Bangalore since 1972. Nobody can beat them with their Khali Dosa + pure coconut chutney poured on the Dosa like sambar.

Masalae Dosaes originally are from Cubbon Pete, old Bangalore's Petes. The Udupi - Coondapur chef - entrepreneurs took inspirations from Cubbon Pete restauranters in the early 1920s when half a dozen of them came to Bangalore to start their enterprises. In entire South Kanara - Udupi one doesn't get good idli, Vadae, Dosaes like the one get in Bangalore

You mean Malabar Hotel in Balepet? Yes, it used to be one of the best dose places but unfortunately they are permanently closed.
CTR is my fav Dosa place in bangalroe; Vidyarti bhavan and MTR are over hyped in my opinion.
These restaurants are in North bangalore. When you live in the south, it's a waste of time going all the way there. Please remember that none of these have parking anywhere near.
Most of these restaurants are in South Bangalore and some of them in West Bangalore. Wondering how they are in North Bangalore.
North Bangalore includes areas like Banaswadi, HBR Layout, Hebbal, Hennur, Jakkur, Jalahalli East & West, Peenya, Sanjeevani Nagar, Yeshwantpur etc., None of the restaurants in this video is located in the above places.
You did not go to Udupi Krishna Bhavan, their Saagu Masala dosa is best. Also try Shivasagar at commercial street.

Best Khali Dose is Dwaraka Hotel, N.R.Colony, Bangalore since 1972. Nobody can beat them with their Khali Dosa + pure coconut chutney poured on the Dosa like sambar.
Vidyarthi bhavai and MTR taste less nowadays Janata hotel dosa and Satvik kitchen dosa's are best now
