I've followed 2 other tutorials and they were both missing important steps. You got them all and I finally succeeded! Thank you!!!
Thank you! will this work for the iMac 2013 version?
Idk what I'm doing wrong but when I'm through with terminal and click inside of my imovie folder, I don't see anything but the package icon. HELP
Hello and thank you very much Shaana. This was very helpful I did all the process and was OK and success. Just one question. At the end of the installation I cannot see the Imovie Icon inside the Application Folder of my Imac. How can I put the Imovie Icon access in the Application Folder to open Imovie like the other applications on the Mac computer ??
mine looks like it will work up until i click the iMovie logo and it said it wouldn't download from unknown developers, Then I went to settings and security and it showed where i tried to open it and it has an unknown developer, i clicked open anyways and it worked. you are a lifesaver

I have followed the steps and have iMovie 9.0.9 how can I now update that to the latest version? Do you have a video? Thanks
It did not work for me. I follow this step by step and I got a circle \ sign for the application.
When I open the iMovie app, nothing happens. It shows up in the dock, with a dot underneath, but the actual app window doesn't open. Any suggestions? Thx for the tutorial though. Very much appreciated.

When I drag the new "iMovie" folder into the terminal, get rid of the space and type in "iMovie" and press "return", I get the message "pkgutil: invalid option -- e" and it's the end of that.

The 5:29 mark is very unclear. "Wait for some time" How long is the wait? "You will be getting an intimation(?) about it's completion" I never received any "intimation." Is it 15 minutes? 1/2 hr? How do I know? Thanks
