I’ve been watching you since your infamous Mohawk with the design. You have all the best tips and advise. I have been locked since October of 2020. I thought I had made the worst mistake of all! Your micro locs are so pretty. I did my boyfriend's locks and his locks are the microlocs (brotha locs) and I used the 4 point rotation to start his locks which took me 4 days cuz we took alot of breaks but then I started alternating with the 4 point and 2 point and his hair was so full
I'm going to start my 4 yo son some soon as well. I'm debating on reties with the 3 point rotation for his soft hair tho

I've been doing the 4 point for the 5 months I've been locked and I'm switching to the 2 point for the same reason. They are compact and i want them fuller

Let's see how long you hair is now. My hair has grown about 20 inches or so in six years.

I'm really wanting to get sister locs. I've been natural for 12 years. I've done 4 big chops since then but I wanted to know if you have to get your hair cut in order to start sister locs or any locs?
Depends on what's goin on with your natural hair now. If you're a loose natural, you can start locs...that's ideal.

im confused you said leaving your hair wet can cause Mildew but you use water to moisturize it.
From what my loctican told me Rotations should be based on hair type. Thicker, corse hair can get away with less rotations .
What about fine hair

How long does it take to retie/interlock each time?
Depends on how much new growth and free time you have if you're doing it yourself because sometimes you may do little little each day and that could be a week of on and on work, maybe 3 days after work, could be a few hours like 4 or even over a weekend.
Typically you'd get faster with each retie because at first you may have to be reparting some areas, maybe some have slipped or unraveled and you have to redo those etc but as they mature the hairs will know which loc they belong to and it becomes less maintenance in a sense.
