    It's obvious you're very into this platform and have a wealth of knowledge on how it works and interacts based on usage and customization. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and opinions with us. in my opinion this is the Natural Evolution of car forums and is in fact so much more practical compared to photography on platforms. I can't tell you how many times car forums get delisted from the internet

    I really appreciate these informational videos you have, probably the most in-depth and helpful intake swap vids on youtube

    Hey, would y’all be interested in racing parts for the 3.8/4.2? I’d like to make carbon/kevlar valve covers but they would be dry sump only

    Have you ever dyno'd a relatively stock 3.8/3.9 with a Windstar or F150 manifold swap? I'd be curious to see what the numbers would look like.

    What goes connected on the middle port that you have covered? And what about the 2 hole under the throttle body? Thanks

      I heat up the base area with a torch and rotate them out. Then thread the hole 3/8NPT and screw a temp sensor into it as a accessory to also plug the hole.

    Do any aftermarket companies offer a replacement hood for the mustang that allows the larger intake to fit?😊

      Look at the cowel hood.

      I think a 3" cowl is the only one that will work but even with that youll have to relocate the IAC iirc. I'm planning on doing this mod in the future and I'm going to see if I can make it work with the factory hood just by cutting the hood in a way that the hood scoop can still hide it.

    • @MustangV6TechSupport
      @MustangV6TechSupport  Рік тому +1

      99 cobra hoods that come oem on some 03/04 v6s will house all intake swaps exept 97-03 F150.
      3" cowl hood fits F150 intake
      2.5 cowl hood fits everything else if 99 cobra budget hood not available

    I've been researching this for a long time and I'm wondering if I could get some help. I want to put ITBs/individual throttle bodies on my 2001 Mustang 3.8L v6 however, because of the split port induction, I'm having trouble figuring out how to run them. I cant find any lower intake manifolds online that are single port.

    • @MustangV6TechSupport
      @MustangV6TechSupport  7 місяців тому

      @memedump3982 freestar or 01+ windstar lower intake is 1 hole but split port. That would be what your looking for. I would build a slim adapter box intake design around one of them with a welder and sheet metal. Basically make an adapter plate for the ITB you wish to attach to one of those lower intakes should work.

    Can't the valve cover fit on the drivers side?

    • @MustangV6TechSupport
      @MustangV6TechSupport  2 роки тому +1

      Mustang/f150 98 windstar yes easily can mount to the intake by bracket/adapter. 99 windstar/Freestar use alternative valve cover mounting. This instructional is general strategy for intake swapping. Individual hybrid combinations exist for each intake fitment, but contain individual items that make general explanation difficult. All intake swaps can be built from this base design, then modified with little to no explanation and leave the user to further modify if wanted.

      @@MustangV6TechSupport just asking. I'd rather not extend the harness if not necessary

    • @MustangV6TechSupport
      @MustangV6TechSupport  2 роки тому

      @@terrycarter8929 lowest effort for mustang/windstar is to use the mustang coil bracket, cut off the L/R sides, line up to the windstar intake. Drill holes to match windstar side coil mount making the mustang bracket into an adapter in 20 mins.
      F150 rests on top of intake/99+windstar freestar all need remote/ valve cover coil pack bracket but then can also be used driver side to not extend wires.
      DIY intake wiring guide is also on channel to make All A Textbook swap.
      Thanks!

      Ebay " vacuum manifold" 25$
      Port bottom center under the throttle is for the 3/8 Evap line found in the passenger firewall area. It is most easily identified as the tube that deteriorates black stuff on your hands when you touch it

      @@MustangV6TechSupport theres one with a elbow and one comes straight downword. Which goes where?

    • @MustangV6TechSupport
      @MustangV6TechSupport  2 роки тому +1

      Evap goes into either. Second can be capped off if using stock iac placement. I use that for IAC into manifold on a remote IAC.
      If using a "vaccum manifold" this is this port you will preferably want that here or on the rear left manifold port.

      @@mikebond195 for the intake I used a f150 cold air you have to cut about 6 to 8 inches off of it tho and when you run your pcv run drivers side to the big port under the throttle body and the passenger side to the cold air after the maf if you just stick it to one of the vaccum nipples it won't idle
