Jason thank you for the positive energy and hilarious dad jokes you put into these videos! Seriously! It's so appreciated. I work in the toy industry and after an exhausting day of trying to solve corporate challenges, I can somehow watch your videos after work (MORE TOYS) and immediately feel uplifted. It makes me remember the joy of collecting and why I got into this business in the first place. Keep up the good work, sir! (p.s. your channel inspired me to start a DC Multiverse collection so my wallet is crying but my inner child is grateful)
Michael Turner was such a great artist who we lost way too soon. I loved his work on Batman/Superman. He gave Batman and Gotham a very distinct gothic look that I always appreciated, and he had a great way of conveying a lot of emotion in characters' body language. If you look at one of his drawings and strip away all of a character's identifying visual traits you could often still tell who it is by the pose alone. Thanks for shouting out his work. He might be gone, but the work he gave to comics lives on.
Oh for sure! His work was very formative for me when I was a teenager. I particularly loved his ability to balance lots of fine details with things like armor and cityscapes with knowing what to keep relatively on detailed, like bodies and such.
Honestly the paint does such a great job hiding the reuse that this is pretty much a complete package. For $20 you get a great looking Reddy, alternate hands and an effect piece that clearly dispays his power. My only nitpick is that I wish the tornado was cast in a brighter red to matched the figure.
It’s definitely the Alan Scott buck with new head and probably diaper piece. Also, will that Black Hush Batman be in future reviews or shorts, perhaps? Or like a showcase video about your definite Batfam figures?
Heck ya man thanks for this I'll have mine on Friday that's when my delivery from target is coming with animal man as well but after watching this I'm even more excited I think he looks great anyway have a good day I'll be waiting for your next upload see ya then brotha:)
Nice looking forward to it..Hey did you hear about the new baf wave on mcfarlane toystore of specter, super man earth 2 with a wire cloth cape ,pyco man , kid flash, and he's raised the price to 40 dollars a figure I seen on my Facebook group everyone talking about it what your thoughts??
I thought gold label were just a subline of McFarlane, more exclusive and have more accessories than the standard figures. Could of done more especially with Red Tornado, at least 3 head sculpts, the air tornado effects for hands and body.
Every time you show that Flashpoint Flash you hurt me Jason 😭 Btw little update on my bat family, so far i have added to my many batmen a red hood and a red robin ( they are Christmas gift from my gf and her sister) they are a good company for bruce, and now that i’m thinking about it there is also Thomas from flashpoint. As always keep rocking Jason 💪🏻
It is not Deadman’s head. Having both in-hand, they’re different. Different cheek bones, expressions, skull shape, skin textures. His lower half also isn’t MM. J’on has a texture to his legs, the musculature is more defined, different knee joints and different boots.
@timvanboening9432 Sure looked like the same boots at least by the comparison. But for what little reuse there was, definitely payed off nicely to add some nice tweaks rather than just a simple repaint.
@@orinanime I do not own Alan Scott GL, but looking at his picture, I see reuse of his torso, diaper, legs until the boots, arms until his forearms on Reddy. It works well.
Another whirlwind of a video. I expect mine to be delivered tomorrow. As for those capes that are often too heavy, I used double sided tape to attach the feet to the stand. That way a figure doesn't fall over as easily for what always seems to be an inexplicable reason in the dead of night.
With limited rotation at the hip, no thigh cut, and no boot cut, no McFarlane fig should ever get full points for articulation. The lower bodies are just too limited in that regard and McFarlane refuses to do anything about it. Other than that, this is a really good lookjng fig. Like u said, would love to see a red/yellow version.
I definitely see where you're coming from regarding the twist and the hips. If they twisted really well like a Mafex the lack of thigh cut wouldn't be such an issue for me. And some of them do twist really well. As far as boot cut, because ankle balls swivel I feel like that compensates for it. Between that and the extra range that the diaphragm, rotator cuffs, antarticulation offer I feel like it balances out. My biggest issue with McFarlane is the limited forward hunch on most of them.
@@5POAFigureReviews I know it varies by figure, yes. Can't tell you how many McFarlane figures I have taken out and tried to pose in even reasonable "action" poses in recent years only to wish I had left them in package, because anything much outside the vanilla standing pose ends up with them falling over, often even with the little black stand.
*Thanks for another wonderful video. I am currently waiting for this figure to come in the mail. Where I lived had a blizzard delayed everything. Hope you have a good day.*
Nice figure and great review. I hope I can find this guy. As far as who I wanna see from the JLA next, I am jonesing for a Black Canary figure. But I wouldn’t be mad if we got a Hawkgirl first.
One of the major turning points in my channel was early on I went to review Stealth Iron Man and it shattered as I was pulling him out of the packaging. I was left with the dilemma of whether or not to give up or keep going, but I decided to show must go on and had lots of fun with it. It was the first time I did any kind of real jokes or gags, all those things that became standard for the channel, and so he became the channel's mascot as a symbol of making the most out of bad situations
Pre-order on him goes live January 19th. Not sure when he'll be shipping though, but you can best be sure that I will be getting him. And you can also best be sure I have a special video or two in mind to go along with him in preparation.
having it in hand the clothes wrinkles don’t bother me as much. but i still wish he had a different trunks. but my big problem is the head. not enough android like. so im waiting on a custom head from some printers and painters. but not bad at all
@@5POAFigureReviews when i think of Red Tornado i think of Young Justice. easily the best representation on a show or movie to this point for me so i like the more android style. but i get it for that 2006 run!
Here's an idea for a superman kitbash take the upper torso piece from atomic skull superman, abdomen from the hush superman, and the arms legs and trunks from the new return of Superman fig
It would be interesting to see Red Tornado with the head of Red Hood from Bat-Family 5-pack, the head certainly doesn’t look too much like what we were shown in the comic 5:22 but since I don’t know any alternatives, maybe it would be a good fit
Isn't he the same buck and cape as Alan Scott/Dread Lantern?
Essentially, just has different arms and legs

I always disliked Turner's anatomy. Too sinewy and elongated. With overly pouty lips.
And all of his women look like anorexic supermodels.

I'm happy with it, but yeah that slight change would be an improvement
Picking him up today. Thanks
Put a bit of gloss varnish or light layer of super glue over that waist ball joint, should help make it tighter
My favorite non-Vision made by DC and he doesn't even cost 39.99.
I really like the figure. I am happy I got him and will display him proud.
Yeah, he's not 100% comic accurate, but I'm very happy with him
Hes neat. But im canabalizing him into shazam

That full helicopter @ 4:08. 👀

Definitely the Alan Scott mold with new forearms and boots. Great review.
From what I gather from the other comments, I'm guessing the forearms and boots are from the Dread Knight version of Alan
Hope the mctoddlane would make a power girl fig soon, and good review as always jason really dig tornado's articulation 😎
We can only hope!
Pirate boots and a new body sculp gives me hope he's making a classic deathstroke sometime soon
That would be awesome!
