I purchased a 2023 CE 04 from Riverside BMW in California for $8900 for a demo version with 240 mile and Every available option and I Love it. Comfortable, fast, conversation piece and the Fast Charger is extremely useful.
I have one and drove over 18000 km with it. It works as advertised. I like it a lot! Only thing: a little more battery capacity would be nice. From its predecessor we know it would be possible.
These are the types of electronic vehicles i can stand behind. I don't have the faith in cars or trucks at this time, but im willing to support bikes and quads as electric vehicles.
The rear brake/turn indicators are made out of rice paper with tons of owners on the forums complaining about how easy they break. I’m 5’7 and I wanted to sit where the hump was also when I test rode it. They make multiple seats with different seating positions. The realistic range will be 40-60 miles depending how fast you ride, weather, if you have the heated grips and seat on, etc.
I have one. It does about 60-65mls outercity. Innercity it's up to 110mls. Using heated grips doesn't lower the range, an the heated seat only about 1-2mls, but in reality it's less, because You use it only shortly, because it's very hot.
Bought one. Will use for commute to work (~30 miles). Keep in mind, this is going to cost almost nothing to run. Charge at night, and really only the tires will wear. And very civilized - can chat with folk at the side of the road, easily.
My vehicle has been in the repair shop for 48 days and still not repaired. In contact with the manufacturer to buy it back, or replace it with another vehicle model.
Not worth the money. After three months of ownership, mine is in the repair shop. I will be trading it in before the three year warranty runs out. I would not recommend the CE-04.
I owned one for about 4 months and in that time I drove about 2000km on my CE04 and about 2500km on loaner bikes because of problems. It even went back to BMW in Germany and stayed there for about 1 month. It came back with a new batterypack an after driving It for about 100km the same problems reappeared. I then traded the CE04 for a BMW R Nine T Urban GS…
@@johnnyvanderels8445 in the states, if the same problem exist three times, or if the vehicle is in the shop 30 days, it falls under the vehicle lemon law. It's been in the shop now for 14 days. To be honest, I hope they can't repair it. I will be going back to a Yamaha bike

I had a BMW K bike, my best friend had three BMW convertibles and a BMW motorcycle. my daughter was dating a BMW automobile dealer mechanic.. let me put it this way BMW earned a reputation for building, probably the best motorcycle shop until the early 80s for reliability, solid engineering, ease of maintenance, resale value . something happened to BMW in the 1980s when they tried to compete with the Japanese motorcycles. I will only say that, they sure are not what they used to be. as for their cars, my friend that had three BMW convertible cars that were leased and returned, and then he would buy them, he loved them, and they were nice looking cars, he was the type of guy that would get out with a can of spray detailer, and spot the bugs and bird poop off of his car constantly.. he would take those cars only to a BMW dealer to do even the most simple jobs like, changing the oil or changing the air filter. He would take those cars into the dealer for their prescribed service at prescribed mileages in the owners manual, and they would shake him by the ankles every time. It was never less than $1200. his last BMW a few years ago, he needed a battery. Battery prices have gone up, but he needed the “very special “battery for a BMW that fits under the back passenger seat. So it wasn’t $150, it was $375… my daughters boyfriend that was a BMW service department mechanic told me that he loves BMWs, because he makes buckets of money working on them because you must take your car to the BMW dealer for a lot of simple jobs because you need to have a very special one of a kind BMW tools to do the job. It’s job security for the dealership service department. my friend has had three BMW convertibles in 10 years also gets talked into buying those extended car warranty’s. They advertise on television all the time. He was paying $155 a month for over 10 years for that insurance for repairs on all three of his BMWs one after the other.. but when he had to turn in a claim to the insurance company, here’s how it went his convertible top would not go up and down, not covered his driver seat frame broke, not covered his transmission was an automatic, but it had a shifter that you could put into manual mode and pretend you were driving a stick shift. By following an H pattern, they were breaking in all the BMWs, because not even salvage yards had any to sell. They were on backorder, not covered. is control module to operate the power windows and door locks in the drivers door failed- notcovered.. over the years I told my friend he is wasting his money with that extended car warranty because they don’t cover anything when you really need it. So we sat down and figured out how much money he spent on those three BMW cars for maintenance and repairs, not counting what he paid for the cars. $155 a month for 10 years is 120× $155.. that’s more than $18,600. Then there was the cost out of his own pocket to do those four major repairs that were not covered. They added up to over $11,000 including some other smaller items that were not covered that was almost $30,000 spent on repairs and insurance that was supposed to cover the repairs I finally convinced my friend to buy a brand new car and never never never buy an extended warranty on anything ever again .. he took my advice, invited, Brand New, Toyota. He’s had it for about five years now, and he has had zero problems with it. The moral of this true story is, when you buy a BMW, you have to marry the dealer .. before I would buy a BMW scooter, I would read a lot of feedback from the Internet, I would watch a lot of videos about them on UA-cam, comparing them to other brands, then I would buy a Suzuki Burgman, or a Honda scooter.. BMW is living off of a name they made for themselves back in the 50s 60s and 70s. I have had 108 motorcycles so far, one BMW… that BMW was the most flawed motorcycle I have ever owned. It didn’t break down or get me stranded anywhere, but it had a weird front end that no other company has even tried to copy. that front and made that motorcycle, feel extremely top-heavy, unstable, and actually terrifying at times because that motorcycle weighed 900 pounds. It was the top-of-the-line BMW K 1200 LT. I was on a gravel road one day going downhill. I went to use the brakes, the ABS system detected wheel slippage, and I had zero brakes, front and rear no brakes. I had to run into a fence around a salvage yard at the bottom of the hill to stop. I sold that bike two weeks later. When I would use the side stand to get gas or to go into a restaurant, when I would come out and start the bike, it poured white smoke out the exhaust. The dealer said that’s normal. Don’t worry about it. The final drives were blowing up around the world. The dealer said that only happens on overloaded bikes, or bikes that pulled heavy trailers. They turned out to not be true. they were just not as good as the Japanese final drives.. actor EWAN McGregor, and his buddy Charlie Boorman did the television series, long way around on BMW GS motorcycles around 2012 or so. They started in Europe after they went to BMW to learn how to work on the bikes and become familiar with the bikes… those two guys were very mechanically experienced at working on all types of motorcycles. So they left England went across Europe. When they got to Mongolia, they had a brake issue with one of the bikes. While talking on a satellite phone to the mechanic and engineering department. They could not get the brakes to work at all, nothing because of that very individual different ABS system that only BMW has. they ended up getting an aux card or some thing and transporting that broken motorcycle to a train station and shipping it back to England on a train. And they bought a local motorcycle somewhere in Mongolia, a Jawa I think it was a 350 cc and they gave that to the cameraman, and they took the cameraman’s BMW to finish the trip. that was a perfect lesson when that happened in that show. They could not fix it, it was programmed and design so that it had to go back to the dealer so he could plug it into his analyzer computer to do a reset.. talk to BMW owners that are honest and they will tell you what they’re really like.. Watch UA-cam videos of a video maker, his website on UA-cam name is c90adventures- this guy traveled alone across Australia, took a ship to Indonesia, rode across Asia, into Europe, and back to England, where he was from on a Honda 90 motorcycle that was a retired postal worker bike that they used in Australia to deliver mail. in one of his or many of his videos on, UA-cam, when he would have mechanical issues, he would usually have them fixed within a day, and many times he would say “try that on your BMW, GS” highlighting the fact that you can get parts for those Hondas, anywhere in the world quickly. But not so quickly on a BMW… i’m not telling you to not buy a bmw.. I am suggesting that you do some homework before making your final decision. And if the vehicle you were considering it is a electric powered vehicle, my opinion on that is, you would be better off to go to the nearest casino and bet on the crap game for the shooter to make his point if it is 6 or 8.. It’s a safer bet
Pedal bikes typically won't go that speed for 1. 2, the range extender is your own stamina. lol. Factor the comfort or lack there of a pedal bike in, and no thanks.

I would not say it is worth it to me at that price. MAYBE 1/2 that price. But back in the day, equivalent style mopeds were all most people needed for some local putting around. This machine is neat. It has some interesting tech. And if you delivered pizza for a living in say, NYC, it would be fun until it got nicked. lol.
80 miles is bad. I can't believe it doesn't go at least 105-110 miles per charge. Ridiculous. BMW has a loooooooong way to go before any of its EV scooters are practical. I don't understand why Tesla doesn't make EV scooters. They'd easily grab 15-20% of the market.
My commute is 39 miles one way… this just simply wouldn’t work. We have no charging stations at work. So IF I got the full 80 miles of range id get home with 2 miles to spare. I’m pretty sure I won’t get the full 80 miles of range.
You can charge it on a 3 pin too, i think it takes about 3 hours but commuting 40 miles is an almost ideal use for this bike. Save a lot of money on petrol, obviously its too much money to start with, Ive been looking at them second hand.
When I first saw one in a dealer, I thought cool. Then the sales guys said $13000 and I said dumb. I have owned several scooters and they are a hard sell in the US even at $5k or $6k for a Bergman or Tmax. I chalk it up to just culture. The CE04 is only going to sell to a 70 year old in The Villages (Florida).
No one gives a pigs @ss about electric motorcycles. The gas tank gets smaller when you: use it, its cold, its hot, you go fast, you fill it to fast, run it to low, and not using it. Just a foolish idea.
Way too expensive for what's it's capable of. And that is something you can only use as a local commuter/run-about. Basically this scooter has the same problem as an electric car. And BEV's are horrible for the environment. Ever see a lithium mine or have to dispose of a lithium battery pack?
Both my EVs can go some distance. My Bentley Continental S(converted by Lunaz)has a range of 300 & will/has beaten Schmeslas😂. & my new Lucid Sapphire has a range of 427 miles & will assuredly beat any Schmesla plaid ❤🖕😂. I ❤❤❤EV, but vehemently hate tesla. The cars themselves are Fugly AF & passionately HATE Musk. When my Continental S was petrol? It only received 9mpg on a 24 gallon tank! Before it was converted, bought in London. I drove it 4 tanks full 216 miles ish & in the 🇬🇧they don't go to illegal wars to steal oil like muriKKKa does. To refuel ? It ran $210 each time! Btw most countries do not bomb tf out of other sovereign nations for their gas hogging consumption "needs"/WANTS

That's what they get for buying BMW. I stopped considering it a high quality brand a LONG time ago...

Far too expensive. Not very practical. Peculiar appearance. Doesn’t go far enough. Difficult to find a company that will insure it.
