Hello from Upstate NY! Retired nurse and COVID isolation era self taught watercolor painter….still learning and still loving it….every single day! Thanks for sharing your expertise.
For the longest time I didn't understand paint density until I listened to you detail the whole truth of this lovely craft thank you your information is much needed to a whole lot of beginners and the ones that was stuck like I was 😊
Thanks so much for this lesson, I learned so much! I hope the membership you're talking about doesn't take away from these free tutorials. As much as I would love to join a membership, I can't even afford groceries (not exaggerating) and I thrive on finding free tutorials to help me grow in my art skills!
I'm in the same boat! Hubby got laid off & I fell & broke my hip,no insurance ( applied for Medicare! So at age 70 & 2 strokes, I can't pay for classes either!
I love your teaching style. It would be helpful to see the real flower we are trying to paint. Most of my flowers end up looking like nothing that grows in nature!
Alex! Why have I only just found you on UA-cam? So glad I have. I am a hobbyist watercolour artist, 2 years but still unhappy with 90% of what I produce, I have watched so many tutorials and I felt I wasn't improving much despite painting daily. Anyway, I have just followed your poppy drawing tutorial and found it the best. I painted it afterwards and did a lovely painting and I am so pleased with it. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your skills.
It's amazing that you switched from Law... to Art!!! ❤ That seems like two polar opposites!!! Right brain - left brain! Good for you!!! I recently found you... you're such a talented young lady! Your paintings are awesome! I'm 71, a newbie, and have taken over a year break from watercolor... still watch my favorites, but not ready to paint! Thank you 😊 for sharing! With love from a California Gramma ❤️
Thank you Alex I love the brakedown it helps a lot your a great teacher ,im a beginner, I used to be a professional dancer jazz and classical but my knees are shot ,when I was younger I used to paint ,after my brother passed I started to paint it would ease the pain ,so here I am ,my bonnet came out so so 😊but will practice more I love the idea of that class ,I live in aruba nice to meet you shalom❤😊looking forward to more videos
I am wondering how much it costs to join the garden studio membership. It doesn’t give that information anywhere that I can find. That will determine whether or not I will get on the waitlist. Thank you so much! And for this fun little lesson.
Of course!! Enrollment is closed right now, but it currently costs $45 per month or $450 per year (two months free). And that's for the weekly class (live, downloadable, article, etc), and the preexisting 200+ hours of classes. :D We'd love to have you join us, and don't worry, getting on the waitlist isn't committing to the membership, it's just ensuring you're the first to know when it opens! ~Rachel
Hi Nancy! Beginners excel in The Garden Studio, and they are Alex's favorite type of student. :D You can find a link to our free Facebook group in the video description if you'd like to get a closer look at the membership! ~Rachel
This must have been filmed awhile ago and just uploaded two months ago? You mention going to a ballgame with your boyfriend and asking what about having a monthly membership group!
Hi Janet, yes! These are from our lesson Archives, and we're reposting them to UA-cam from Facebook... Alex is married to Jared now and the membership is in full swing! ~Rachel The Garden Studio Community Manager

Are there anymore examples? TIA. Deb
Are these on our Garden Studio as well?
They aren't! These are special, separate tutorials. :D

Hello. I'm Cristina from Spain. I subscribed sometime ago but UA-cam doesn't send me notifications. It says they're not allowed.
Hi Cristina! Nice to meet you. :D
I would check your UA-cam notification settings to allow them in the future!

Innate skill and ability to draw and paint count. It is not always natural to do this.
