Thank you for this video! I’m in the U.S. and the sensor is position the same… right side of the center console. Removed right seat and cup holder on the back of the center console to access the yaw sensor. Extremely tough to get to that second bolt… removing the cup holder gave a clear view and access to that second bolt. I had to tear apart the old sensor to remove the harness. That was frustrating to tear apart the car to get to the sensor and then that crazy wiring harness! Thank you again… saved me a ton money!
Yeah that back bolt is a right pain! Having the battery ratchet helped me alot Glad the video helped mate how's the disco going after the new yaw sensor ? All sorter?
I did not have a battery ratchet which would have been helpful for sure. I used a regular ratchet and spent way too long trying to get that second bolt. Going through the back of the center console I could see the bolt and was able to twist the socket by hand since there was no room to ratchet. Anyway… as soon as I plugged in the sensor I started the car and it worked! What a relief! Then back to putting everything back together 😂 Thanks again! Cheers 🍻
Hey Frank I'll have to double check but I used my super long nose 90* degree plies and from memory a small flat faced screw drive to help pop it out at the same time From memory theres 2 tabs to push in simultaneously but will double check
So I used the pliers to keep pressure on the plug to help it pull out whilst pushing the tabs on the side on with the screw driver mine was tight as because that water proof seal was a big swollen inside the plug
How do you find the ICarsoft code reader? Consensus on forums seems to be the Gap IID Tool does everything but I’m struggling to swallow $900 for one vs. $250 for iCarsoft code reader.
Hey Sean so far the icarsoft has been able to do everything I have needed Reads all codes including trans, air, and abs faults Resets service intervals Does brake bleeding through abs module Steering calibration Injector coding And one more thing but can't remember what The only thing I don't think is does is raise and lower the air suspension for lifting like the gap iid tool does but considering I'm on coils I can't justify the price either regardless of how good the GAP tool is
@@keithmalone3678 thanks mate , there factory 18" rims power coated black and running 265 70 18 bfg ko2's Fair bit of trimming required up front , and the rear I had to fold it the body joining lip under the plastic inner gaurd to stop it from chopping up my tyre on upwards travel
You mentioned getting a second hand module, do you have a good source for second hand parts? Its one thing I've always struggled with in Perth. My D3 used to throw yaw sensor faults all the time when I first brought it. I haven't done anything about it but I haven't had it fault for the last couple of years

Thanks for sharing...all the work is worth it...love my D3 it's a love hate relationship...but most of us who can fix them ourselves love them...
Agreed love my d3 and do enjoy working on it , this fault had me broke for a while haha glad it's sorted now though
Another great vid bud, loving your work. Wish this was around before I paid $1500 to replace my yaw rate module.
Thanks Fab aslong as you have no lights on your dash its still a great result though haha
Thanks for supporting the channel 🤙🤙
Hi mate would you mind sharing how you unplug the yaw sensor? Mine was stuck pretty hard and I feel like I am risking on break it

@@OUTBACKDiscovery Many thanks for the info! I'll try it again later today. cheers :)
@@frankleo3460 good luck 🤙
Hahaha, that bit where it just worked and you had nothing to say 😂😂😂
🤣 it was like a last ditch attempt I was like sure it's not the yaw module 🤣 and yeah hadn't planned what I was going to say hahaha
Well now I know just to cut out a hole under the console tray that pulls out if mine ever gives me trouble.
🤣 that's one way to do it

@@OUTBACKDiscovery was going to ask this same question.
What rims are you using. And what tyre size are you using?
Again great vids mate.

@@OUTBACKDiscovery just ordered the same scanner.
Did you find it easy then to sort your tyres ?
@@keithmalone3678 nice one mate , if you flick me a messege on my instagram I can send you through some photos of what I had to trim and bash haha
