- Few things give me more joy than finding the perfect cigar for a momentous occasion. I've made a lot of videos about which cigars are the best and most popular, but this one is a little different. This time I'm getting ready to celebrate a special occasion of my own. Sometime in the next few hours, my daughter will be giving birth to my first grandchild. So in this video, I will be taking you through 8 cigars I intend to smoke to celebrate over the next few days. These are my personal top special occasion cigars!

Just finished my new house. Built it myself, not quite 3 years. We have 4 kids, moved in two days before Christmas. Christmas day was abut 42° so I sat on the deck and lit up a My Father Le Beiju 1922, one of my top 5 favorites.

It may not be the happiest but on Friday at 10:52 a.m my step dad passed away I smoked my last cactus Wren to celebrate his life I believe that was the best cigar I could have smoked to celebrate his life thank you for bringing on that blend and congratulations on your granddaughter
In 1995 I bought a box of Partagas 150yr Anniversary and I have 3 left. I plan on smoking one when I christen my cigar lounge, second one when my daughter's gets married and third one is birth of my 1st grandchild. Cheers to you Tim and your 1st grandchild.
I need to find those! I love Partagas cigars, including the Cubans! And the Partagas Decadas, with the 10-year-old wrapper is smooth dark goodness. With flavors of chocolate, coffee and Brazil nuts for starters. I just wish I could get a 20-25 count box? Instead of 3count tins.

Celebrated my son’s nursing school graduation with Plasencia Alma Fuerte Natural this week. Such a smooth smoke. Congrats on the big upcoming day!

Congratulations! I understand, my first grandkid was just born in October. I’ve only been enjoying cigars a bit over a year. I figured I’d try something special and went with a Padron 1926 series 90 maduro. Maybe it was the special occasion, maybe it was the cigar, but I tell you what…it was the best I’ve ever had. Creamy , chocolaty delicious smoke, not overly spicy. Perfect. Enjoy the new job title - grandpa!

Two daughters and one boy. The boy at 26 gave me a first grandson. Odin Nicholson. Cigar was the Padrón 80 and the Placentia, Alma Fuente Salamone. I know not spelled right but don’t care.

One day. God welling me and my son Ryan and ma grandson Odin will be able to have a smoke on the day he graduates from high school. Just like my grandpa and dad did with me.
Long line of cigar smokers the Nicholson men are. Ma grandpa smoked King Edward and ma father smoked gold and blue, La Auroras and I smoked everything. Ha ha ha.
Now I’m putting a box of Plasencia
Alma Fuerte in Salomon in the humidor for when Odin graduates high school. Should have about 13-14 years on them. And I hope the tradition continues with Odin and so forth. Congratulations to you and your family! For me, every birthday, Davidoff Winston Churchill Late Hour. Weekends early morning, when I get to kayak fish, Sobremesa Brulee. I won't replace them.
My actual celebration is coming up, but the event just happened this week. My buddy, a Desert Storm veteran with severe PTSD and multiple (minor but cumulatively life-altering) injuries, _finally_ got approved for V.A. benefits. This _long-overdue_ monthly check will guarantee that he never _again_ has to go without housing or food. As for what I'll smoke to celebrate, I'm still deciding whether it will be a 5 Vegas Classic Robusto, a Gurkha Park Avenue Maduro Churchill, or a Mark Twain (Memoir or The Press) Maduro Churchill. I have to go with what's already in my humidor because I live in a rural town, and the closest decent is literally 100 miles away. As for your list, I had my first Oliva Master Blends 3 a couple of weeks ago, and...WOW!!!

Living in your 40's is crazy for sure. Some of your friends are still having kids and some of them are becoming grandparents. Some are divorcing and some are getting married. Congratulations on becoming a Grandfather. It is so cool that not only will you get to experience so much of their lives you most likely will get to be a great grandfather someday and perhaps even a Great Great grandfather one day.
Yeah. It's a very strange season of life. I couldn't be more grateful to have kids and now a grandchild. Makes life a lot more colorful! I've got some time to enjoy this before I become a great grandpa... I hope. lol.

I smoked a Cohiba Diamanté for the grand opening of my cigar lounge.
My baby cousin was born in November 2022. He is my late grandfather’s first great grandson. Something about it being a boy made it feel extra special. My dad, my brother, and I lit up a Oliva Serie V. I think that’s gonna be our “family line cigar” from now on.
When the wife and I move into our next house, settlement is in March. I have a Don Pepin 20th anniversary ready.

Last celebration cigar was for my birthday a few months ago. Went with a Dunbarton Sobremesa Brûlée Blue. Was my first time I tried it and it didn’t disappoint.
Tim, one of my greatest moments in life was holding my grandson for the first time. I gifted my son a box of Oliva G Robustos to pass out to his buddies. He is a cigar guy as well.

Congrats! Last year, I celebrated my 40th birthday, and my brother got me a Davidoff Royal Release. It was a great stick and I enjoyed it. Later in the evening, I had one of my favorites, a Stillwell Star Aromatic #1. I've found a few that I enjoy more since then, but at the time this was my cigar of choice. Now I keep a few Oliva Serie V Maduro for occasions. Great picks!

Last celebration was retiring from fire service after 25 years. I had a gurka ghost along with some Johnny Walker Blue.
Grand kids are the best. It’s a federal law that you can spoil them and no one can do anything about it. Hug and kiss that baby every day they grow up to fast. Take this from a grate grandfather.
Sir don't apologize for being a young grandfather. It means your grandchild will have you in his or her life much longer than most. At this rate, you might even get to watch your future great grandchildren grow up.
For sure! Honestly, I have stood around the gravesite of all 4 of my grandparents, and looked around at the legacy of family they had created. I think there's nothing better to leave behind in this world than a family filled with lives you get to love on! I am very much looking forward to that!

You're not wrong! I will be smoking some DTT this week. This was just my lineup for the days immediately following the birth... which actually happened yesterday as this video was posting.
That master blends 3 is not really under the radar but somehow underrated... it's not like you want to hear people talk about the same cigars year after year but I don't hear this cigar talked about enough it seems. One of my absolute favorites. Especially in the torpedo 😎

Congrats Tim! I just smoke when I want to regardless of anything to celebrate or not. As far as you list...although I'm a huge fan of Drew Estates and the Undercrown line I am not a fan of the Maduro 10 year. I've smoked 2 or 3 at different times and got absolutely nothing out of them. Just stiff and flavorless IMO.. Would love to see some Partigas or CAO reviews etc.
