Sobremesa Brulee Blue! Flavor bomb and pure elegance! I just can’t help but take a look at it after every puff! Its the Connecticut that I compare every other Connecticut. The benchmark Connecticut in my opinion!

I can retrohale the entirety of Southern Draw’s Rose of Sharon. It’s like a toasted marshmallow on a cinnamon graham cracker. Every puff makes me stop what I’m doing and look at the cigar and admire it. Another good and slightly cheaper Connecticut is My Father Connecticut. I could totally smoke 1 a day for a year and be happy.

My top 3 if you like a more medium-bodied ct shade with more complex flavour profiles
    1. Perdomo 10th Champagne
    2. Perdomo Habano Ct
    3. My Farther CT which I find so creamy but also complex as it transitions.

Ashton Classic Churchill was my first lesson of instruction. Solid Stick for starting out. Mild, smooth, creamy from foot to head. A little pricey but worth it for the consistency in this cigar. I've moved into the Perdomo world and the Champagne 10th Anniversary reserve is a knock out for the developing pallets.

I really love the macanudo Brazilian shade, perdomo lot 23 Connecticut and Camacho Connecticut. The last one is the one I started with and often return to it. Moved on to other ones after about 1 years and currently my palette I creeping towards Habano wrappers.

Oscar 2012 - I did my own little smoke down with this and the Rose of Sharon. Both excellent cigars, but I gave a small edge to the Oscar.
    Henry Clay Warhawk
Brickhouse Double Connecticut - Very much enjoy this one for a more budget conscious cigar.

As someone who was introduced into cigars with a dark heavy Drew Estate Undercrown, I started with a light Connecticut cigar and worked my way to medium Connecticut blends and that's where I live. I do like a strong dark Maduro from time to time, but Connecticut blends have my cigar lovers heart (Especially if it has coffee flavors in any way).

When my son was born in 2020, I bought my first two cigars to smoke with my dad. At that time, I had only heard about Cuban cigars and chose the Cohiba Siglo I. I had never smoked anything in my life, but it was a great experience. From time to time I continued to buy, the next were Partagas D4 and H.Upmann Half Corona. Here in Brazil, the volume of counterfeit Cuban cigars is very large and I decided to buy a sealed box of 25 H.Upmann Half Coronas. The box is dated April 2023, I smoked it in May and found it too strong, I felt sick. I found it much stronger than the Half Corona I smoked previously. I kept the box in the humidor with boveda 69%, I won't open it for at least 6 months to try it again. Until then, after watching all the beginners videos from Cigars Daily (thank you Tim for the great work and contagious energy), now I bought these for my ultra beginner taste:
    - Ashton Classic Monarch
    - Oliva Connecticut Lonsdale
    - Tabak Especial Dulce Robusto
    - Davidoff Signature No. 2 Tubos
    - Acid Yellow Cold Infusion Tea 6"3/4 * 44
    - Acid Blondie 4" * 38
    - Acid 1400cc 5" * 50
    - Perdomo Champagne Magnum 50 Tubo 6"
    - Macanudo Cafe Crystal 5"1/2 * 50
    - Arturo Fuente Hemingway Best Seller Natural 4"1/2 * 55
    - My Father Connecticut Robusto 5"1/4 * 52
I can't wait to spend a good time with each one.

I've smoked every cigar on this list except the 601. For me, the best connecticut out there is the 2012 by Oscar Valladares. The flavor, consistency and price is unmatched anywhere. I really enjoy the Brulee Blue, 20 Acre Farm, and the Highclere Castle but they are all almost twice the cost of the 2012.

I tend to enjoy a fuller profile first thing with my few cups of black coffee. A couple hours later, midday, I find myself looking for a creamy Connecticut to pair with a root beer, a cream soda, or a bottle of cold water, maybe glass of non-sweetened iced tea. I’m looking forward to trying that Southern Draw…Rose? Rose of Sharon? I’ll have to go back and watch the video again and write the name down so I won’t forget. I agree about the RyJ Reserve, it is a very satisfying smoke that get a lot of hype but people seem to like it.

I've only been smoking for a couple of years but I have never been able to tolerate a Connecticut. My first cigar was a Perdomo 20th Anniversary Connecticut and I couldn't get the cigarette flavor out of my head. My second was a CAO MX2 (double maduro) and that's where my love of cigars began. The darker the blend the sweeter they are to me. I've smoked a handful of Connecticuts since but I don't seem to find enough flavor to make it to the final third. I'm currently smoking a Diesel Wicked by AJ Fernandez and it's like magic. That being said, I'll smoke anything that's given to me.

I am very new into my Cigar journey. What I have found so far is that a full flavor has less flavor for me, than that of most of the Connecticuts that I have tried. As an example, while I do not pick out specific flavorings as of yet, I found a more satisfying experience and taste from an Oliva Connecticut Reserve, vs an Oliva V Mad, or the Oliva V Melanio. Apparently (at least for now) my palate is backwards. LOL

The second time I had it, I actually enjoyed it, pretty consistent flavor profile. Now I personally like the nub Connecticut. Much like pilsner beers, conneticuts are under-appreciated for their simplicity by those who overlook the painstakingly delicate process it takes to create a premium finished product. Or perhaps a vodka parralell would be better. ...or a single barrel/malt. I find them particularly nice for a round of golf, or anytime when the sun is out and the weather is hot.
Anyway, I'm going to remain skepitcal that the Brulee doesn't have a sweetened tip. That being said, I love 'em. Perdomo's 10th, The Rose of Sharon, Davidoff no. 2 (which is probably considered dissapointly smooth to some), and perhaps the RP Vintage '99 to round out the my top 5. Honerable mentions to Comacho, Tabak (love the Cafe con Leche), and the macanudo cafe.

There are just too many great cigars out there to pick a favorite, but for connecticuts i find the Rose of Sharon makes it into rotation at least once a week.

fairly new smoker her, and i have really enjoyed the Aladino Connecticut Robusto, very unintimidating, but smooth and creamy, with enough flavour for me...down to nub

First cigar ever was an Aurora 100years torpedo. Second cigar ever was a 2012 TAA Tatuaje conneticut broadleaf. Threw up 20 min in.

Sometimes I think I got lucky or the stars were aligned but I really loved the Lot 23 by Perdomo. Clearest example of honey and cream flavors. Haven't seen it since in any of the local shops around me sadly. Would like to know if I just got a really good batch or it's that consistently good.

The Lot 23 and Habano CT are my favorite Perdomo’s. Even over the Champagne 10th anniversary.
