    Milamber destroying the arena in :Master is one of the most epic moments from my childhood.

      And then retelling that scene in another characters perspective in a succeeding book is just priceless and epic !

      And finally it will be adapted for TV ... soon. I would have preferred big screen, but oh well. I've been waiting 40 years ...

    Pug is okay but Jimmy and Arutha really made the whole thing for me.

      Yeah, their interactions were always the best. They always kind of knew what was going on behind the scenes or at least knew that what they already knew wasn't the real story, and there was more to it than meets the eye.

      @Rikki0 4 роки тому +1

      @@muldoon67 I liked Talon and Sparhawk as well, but Talon was just a might too precocious for my taste. Jimmy was just as confident but more respectful of Arutha and less arrogant. Still, both combos worked well in their respective environs.

    Magician: Apprentice was the first "big book" that I ever read, and fell in love with the series from the start.
    This is the first time I've seen & listened to Feist speak. I find him much sharper and quicker than I imagined he would be -- forgive me, I'm the soppy type, myself, and I pictured him speaking more slowly and more patiently answering very similar questions in different ways to help complete the asker's understanding.
    In retrospect, it's my imagination that is naive and silly -- after all, he did write Jimmy, Arutha, and Roo.
    I liked how he (Feist) became impatient when essentially the same questions were asked a second time. 😆

    I’ve read all of Feist’s series, pug was actually the least favourite of mine as beyond magician, Raymond created far stronger characters. Eric and Jimmy were tow of my all time favourites until Feist worked with Jan. Mara of the Acoma (may Chochocan and the gods of the empire forever support her rule) will always be my all time favourite of Raymond’s.

      I still find Tomas the most interesting character he's written. He did such an amazing job of tying his story arc off.

      I loved Silverthorn so much as a kid i made the hand my UA-cam nick name lol. Roo was also a great character and i loved how different a Merchant Prince was from all the others. But after repeated reads of 20 or so books in the Series.. i am fully in camp NAKOR. Just so great. Never shows how powerful he really is. Always a mystery.. and great comic relief rolled into one. I wish Feist would do a prequil
      series about Nakors adventures all over midkima 100 years before the rift war even started.

      I think Eric might actually be my all-time favourite of his characters, at least until Queen of Storms when Hava took that position. You can definitely see his skill in character writing growing with age and practice.

      @@joshuathehand8214 Nakor is definitely up there for fun characters, holding a solid third in my list of favorites, right behind Eric, with Hava from the new series taking my number one position.

    Mara of the Acoma in the empire trilogy is a very interesting character.
    Servant of the Empire describes what happened as a spectator when pug challenged Almecho
    And the repercussions that followed.

    I think Erik Von Darkmoor and Perrin Aybara are my two favorite fantasy characters. It's odd that they are both Blacksmiths. I have no idea why that draws me as I have no smithing experience. I think it may be because I'm a rather large, physically powerful guy that always had to be careful of others because of my size.

    • @sagichdirdochnicht4653
      @sagichdirdochnicht4653 2 роки тому

      I wouldn't call Erik Von Darkmoor a "real" Blacksmith tough. He had Skills, and he propably would have gotten very good at it, but he ended up a Soldier and quickly climbed the Ladder. So he'll stay a "Military Guy" to me, even tough I'm sure did rule Krondor wise as well, as long as he held the Throne there.

      As someone who reads the German version the name pug isn’t weird because the German word for that dog is actually mops. I still found it kinda funny because I knew it originally was written in the English language.

  • @kght222
    @kght222 6 років тому

    he had so much in that world, including some things that he didn't create himself, that you could tell that he struggled ALLOT with the last three books keeping things together. lots of continuity and editing errors in the first editions of the last three, don't know about any further editions. it was pretty obvious that he had mentally checked out concerning the series, although he did end up finishing with an enjoyable story, it wasn't as high quality as some of the other sagas in the series.

      EDIT: also i don't blame him for phoning it in on the last saga, the midkemia series is at least half again the size of the wheel of time, and the wheel of time is no small thing. and this isn't like forgotten realms with multiple authors.

      @@FILIPBG100 oh, and i won't spoil it, but the final scene in the series while touching and somewhat satisfying is an obvious joke about the entire genera, i haven't seen many people who have caught that, but if you go there lemme know if you agree.
      EDIT: the last scene will give you tears if you are emotionally invested in the series, but once you digest you will realize that it was a joke about fantasy books in general. it is pretty clever.
