The fact you completed the job top to bottom, inside and out, in under two years is absolutely astounding. Not to mention having a toddler and homeschooling to boot. I've been watching since the schoolhouse. You inspired me that I could do big reno. I just completed vaulting my ceiling and putting in Rockwool (because of you) now to tackle drywall. Thanks for the inspiration. from a 57 year old grandma in Wisconsin.

The before and after pictures are simply astounding. I'm sure it would have cost double and probably more if you paid someone to do all of that. Best thing is, you guys have the knowledge to fix something if it goes wrong. No waiting on someone to come and charge you an arm and a leg, lol. The worst part is over. Winter is coming and you guys can relax in your beautiful little cozy house.
You underestimate the value and quality of materials. Ashley and Doug are right regarding the worth. The labor alone will be hard to recoup on a resale. Plan on staying a while.
Seeing everything at once is awesome! You basically built a new house on the same foundation 😂 it’s been amazing watching and learning from you guys... on to the barn! 😂🤣

I disagree though when you say you renovated it, actually you built a house because the only thing left remaining of the original structure is the framing and foundation. Love the finished house. Good to go into the winter season with a warm cozy house. I hope you plan to make the landings for the steps to the doors a good large size. I have too often had to deal with a small landing that is only large enough for the door to open. When carrying in children, groceries & packages having a good space helps. AND when Santa comes to the children he will need a nice wide space to carry in all the packages for Miss Belle and Master Maverick. I hope he doesn't forget Ashley & Doug !!!

As for the rain over the doors, there are rain diverters that attach to the roof, as I'm sure you both know, we have them on our house's in VT and they work awesome. I know you're proud of what you have accomplished and rightfully so, but I just wanted to say, that all of us are as equally, if not more proud ! You did a MAGNIFICENT job and most professionals would be jealous. If it was possible to give multiple thumbs up, I would be one of those people !!!!!

From a non professional standpoint.. this has been amazing to see the transformation happen and I think its shown a lot of non professional people what they can do. Its been a pleasure to watch and see the commitment made to get this done bwtween 2 winters. Well done. Its a thing of beauty.
Your house looks GREAT. Just a little note: The easiest way too figure out roughly what it would have cost you if you had contracted the complete job out. Simply figure your total material cost and X it 3-4 times more. Most times $$$ area is figured in. Some contractors-companies will add an extra 5-10% on top as a sales commission. I've seen higher formulas used from big time companies with large overhead. You did your homework. I give you both 5 stars ea.
It looks amazing... I cant help but wonder what the neighbors driving by was thinking.. especially those who never saw a hired crew there and just saw the 2 of you working so hard on the house.. what an amazing transformation :)

I know where there’s another doublewide in Michigan that’s exactly like yours, just a little different by the back door from what yours was because it’s on a basement. Do you want to renovate that one too? Lol just kidding. My husband and I did some painting and minor work in it but nothing compared to what you did. Your home looks amazing now. It’s a huge transformation.
That final shot of the original house was shocking. What a change. And you did it all together! Even Belle and Maverick (remember when he drew those cute circles on the floor to copy what you were doing?) Ashley, we see you holding things, fetching things and cleaning up but I know that one of the hardest things must have been living in an unfinished house. Months without a kitchen must have been horrid. No room for the baby. Dangerous materials all around. You deserve a big reward.

Your house looks GREAT. Just a little note: The easiest way too figure out roughly what it would have cost you if you had contracted the complete job out. Simply figure your total material cost and X it 3-4 times more. Most times $$$ area is figured in. Some contractors-companies will add an extra 5-10% on top as a sales commission. I've seen higher formulas used from big time companies with large overhead. You did your homework. I give you both 5 stars ea.
The place is basically all brand new, wow. You all should feel really accomplished. Way to go, you all.

I know where there’s another doublewide in Michigan that’s exactly like yours, just a little different by the back door from what yours was because it’s on a basement. Do you want to renovate that one too? Lol just kidding. My husband and I did some painting and minor work in it but nothing compared to what you did. Your home looks amazing now. It’s a huge transformation.
That final shot of the original house was shocking. What a change. And you did it all together! Even Belle and Maverick (remember when he drew those cute circles on the floor to copy what you were doing?) Ashley, we see you holding things, fetching things and cleaning up but I know that one of the hardest things must have been living in an unfinished house. Months without a kitchen must have been horrid. No room for the baby. Dangerous materials all around. You deserve a big reward.
