Our bus is a 1998 Blue Bird Flat Nose 29ft Bumper to Bumper.
We have a 5.9 Cummins 12 valve motor and Allison MD3060 Transmission

To this day I believe the mechanics messed up your bus. You drove it from the man you bought it from with no issues. How many miles was that? You drove it to the mechanic with no issues. You pick it up from the mechanics then you barely get down the road and break down. It doesn't add up, except in their pockets!! 🥺☹️

@@isaacturnerit Totally agree, but the key to this story is that you didn't complain or make assumptions, as it was pretty much hard to prove at that point. Instead, you spoke only of the solution, got it done, and focused only on your goal and blessings. I genuinely believe that if we had a view of everything behind the scenes, we would see all of your blessings and happiness, and all of the opposite for the other party, but thanks to your extreme intelligence and great spirits, we ONLY SEE YOUR BLESSINGS AND SUCCESS. Ain’t no way I would’ve gave them another 21k after giving them 4600. That’s crazy! Now what I do like is he has a sense of community and how everyone helped with this project.
12 valve cummins don't just "blow up." They forgot to put oil in it, or it coolant, and it overheated. I believe the cummins dealer is liable for this bill!
One of the reasons why I always try to do my own work on stuff. A lot of mechanics, contractors, etc are mouthbreathers and do not care about their work. These 12V motors run forever if taken care of and not abused.
How is it possible that this video doesn't have more views?! This was amazing to watch and such a beautiful turnout. I'm blown away! Great job to all wh o came together to make this masterpiece of a home! And little Miss Ember is just adorable!
The video doesn’t have many views because people hate to see other prosper , but the heck with the haters I’m enjoying every minute of it and I’m a woman of 79 years old, wishing I could afford to do what he’s doing 🙏Amen 🙏
Ah man, they made you pay $4,600 to ruin your motor just to have you pay another $21k for a new motor? What was the point in paying the $4,600? They were supposed to make sure everything was okay? That was so so wrong. It makes me sick for you. It’s awesome that you were so easy going about it but they just screwed you my man. Please post what dealership that was so no one else gets screwed out of $27k. So sorry that happened to you but amazing results.

Honestly, I can't even watch the rest of this video in peace. I can't stop thinking about how obvious Cummins effed up the motor. Even if they didn't intentionally break it, you gave them 4k to go through it top to bottom. A huge issue like that doesn't just go from 0 to 100. There had to have been warning signs. So, they missed the warning signs or they just straight up effed up. There's NO way you should have paid for that.

The Beautiful Part is that You Have Somewhere Else to Live While You are Converting the Bus into Your New Tiny Home on Wheels. You Also Have It In a Garage Witch is Helpful. I Definitely Like What You Have Done.

It seems the bus was working fine before they worked on it, I think it was something they did to it. I feel they should have come good for at least part of the new motor. I might be wrong but just my feeling.

This was WAY more work than I could have imagined. Thanks for talking me out of taking on a project like this - I would have not gotten past the first 10% of that without losing interest or feeling overwhelmed!
You done an amazing job on the bus, its such a shame that cummins didnt take responsibility for there lack of quality workmanship, you should of had a 1 or 3 month warranty on the work and parts they done. In the UK and EU you do.

If you haven’t already done it you should put a bead of silicone across all the cabinets and walls and couch etc so it’ll seal the floor off if y’all have any spills it won’t run under the cabinets where you can’t clean it up

25 min in. Great job guy's. 👏 I have a ole 89 bluebird and 12v. I haven't worked on her in yrs. She's been sitting behind the garage 😐. I got about halfway into my build before I got shut down for health reasons with thy ole man. But every spring I get that spring in my step to want to get back at her. Great job so far. I like what you're doing. Peace and love brother/Sis/Amber. Great name for your daughter. That's my first babies name.

Bro, I am ready for a nap after watching that! That was so much work and I got to see some footage I didn't see on some of the other vids I didn't go back & watch...sorry. Again, it is gorgeous but will you reveal how much the total was for everything including 21K blown motor and early repairs? It's got to be 40K or more. You have a very strong and reliable home on wheels now. That should bring peace of mind. I hope you are resting and just taking it easy now. A HUGE thanks to all who had a hand in it. It doesn’t look good for that Cummings dealer and I bet they’re not aware of the publicity they’re getting afterwords. The least they could have done was to discount the new engine the $4,600.

Hopefully the shop gave you a massive warranty complete with yearly maintenance for their mess up. I’m completely jealous of that shop. What I wouldn’t give for an indoor flat work surface!! My RV is either hanging off into the sidewalk a bit or parked on the street… neither of which is level or safe to work on. I have to take it to my daughter’s house because she has a longer driveway. Beautiful work though. You guys are amazing. That turned out so so nice looking. I love the retro colors on the outside.

In Australia a bus engine would have cost from $4500 to 14500. You need to shop around next time because 21000 seems a lot.
