New alignment of track on south side needs land accusation and it will take long time. Some land owners may go to court or demand higher compensation. Railways may consider for double track as future expansion. I understand navy is trying to increase the current air strip to futuristic runway INS parundu has strategic importance considering proximity to international border and geopolitical implications.
Same like Takkolam Arakonam - INS Rajali naval base realignment . But it took more than 10 years to complete. Hope this completes soon
Don't compare INS Rajali naval base @Takkolam and Naval Base near Mandapam. INS Rajali is not located in any sea shore but it is training centre and prone to any secret spy risk. This is naval base where they send Navy men into sea for sea border patrolling. This centre also equipped with adequate defence etc. INS Rajali severely opposed electrification of the route and I do not now technical reasons. Nor Rajali explained things open. Even I do not understand why they chose a naval centre very close to railway tracks near Tirumalpur where there is no sea at all. They should have preferred Kalpakkam or Marakkan where they would have got better significance etc. I guess INS Rajali is in charge of communication system of navy for entire South India. I may be wrong in my views also. thanks
55 Km stretch of strategic importance for Indian nation. Still IR has developed this route very fast since 2015 by adding many trains to existing Boatmail and Sethu daily roadies. On completion of bridge also first star is Amritha Express a daily roadie from Kerala to visit RMM. Most probably a faster VB bi weekly or tri weekly via mainline to RMM from Egmore will also feature. Thanks sir

அப்போது தனுஷ்கோடிக்கு செல்வதற்கு ராமேஸ்வரம் ரயில் நிலையத்தில் பச்சை கலர் சிக்னல் கொடுக்கபட்டாது ரயில் கிளம்பியாது தனுஷ்கோடிக்கு சென்ற ரயில் அங்க அங்க நின்று கொண்டு தான் இருந்தாது தனுஷ்கோடி ரயில் நிலையம் நுழைவாதற்கு சிக்னல் முற்றிலும் கொடுக்கபட வில்லை இதனை கவனிக்கத ரயில் ஓட்டுனர் மழை காரணமாக தான் சிக்னல் விழுகல என்று நினைத்து கொண்டு ரயிலை இயக்க தொடங்கினார் அப்போது தான் சுனாமியில் ரயில் 😢 சிக்கியது 😢 நிறைய மக்கள் இறந்து போனார்கள்
