The Everly Brothers were extremely talented. 100 times better than the shit of today.
Yesterday,
da haben sie ja so recht. Damals konnten alle noch live singen und spielen und sie waren ja so was von viel besser als die heutigen, welche aber dennoch bei jeder Gelegenheit auf dem roten Teppich
herumstolzieren.😅
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yesterday
I would like that 10,000 times if I could
Loved the Everly Brothers music growing up in the 70’s and having attended a Dionne Warwick concert a few years ago I could not get over the fact that Phil Everly was sitting right behind me. He was respectfully introduced that evening and after the concert ended I was honored to have him autograph that evenings program. So sad to say he passed away about a year later and upon hearing of this sad news I lit a candle with the autographed program beside it in his honor.
I think it's about their timing...the reason they look at each other. Their harmony is so perfect but the perfect timing makes it that much better.
Its like they use the same brain
Watching this video is like opening a suitcase that you lost a long time ago, containing all that is dear to you.
Grateful thanks to you ,fellas. Rest in Peace.
all these years later their music and voices sound as beautiful as ever
They were more than the sum of their parts. A perfect lead voice, a perfect harmony, two perfect acoustic guitars, yet a more than perfect act.
I have been a fan of "all" the Everly Brothers. When I met my first "love" All I have to Do Is Dream my song. When we broke up couple years later all their songs seemed to reach out to me.Even 70 years later their songs bring back those memories. There will never be another Everly Brother Duet. Just watch the two perform, watching each other to harmonize.

Oh WOW, I just found this clip. I saw the Everly Brothers at Chequers and was lucky enough to meet them after the show. I was only about 11 or 12 at the time and i still remember it clearly. I have loved these guys it seems almost all my life. I am 65 now and still love listening to them just as much, what a pleasure. Thank you technology and youtube for allowing us all to see this stuff.

Brilliant really loved it. Didn’t realise Don was so funny.
Me neither! It come s as no surprise that his timing was impeccable, but I had no idea that he did all the talking, that the entire routine was picking on Phil or that it was THAT funny. Phil says nothing, just calmly waits for the next tune. But then again, wasn’t Phil the one with perfect pitch? Weren’t most of the harmonies his? He didn’t have to say anything. But it sure is great to learn how UC fun their concerts were…
@@lynkhs They started appearing on their daddy's radio show at a very young age. I've listened to some clips, and they were very poised already.
Neither of them sang better than the other. Don was able to harmonize as well as Phil. In fact, when they were younger and Phil hadn't yet figured out how to harmonize, Don allowed Phil to sing the melody and Don did the harmonizing. After Phil finally "got it", he suggested that he sing harmony since he had the higher voice.@@lynkhs
This is a perfect lesson in great songs, voices with a simple sympathetic band. This is MY melodic rock.
What a gem of a video. These beautiful boys mesmerize with their fine-tuned, beautifully synced melodies. So timeless and underrated!
This is the best of Kentucky, I ever heard from this wonderfull everleys
I was only 6 years old when this happened but love their music!
I was only 2 that time~But I love them so much ! I found them days ago and I'm in love.
I was 7 at the time of this concert but definitely grew up knowing and appreciate their music. A few years back 2016-17 I attended a Dionne Warwick Concert and sitting right behind me was Phil Everly and yes he respectfully introduced that evening. Shorty after the concert ended I had the honor of him signing my program. Sadly to say he passed away about a year or so later.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. I’m grateful that I get to listen to a live concert from these super talented mega superstars while I paint my house 🤙

@@EverlyBrothersInternational we
How unfortunate that today's generation will likely have no idea who Don And Phil Everly were and as to how they influenced so many others in the music industry who became well known in their own right. Just a few who have lauded praises upon the Everly Brothers are Paul McCartney, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, Brian May (of Queen), Carol King, John Denver (when alive), Barry Manilow, Elvis Costello, and Nancy Sinatra. I don't know what happened to music but something did. We may never again see the likes of Don and Phil Everly and this is NOT simply 'nostalgia' speaking. It's a sad fact
yes sad they did not have to shout music words touched your heart😘😘😘👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻amazing
there will be 99% of young people who have no idea, but there is 1% out there, like myself, who are praising the everlys! Because what you hear on recordings you can also hear live, like this video proves and not such crappy autotune. I just love them, period ^^
Yes, I'm afraid that is very true and such a sad, sad thing for the future. 😪
I REALLY second your
Although a few wonderful youth of today love this one-of-a-kind great music, the sad truth is that most of our youth are, in my opinion, now in a dismal no-man's-land of pop music 😢, my 21-year-old son included. Yet another prayer, or another chance to put a trouble into The Hands of The Lord (what a Friend We Have in Jesus). 🙏✝️🌏✌️🕉️💖
Hi Rod
I too absolutely appreciate the gift The Everly Brothers have been. May add that The Bee Gees to credit the Everly Brothers for wanting them to harmonize and get into music. Thank you for your great comment, stay safe, healthy and happy. God bless
This is pure music to my heart and ears NOT JUST SOUNDS like nowadays!! These boys may rest well in Heaven now! May Jesus take good care of them!! ✨🙏
Such an incredible and unique talent. They had an absolute intuition about each other, they were really connected when singing. You can hear all the little vocal inflections that change from performance to performance and they nail it together, perfectly, every time like they were sharing the same brain. Special guys.
I heard Don say in an interview one time that it was almost like they could read each others mind when they were singing. That's how close they were to each other!
Blessed to have been there to see this show. An incredible experience - sublime harmonies and precise, rehearsed timing. Chequers was dark and very atmospheric - low ceiling, good acoustics with lots of wall drapes to absorb the sound. A wonderful feeling in the room. Absolutely fabulous to find this video. Thanks for posting.
I was born in the eighties, but thanks to my parents I still listen to their music, thank you Don en Phil!

The raw energy with phenomenal talent Phil and Don bring it. I saw them in Syracuse NY back when they were doing their reunion tour. It ranks in my top five concerts, love this video!!
These brothers had a lot of love for each other which can be seen when they are singing .
These guys didn't need a studio, sound board, or any enhancements, or much backing. Even with a venue that has terrible acoustics, they sounded just great. I got to see them in Vegas near the end of their careers, and one of them, I think Don, had trouble standiing erect b/c of back trouble. They left the high notes out as well. But it was great to see them finally !!!
Fantastic thankyou boys , God bless x
Two gifted brothers not only their great blended voices and talents but also their full thick hair even in their later years. For sure they have very healthy bones too.
LOVE this video very very much !!! Performances are so brilliant, both of brothers look so gorgeous n enjoying themselves.
Lastly "Kentucky" sounds heaven !!
But not-so-excited-audiences don't seem to deserve to participate in such precious opportunity ...
Undrstand your point about unenthusiastic audience but American audiences tend to whoop and holler all the time and drown out the performers.
@@marcushaliwell7340
Also wouldn't praise audiences' rough behavior that's likely to spoil performances.
But I wish they gave a little more passionate applause for EB's priceless playing.
Sorry but actually I'm a Japanese !
They are gone but they will always be the best
If I had a time machine I would go back in time to see this live.

About this time though in the R.A.F. I was in a US service club in Bangkok for a drink one night and they had played there the week before. I was devastated to have missed them but this must have been the same act so now I've caught up - amazing.
Just amazing....the version of 'Dream' particularly incredible, the different lead voc nuance to the record, immaculately replicated by Phil....and what an ending....just perfection. This is musical artistry at it's absolute best.
A lot of lives and memories are build on their music. It was, it is and always will be great music.
That version of Dreams is simply amazing.
This is incredible footage. What a treat.
Realmente grandes artistas, carismáticos y muy guapos

Wie schön sie waren.😊😊😊
Exceptional performance !
OMG! I only just stumbled upon this by mistake. 🥹
My Mum absolutely loved these two and practically raised me on a musical diet consisting of some of their best songs.
Even as a kid growing up in the ‘90s, I still moved more towards liking Don but I never knew he could be such a comedian onstage. 🤣 How in the world he managed to live close to a full decade longer than his brother, is something I’ll never understand. 🤣🤣🤣
If looks could’ve killed then Don surely would’ve been dead long ago - that expression between the two when Don started stirring the pot over the “Don’t Pick on Phil” notes & the story about the lost little baby blue blanket was priceless.

The reason Don lived longer was because he and Phil quit smoking, but after the breakup in '73, Phil took the habit up again and continued smoking for many years. They quit singing around 2004 because Phil just didn't have the breath anymore. He finally quit smoking, but too late. He died of COPD. (And I say this as I sit here with a cigarette in my mouth!!!)
Sie sahen aus wie süsse Puppen, besonders Don damals und sein lächeln😊 und hatten meeeeeeerega Talent.❤❤❤❤❤❤
So happy to see Don n Phil sing looking each other with smile.
They keep good performances hereafter, but gradually they didn’t show smiling.
That’s too regrettable ...
RIP Don Everly

Kentucky - two chords and the truth. Absolutely sublime. The whole set was a knock-out - performing at this level in a three-week residency in an Australian nightclub is barely credible.
This video is both touching and beautiful.🌹

Phil so schön und Don sah zu der Zeit wie eine Puppe aus.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
They harmonize so amazingly well. Truly a classic
Sie hatten so ein süsses Profil.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Beats me how this audience could be so wooden and seemingly pretty unappreciative of the fabulous singing and the humour. All credit to the Everlies for keeping their energy up with so little feedback.

The audience was upper middle-class socialite types representative of the era. Very stiff indeed. Having grown up watching Brian Henderson as a news anchor (the guy introducing the Everlys), I know this would be his idea of having a very good time.
All their lips where tight, one of the best lines in a song I ever heard
"Little Richard" Penniman wrote the song "Lucille," and 'the boys' loved doing it.
The magic truly was the two of them.
Sheer Vocal Perfection 🎶🎤

I just became aware today that the older Everly brother, Don had passed just this past month. It brought such sadness to me and I have been watching their videos all day. Such a god given beautiful harmony from these brothers! Rest In Peace brothers.🙏🌹
Two beautiful Men make a gal cry.
How I wish I was there. I was born in 68' in Sydney. It would have been awesome to have been a teen in the 60's. The Everly's are pure class. Donald has a wicked sense of humour and Phil is laid back enough to be chilled about it. ❤❤
The glory of Kentucky

this sort of live entertainment could not have been easy for these guys. They were quite young, and to ad lib the way they did is challenging. They showed a lighter side in this venue than I've seen them before. Quite pleasant, actually. Thank you so much.
Don, scheint so stark zu sein, aber es ist Phil, der in sich ruht, der auch die Harmonie, die er singt, ausstrahlt. Danke fürs teilen
They leave me...

Wonderful video. Thanks
Love them ❤ xx
Don killed it with the cracks about tassie and the opera house the crowd gave him nothing.
wish there musician's like them around today
Was die früher für tolleTalente live erleben konnten.😊
Dieses Lächeln.💘
i love your voices
This version of Lucille? Amazing!
Great songs. I like how Don and Phil would look at each other and smile throughout this performance. I don't think Don was being mean to Phil I think it was just an act that both brothers were in on. I truly believe that Don and Phil loved each other dearly like most siblings...even if they didn't fully realize it themselves until it was too late as unfortunately that happens sometimes, and I also don't think they knew how to tell each other they loved one another other then through music. Sure there may have been fights, arguments, disagreements, and lawsuits but that doesn't mean they didn't love each other deep down. It's obvious now that Don truly misses his brother (Phil) as he stated in a 2016 interview that he has some of Phil's ashes at his house and says "good morning" to them which I think is rather sweet of him myself.
By the way, yes, I know about the recent copyrights claim lawsuit but I heard that Patti, Jason, and Chris actually started that although I don't know for sure if that's true.
P.S. The Everly Brothers were before my time but I still enjoy their music. I also enjoy listening to Buddy Holly although Country is my favorite.

Es uno de los videos mas completos de la primera época. Cuando lo veo me transporta a mi adolescencia. ¡Inolvidables!
I don’t get the criticism of Don’s humour being cruel to Phil. It’s obviously tongue in cheek and very typical of the way brothers josh each other. Phil was grinning all the way through. Don does a brilliant stand up comedy routine throughout the session - and it’s cleverly interwoven with their incredible singing… fabulously entertaining.
Andy Kaufman may have been inspired in his great Mighty Mouse routine by the Everlys' bass player! Great concert!
Terry Slater was my roommate on the road. He's an excellent musician and a wonderful guy.
He also wrote the music to "Bowling Green." He's since moved back to London.
Drummer is Tulsa, OK's Jimmy Karstein, who played with Leon Russell, JJ Cale, and is on the Eric Clapton "Rainbow Theater" concert LP.
Jimmy's a great drummer, as are all the musicians from the Tulsa area. Must be something in the water.
Any idea who the guitar player was?
@@sammccue500 I hope you're doing well Sam. Thank you for all the joy you and the Everly's brought to all of us. God Bless you. 🎼🖤

Greetings Sam McCure,
As another Everly Brothers enthusiast. I can't pass this once in a life time in reaching out to you who lived the experience with Don and Phil. Their music is incredible, it is phenomenal and still sounds current.
So sad we can never experience their music live again, this is truly heart breaking. Thank you for your musical contribution you brought to The Everly Brothers music. You brought so much joy, live and happiness to my life with your music. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and every fiber in my soul. Stay safe, healthy and happy. God bless.
The Everly Brothers attended West High School in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Don war ja damals eine richtige Puppe😊😊😊😊
So under-rated-- they started the rock and roll evolution- ask brain wilson, & Paul l McCartney, etc
Phil’s facial expressions during “So Sad” were priceless. As for Don’s patter, it obviously was an act even if at times, he appeared to be enjoying it just a bit too much. It reminded me a little of the way the Smothers Brothers did their verbal volley. They were on the air from 1967; maybe Don and Phil borrowed a page from their book. Just a thought.

Never really listened to Everly brothers before.. Great concert this one is. Funny interruptions, nearly would think the guy is on weed. Nevertheless great songs and singing. A big like 👍!
I think they adjusted their performance style to fit a cabaret act for Chequers nightclub.
someone explain to me...how 3 people put thumbs down on this song??? And my name is Danielle Kazista. Why my grand daughters name keeps popping up ???
Some people's taste is all in their mouths.
Don hat nicht nur eine schöne Singstimme😊
We l l how brilliant are the Everlys..no one like them ..fancy only one Mike only in Aust..I saw them 8yrs before in Melb at Festival Hall ,brilliant..Opera House hadn't been completed ,goodness
good!
if you want to know what they would sound like now check out The Cactus Blossoms
Zu der Zeit sah ja Don wie eine Puppe aus😊
Wenn Don redet, kann man schon erkennen, wie gut er auch singen kann. Er scheint ja die Leute dort ganz gut zu unterhalten, da sie ständig lachen😅
Don had a rough sens of humor
Could that be the origin of some troubles ?
This gig is such a wonderful moment !
Thank you for posting
Those were my thoughts too!
@@tberrardy Don's drinking was the problem.
@@lolthom1 Wrong. Being together since they were 6 and 8 years old, having to constantly tour, bad management and no record label support will do it every time. Donald was only drinking the night of the breakup.
