Dang, even their built in AI has trouble figuring out windows 11's settings.
Hahahaha
Haha so true :)
Hahaha 🥂
LMAO
Agree, it's somewhat unweildy.
1:30 Matt loves 💙 copilot.
8:00 Matt don't like copilot
15:00 Matt breaks copilot
19:00 Copilot unsubs Matt's YoutTube channel. 😝
Thanks. :3
:3 I hope it works well with Windows Subsystems For Linux (for hacking, programming, etc.), and so forth.
Right now it’s extremely extremely basic but it’s a start if they can get copilot to fully interact and use everything easily without any of these issues it’ll be so good
The question is if you actually want to do that. In order for it to do usefull things it will need deep access to apps and file structures which is a data security nightmare.
@@chidori0117 Just using windows is already a data security nightmare tbh
@@chidori0117 Obviously they'll need to figure out how to make that work safely, but I totally agree that to TRULY be useful, it has to be able to fully navigate my computer and move and edit files, etc. That can't REALLY be coming too fast, I assume, but who knows! I suspect in the future a locally run model may be designed to interact smoothly with Co-Pilot in order to deal with some of those privacy/security issues. So the part of Co-Pilot that needs to send data over the web won't actually be the one analyzing all of your files, it will simply tell the local one what to do and how to do it.
:3 I hope it works well with Windows Subsystems For Linux (for hacking, programming, etc.), and so forth.
@@chidori0117Soon we should have capable models that can run entirely privately on your computer with no internet. Problem solved when we get there. I don’t think we’re that far off from that
I want a CO pilot that checks and updates drivers, solves problems, and runs maintenance on the computer. Installs and uninstalls programs and configures them as well as Windows.
SIDE NOTE: BING has had a VOICE for a while now on the mobile app, BUT she will ONLY speak when you speak to her first, when just sending a message she won't talk back. 😊
You make it sound quite creepy, being an agent inside my computer all the time, but softened by your adorable presence.
Fascinating yet terrifying
Hey Matt. Good Video! The bing app had the speaking functionality since always that I remember, at least in mobile.
12:59 I love how thrown off Matt was by something that the Bing App has been doing for months now. Bing in the browser is amazing, but you need Edge (hah) or an extensions that kind of works. The Chat part of the Bing App has had voice like this for a while, and the Creative Mode on GPT4 is just.. it beats everything for me right now. I basically only use: Bing, and sometimes Perplexity, Claude 2, or Pi. Well, Ideogram & Leonardo as well, but I was just referencing text LLMs/Chatbots.
PI?
The read aloud function is also really cool. I have it read me the news every day, it sounds so natural unlike Siri.
Legit, I never used edge before I found out about the bing side bar recently. Now I can't go back to any other browser. Bing is so fkn great to have on the side.
They shouldn’t have even released this thing until the features are actually useful. This is Bing chat wrapper right now
This seems like it would be useful for a senior citizen who barely understands hiw to use a computer, but for anyone who knows the basics, this just seems like taking the really slow route for most of the things it can do. The privacy aspect is probably pretty horrendous, too.
I'd rather keep experimenting with Open Interpreter to see if it can help me with some more advanced use cases.
This is Fantastic!!! I will finally be able to find all the Windows settings Microsoft has been hiding and moving around beginning with Vista. Awsome!!!
Thanks, Matt. What would be really useful would be to be able to ask Copilot to work on your files and folders. For instance : "rename all the files in my image folder by adding a suffix for their creation date in format "_YYYYMMDD". Or "export all images in the Vacation folder to PNG format".
Even better: "find the pictures where XYZ".
Usefull information, well done, thanks :)
Thanks for the heads up on waiting to upgrade to Windows 11.
Very interesting. The part that you adjust. your microphone in Windows is an older part of Windows, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.. They are continuing to update some of those older tabs. But they still got a ways to go that's for sure.
Finally paint gets some love from microsoft
16:10 'Why can I not Google?' Bing AI looks over, puzzled, says 'Er, me?'. 😉
Underwhelming, but might just be they are saving the real thing for the full release.
Copilot itself looks more like a proof of concept, the real exciting part is that an AI can operate an OS, it's pretty big news
There is no real thing. AI was all hype just like the metaverse. You got excited about auto complete
@@MeatCatCheesyBlaster if your calling gpt4 auto complete, please get a grip of yourself🙏
@@MeatCatCheesyBlaster While it may seem tempting to dismiss advancements in technology as mere 'hype,' doing so overlooks the transformative impacts of AI, evidenced by its integration into various industries and enhancement of numerous services, including healthcare, finance, and even creative arts. To equate such transformative technologies to mere 'auto-complete' features reveals a significant underestimation of their potential and a fundamental misunderstanding of their capabilities and implications. Perhaps you should hit the books again before expressing such simplistic views. It almost seems like your IQ might be too low to grasp the depth and complexity of AI. Clearly, you're clueless about the extensive capabilities and applications of Large Language Models.
@@MeatCatCheesyBlasterpredicting the next word to a high degree of accuracy is a very intelligent thing to accomplish.
imagine a complicated mystery novel with obscure clues hidden everywhere in the text. at the end of the book, the detective says "the killer is..."
predict the next word.
I think the 365 version Will be comparable to a high-end car. It shows us the potential but for most people it's financially out of reach. $30 plus whatever 365 cost. It will cost you over a $100 in just a few months. Most people are not gonna wanna play around with a program that's that expensive
Don't get me wrong I think it's cool and for some people it will make sense. But for a lot of people they're not even gonna try with such a high entry point.
@@noyu8 This is brand new just consider that. The first motor vehicles weren't financially viable for most.
I downloaded the update, but this must be an older version or something because it's just bing chat with no integration with actual Windows functions.
I think you have to join to insider program and choose dev windows 11 version.
@@mirek190 I'm doing that now, but just as a warning to anyone else, it appears that you can't go back on that without resetting your entire computer, so make backups.
What I find interesting about this is it seems to be trained to respond in a way that gives the impression of sentience more than chat GPT. Like it'll say things like "I want" when it cant actually want anything because its an AI. I was messing with it and I sent it an image of a dog and it described it as "a dog with a blurred face" and I said "why did they blur the dog's face" and it said something like "maybe for privacy or to be mysterious" I explained that it was microsoft that blurred the image to it. It then responded "let me see the puppy's face" I explained that I did and I couldnt.
That sort of thing went on for a bit.
If Ai is trying to integrate into your personal windows, wouldn't it be a good idea to start using a virtual machine where this co-pilot can exist and have your main computer programs be separate from the ai? This will provide peace of mind and security plus whatever programs you want to run on the virtual machine can be installed
Matt vid pro please definitely test out whether or not the co-pilot can go into any app and do what you want or if it was specifically partnered with Spotify that is a great idea well worth your time.
Thanks chatgpt
Great! You must cover Copilot when it releases 🙏🙏
I loooooooooooooooooooove the music you chose for these, it literally made me let my guard down about microsoft beign evil lol ... They should hire you
3:47 Wait, wasn't Bing Chat powered by GPT-4 since the beginning?
What I'm most worried about is this AI spying on us. Purposely or accidentally? You basically just have to pretend that anything you ask it. Or give it access too Microsoft can see. Right? It depends on some different aspects I know there are way to check into this. By looking for incoming and outgoing data when using the service with a program like TCPView or something better.
It make it seems alot easier for hackers or someone who has got remote access to your computer to ask your details and file location in your computer.. Man it's scary when you think of it..
@@kenrock2 Ahhh.... If someone hacks into your computer honestly this AI does not change the game much at all. In fact using this AI will have a higher chance of tipping off the owner of the computer. Most people who hack into your system just run like power shell commands like you don't really know they have access. I'm not an expert but I've heard experts say this. Now this AI may open backdoors or what not. But once the access is granted via the AI or not. I don't think the AI matters. At least not now. In the future if it's somehow even more deeply tied into the system and is more a threat than powershell. And can be ran behind the scenes without the user seeing. Than my opinion may change.
@@MrArrmageddon its possible, even though its nothing to do with hacking, what if someone else uses the computer, like your family members, friends or colleagues who has very little knowledge in hacking skill can able to access your data easily using AI copilot, unless they implemented a camera that checks who is the user using the computer... but all these neat features just add extra more resources to the computer
@@kenrock2 Yes I get it. But generally is you want to protect your information you just lock your PC. Now sure if the AI has like a history or feature that lets you type like what files have I accessed recently or where are my passwords stored. It like bring up your secret text doc somehow. Then sure those are all issues where someone who is borrowing or using your PC for a moment can have further means. However even someone who does not know much about your computers only needs minutes to figure out a lot if they know even the basics and if the PC owner is not very careful. A lot of my sensitive data is in my default download folder. However I lock my PC when I step away.
@@MrArrmageddon exactly... currently windows has this feature that can even index your document content. So it makes a lot easier for anyone to search the document easily..
When I watched "Her" a few months ago I was like "Naaaah, that is not close, not at all". And now we have the beginning of it. We already know where this will lead too...
For some reason polish version doesnt have this update.
Bing is a thing, edge is a thing, Microsoft is king
It probably wont paste the text into text editor for you because of security concerns around code injection.
Thats what I was thinking. Security risk
If AI is to be useful to me within Windows I need to be able to show it a set of steps. Then for it to rinse and repeat as I showed it until it's done with the task.
Example copy a file from one folder to a new folder. Then import the music file from my Stream Deck, change the audio device, set the volume level, font size and font color. Then repeat all these steps for every file in the source folder until finished.
Like a complicated batch process.
Honestly I'm glad you nixed the copyrighted audio that Microsoft used. I watched their ad and it was atrocious.
Copilot seem to be stuck in the side of the screen, not movable or resizeable
yo, matt, did you generate that music? 😮
This looks amazing. I just downloaded the 11 update, not played with it yet though. My obvious question is, if it's all built into windows - will we need GPT, Bard and all the others? I pay for GPT 4 at the moment
View all these AI models as different tools that you can put in a toolbox and then choose the one that works best for the job at hand like a carpenter. Each one will be different and while you can use a pipe wrench as a hammer to pound a nail into wood you'd be better off using a hammer for that job also take into consideration the difference between generic tools and brand-name tools there will be trade-offs. Hope this was a helpful comment😊
You will not need anything but a valid Windows 11 licence, so just an activated W11 install. Even though I use Windows 11 I see no use for this personally. ChatGPT Plus gives me all I need.
I see this more as a swiss knife. It'll be able to integrate with several other applications, so you'll only need one. But different people prefer different brands/kinds of swiss knives with a slightly different task focus, so you might prefer Bard or classic ChatGPT for example.
@@MarianadeOliveiraSaituThat's a nice holistic view of things but that's not how it operates right now Right now it doesn't have the functionality that all the other LLMs have the large context window of claude The talkback features visual assistant and open search of Bard, or the advanced data analysis of open AIs chat GPT
same, wondering if I need to keep paying for things or if Microsoft is gonna be cutting them out with this
This is wonderful. I have an AI crush on you, Matt. We all do.
Nah bro. Speak for yourself...
Nope
I'm not sure 🤔
They must've nerfed it since you posted this video. I tried the exact same prompts as you (word for word); Just to see how it would respond and it absolutely refused to touch anything on my computer. It even lectured me about granting permissions to control my computer and said, I'm not an assistant. LMAO
Microsoft has been buying the rights to songs ever since win95. The introduction to the start button was accompanied by the song “ start me up” but The Rolling Stones
This is cool but im keeping win10 and am using the edge detachable* sidebar. It's good enough for now.
I'll definitely be using 365 copilot though if it isn't win11 only
Hello Sir, great video you have right there. I have also update to the most recent version through Insider Program, but I still don't have Copilot available. Can you give any tips please?
I have the same issue.... no Copilot same same
When I asked it to open a focus playlist for me, it just opened Spotify but didn't open to the playlist.
Yeah, odd that they didn't include the voice in any promos, and it's nice, indeed. :3
Its going to be improved as this is the start of 23h2 update, also it isnt just chatgpt it’s also dall-e 2 and 3 when it comes out plus they’ll keep updating it ahead of chatgpt when new llms come out from oai
Does it come with interpreter abilities? Or just windows plugs ? Thanks
been on the insider preview with it for a while and barely use copilot for anything
Ask it "Which installed windows apps on this computer can you access?" or "What are the names of the installed windows apps on this computer can you access?" for a more compact list.
Will this finally improve Windows settings where you never find anything and they make it harder to navigate with every update?
Mine says I'm up to date and the version is 22H2 instead of 22H2. Not sure why I'm not getting version 23H2.
same here, and I have the "get the latest updates faster" thing enabled too.
Wait does balanced and precise on bing not use gpt 4?
wish they kept cortana and evolved her into this especially since ai can do voices just fine now too
I just installed windows 11 just for DALE 3 but I can't even get it to install the copilot update for some reason. 😢
reading web info from edge is definitely the biggest deal in this release imo
Could you make another video to test the interactions with office apps like Excel, word, powerpoint and mails. Ask a question like "Could you make a powerpoint about the thos word file or this mail ?"
How about trying to ask it to create a macro to open your google browser
Removing the background on the girl that is jumping, is actually a very neat trick. It is able to distinguish between her blue pants and the blue sky, which for things like the Magic Wand in Photoshop is very difficult.
The new AI powered Photoshop is still the best there is, Adobe may be terrible but at least they can deliver.
Slow and steady wins the race.. Microsoft just keeps integrating and once you know it, you don't have to use your mouse or keyboard anymore
it would be rlly sick if apple released the same things for their apple silicon macs, cus they have an inbuilt neural engine
I wonder if u had wait first to write poem then open
its slow for now on responding but its a great feature
Wait, paint with layers? Where have they been with that?
Best thing is that it's free like "Paint".
matt goofily excited about tripe
IT does indeed open Spotify but is not able to play any of my playlists
Can it build and implement a browser extension for me?
I literally never heard of this happening.
I have windows 11 and that co-pilot isn't there yet
If it's anywhere nearly as reliable as Alexa, saying....
"WIndows, determine and demarkate which Confirmation picture files are not P N Gs."
will result in "Deleting all your P R O N files without confirmation prompt."
What??? Wait, nooo!
It is literally NOT in my task bar. No idea why. I have all the updates installed.
I hate that it pushes everything on my screen, I wish it just overlapped. Animations mostly suck too.
I hope the AI can help fix issues on the pc coz all Microsoft says is re-install windows, things should be more modular, if a part fails and we should be able to re-install it.
It will be the same stuff but a little faster, maybe good
I have access to 365 copilot but not Windows 11 copilot for some reason
I updated my Windows but I still don't have it. Why?
Matt, u tryna rizz up the copilot? 13:03
i just asked it if can speak out load it told me it cannot (for the first time out loud voice over speakers) then i said well you just spoke! and then she told me I'm confused and then cut me off and ended conversation lol. Perplexed
If this ran locally I would find it an interesting gimmick, but the fact it has to relay everything on your screen to their servers for analysis is pretty disturbing. Its basically spyware! I love chatGPT, but I love the fact it is modular and private, I feed it what I want it to have. This system has essentially unlimited access to my whole PC.
I'm on canary channel, so the copilot still not available on my device.
Can you talk about amazon???
The number of followers you have was underquoted by 1 at 17:50 (5,107, vs 5,106). Was that an error or did you get a new subscriber whilst recording the video 😊
you probably shouldve told the AI to also paste the poem into notepad
It's more like a placeholder at this point. Give it a couple years.
My copilot just says "cannot connect to service" no matter what i try :(
I have the new update installed, but i don´t have copilot
Does anyone know how much RAM or VRAM this AI uses? I imagine it's a very well finetuned like 3B or lower model or something? So likely runs off of ram? But let me know if you know anything.
3B quantized model will take around 1-1.5GB of ram. ( such small model will be fast even od cpu )
For instance I am using 70B ( quantized to q4k_m ) models on my PC and takes 40 GB on my RAM ( not Vram ) with the speed 3 words / s .
@@mirek190 Interesting. Yes I mostly use 33B 5_M I split between RAM and GPU. I have used 70B but for me it's slow. In fact I don't even get 3 words/s with 33B? And I have a 12700K and 4080? hmmm... I think I get around 2.6 tokens/s At 70B I get around 0.6 to 1 token/s but I have not checked in a while so I'm not sure.
I have ryzen 7950x3d with rtx3090 and using llamacpp for models 33B-34B q4k_m i can fit a full model on vram and have 30 tokens /s .... with 65B/70B models and q4k_m and 36 layers on gpu I have 4 tokens/s @@MrArrmageddon
It sends your data to Microsoft, it doesn't process it locally.
@@mason6300 lol ..llama offline models works offline workout internet
Just imagine when it can pilot software & unreal engine
i prefer to use it in bing chat, cause this is too narow for code, which is like 90% of the things i ask it. i hope they change that and also ad some windows features other then a few settings, that it can canchange. but it deffinitely has a potential if they improve it
Almost at the OS1 from Her, that's probably Microsoft 15
Apple is being quiet about its gpt ai. Wonder what they are planning?
Apple 🍎 likes to let their competitors work first, than release
how do i delete it though?
I haven’t gotten Copilot, is it because I have Windows 11 Home?
Guapo ❤
my windows 11 is stuck at a october 2022 update lol
Does it work offline?
I still don't have any updates sadly.
insider program - dev version
he don't know it can speak ?? I am using it from the moment i saw bing chat its so convenient and reads out so good
I had the icon of copilot, then suddenly disappeared…
sad its nochavailable in my country (germany) for at least a while
Clippy is back?
I asked it to give me a list of apps it can access.
Apple's silence in this space is deafening.
