yey 🎉
👋
Only in US & UK, I tried a VPN, but it wants a phone number in UK or US ggggrrrrrrr ❤️🇦🇺
Works in Canada! Thanks for the lead Matt!
oh damn I just spent 10 minutes on phind coming up with ideas lol. the best being: Design an image of a cute Japanese anime or manga girl in a sundress, but her body is an avocado with the text "Avocadorable."
I spent a full 24 hours working on this and it seems 1 year behind mid journey in terms of image but light years ahead in text.
In my opinion it is a matter of 1 or 2 months to have the text issues solved with Midjourney...
thanks, good to know. It's exhausting in terms of image at some of these ai sites. so I won't waste my time there.
The interface is better.
I think it’s related to hallucinations. More hallucinations means more creative images but less coherent text… probably haha. I would love to know for sure!
@@cryptopoussin2721you are too optimistic. They should to recreate their neural network almost from scratch. Midjourney can't understand prompt properly - it will be always a random image related to the prompt text. It should be smarter to understand a real meaning of the text. They can also create extra neural network with ability to fix text and run them together. It's a faster way, but with a lot of issues.
Thanks, Matt👍🏾
I couldn’t believe I wasn’t Subscribed. I am now!
You consistently turn us on to what’s ‘really’ happening in this field. I for one, want to thank you. No one else does it like you.
incredible, cant wait for midjourney to "learn" text like this or ideogram to become better at image generation
According to incoming updates from Twitter, version 6.0 will have text coherence
Wow! I've just sign in and I've just got my firsts generations, no wait list, maybe it's open now! :D Thanks Matt!
it is open now!
same here
I’ve been playing around with this for a couple days. Absolutely LOVE it for typography designs. I still prefer MJ for images. But the dealbreaker for me in terms of using the images commercially is that all the images are public. Users are going to get ripped off like crazy by people pumping out POD products with images pulled from the site. MJ had better come up with something similar - and VERY soon.
use stealth mode
@@perfect_view777In MJ that is available but not in Ideogram. I was referring to users of Ideogram getting their images ripped off.
I ain't going to have no choice man when openai came out the people at Google headquarters started freaking out and issued a code red stop all of the project and concentrate on openai... These projects cost them money what was opening day I came out from beta testing in Google find out about it it was a code red situation. All other projects stop
You can also delete as soon as you finish downloading. It is what I do at Leonardo ai.
@@Oncewasgolden Can’t delete on Ideogram, but it is what I do on MJ.
prompt idea: text "Not all AI's are dyslexic" inside a colourful crossword puzzle. I am blown away by the logo ideas it comes up with, that watermelon farm with the giant watermelon behind the farm house is insane, the colours as well. damn...so much for my 16 years of graphic design learning
I always wanted to get into graphic design. Now, with Matt's guidance, I'm getting a quick education in it and LOADS of tools to use.
@@DaniHaviland Im just saying the game has changed and will never be the same, the big problem is now the boss can type a few words and be done instead of paying someone to do it.
Happy Diffusion is way better than Midjourney and Ideogrom!!
Found this yesterday, I guess before there was a wait list. It is ASTOUNDING. I'm living in it right now.
Hey Matt, great work, as always. Here's my idea for a prompt. -- Create a logo for a company that sells cat food. The image shows a black and white cat dangling a mouse by the tail, above his face. The cat is leaning back his head and opening his mouth; about to eat it. Include text that reads, "Mouse In The House" and in smaller text below, "Give a Cat a Break" In the style of Bugs Bunny.
I put in "create sequential art." The result was so ridiculous I couldn't even laugh at it.
PROMPT: A bald guy outside of a barber shop with the barber sign in the background that says "Hair Today. Gone Tomorrow."
Looks like Ideogram are using SDXL - perhaps a custom tuned version - as the model? The capabilities and the style list are a close match.
You would think, but according to them this is not true
@@MattVidPro I have signed up and giving it a try. I have a standard set of prompts I use, collected from generators over the last year.
Definitely ideogram is not behaving quite the same as standard SDXL for my prompts. Seems a little bit better on text comprehension, which is a good thing.
This is incredible, it doesn't just make better images, it generates faster and is free and easier to use. I've noticed if I have two characters in the same image, it kinda just creates two mixtures of the two characters. Ideogram actually gets it right
It doesn’t make better images though. It does text well.
@Edbrad It also does specific characters better, but yeah, the quality is worse. I tried generating hands and it made two thumbs
Actually, I'm looking for the opposite. I'm looking for an AI that WON'T put text into my images. One of the big problems with MidJourney, etc., is that on the one image in 10 that they get the fingers right, they will put a watermark or signature on the image. And no amount of negative prompting will prevent it.
So one issue I run into with logo generations is including small details. It can get broad ideas, but when it comes to specifying small details it cant seem to actually account for it.
Like, I want to make a logo that includes an ichthys fish in it. Most image generators will generate my general concept for a logo, but they leave out the ichthys fish.
I am very impressed with this especially typography which is a huge weakness of mine while doing. Social media post layouts
The thing is, unless you're doing very fancy text fx, it is fairly easy to put text into images using editing apps such as Photoshop.
Ideogram is cool, I use it, but MJ's quality is still unparalleled
Even when I put --no text, MidJourney adds random letters. Very frustrating. Let me know if there's a better way to do it. Thanks,
Exactly. Was just about to comment that you really do not need a good text generation. While it would be nice to have it premade and all that to avoid more work, you can simply add or change the text yourself.
Yes, but are there sites where you can blend images together with AI like Midjourney? Haven't found a good site for something like that yet lol. 🤔
You can use mid journey for this as far as I know
@@benjaminheim735 someone's illiterate
I have been working with an artist to develop my VR Theme Park Logo, but at the 11th hour they had a career change and now I am left with a 90% done logo. Thinking I would like to see how ideogram would do with it as it looks like it may be a good fit based on your video. Thanks for sharing with us your cool findings.
It can't understand something like "result of 15+9", but it's possible to fix it by a query to ChatGPT. It will fix a promt to "24". Every such neural network should to ask help from a big language model for a better results, I think. Or it should be like an optimized for visualization language model + visualization model in one.
It’s good that it’s free, and that it has a better interface than Midjourney. But it doesn’t seem to follow prompts very accurately. It also doesn’t have many features to allow flexibility in what we can create. I like to create really specific custom designs, but it doesn’t seem like it’s possible to do that with this AI tool yet.
You're not creating. You're directing an image trawler to put together a composite.
Human feedback = Midjourney's strength
Yes. It is open now. I spent almost the whole day yesterday playing with it.

Ideogram waitlist has been removed! feel free to join!!!
I think the Ai gets confusing feedback from it's audience. People love crazy stuff, funny stuff, bizarre shit. Ai is often being rewarded for this rather than the more sensible results, hence we see more and more of the strange, impressive and bizarre even if they are not what we really need for a project. interesting.
Enjoy your work and your content, but I've found Ideogram gets the text right 50 percent of the time. "Midjourney fell behind" is quite the stretch, but I guess in terms of typography that's still true lol.
Wow this is incredible. By far the best ive seen with text
Giraffe logo with the words "Empathic Listening"
This seems a very interesting AI system. Will definitively try that at some point. Also, I would argue that for a logo that you plan to actually use, having giberish text is not a big deal, because you will have to vectorize the whole thing anyway, and it will be relatively easy to rewrite the text during this step.
A sophisticated and detailed infographic describing the lifecycle of a population anthropomorphic lemon-people. Features a detailed pictorial description of how lemon seeds are planted and grow into lemon trees which eventually yield sentient lemon-people who interact with other lemons in a complex lemon-economy.
Really enjoying Ideogram. Thanks for the update, Matt!
Ai needs to be in software like Photoshop, Krita, or Blender, where people just open the software and type a prompt and get an image, no plug-ins needed, native in the software.
And to get an image of you and your friends, just import one picture for reference, then type prompt of a scene, and ai places the reference in any scene that you prompt.
That is the true successor to Photoshop!
What's even better for independent artists is to import a character modelsheet and stylesheets and then type in a prompt to place YOUR character in any scene.
It’ll happen eventually, we’re still in the development phase of Ai rn
I ain't trying to download a software if I can use it through the Web. Plus you got stable diffusion
Literally just signed up straight from the login page - no wait-list.
It looks like the winner is Midjourney for the imagery and Ideogram for the text. A quick PS comp later, and we're in business.
Amazing video Matt! 🤩
I really love mid journey and I love using it. In fact my only real problem with it is that there's no equivalent of a l o r a which can be trained by the end user. Style tuner doesn't come close and is now basically out of date. But yeah, especially in the last few months ideogram has been looking better and better. Only been using it through Poe so I'm not able to do any kind of in painting out painting, really anything except change the aspect ratio but yeah. I really like the prompt adherence, the relatively low level of censorship, the perfect hands and even toes and other anatomy. And just the overall look. I guess I'll say in addition to my previous gripe about mid journey, that it has a very specific aesthetic and although you can use raw and Jack the stylized value down to zero, that's when things sometimes get weird and don't look so great. This is definitely one to keep an eye on it I think.
It's much easier to add/fix correct text than to try to fix bad image
Trying it right now but their servers must be full , it says their system is busy and to explore other peoples generations while they add more capacity
I was really exited to give this a go, but I'm always worried about copyright and whether the images you produce are actually owned by you. I want to be able to use images I generate for commercial use for creating clipart and print on demand products etc. In their terms and conditions they specify "We hereby permit you to use the Services for your personal non-commercial use only..." and also state that you may not "download, modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, duplicate, publish, license, create derivative works from, or offer for sale any information contained on, or obtained from or through, the Services...". Am I right in thinking this means that Ideogram doesn't allow me to use the images I've generated via them for commercial purposes..? What AI image generators out there (if any..?) do - only paid ones..? I'd really appreciate some recommendations cos I'm fed up with finding out I may have wasted loads of time from creating images that I can't do anything with.
Lesonardo ai, nightcafe , dream, to name a few and oh and playground and stable diffusion(diffusionbee). You get the idea! This company is new and probably thinks they can get idiots to pay for the commercial license and they might get a morons who will pay. Truth is anyone even slightly competent with Photoshop can add text to images.
Impressive how it can add text as well!
Thanks for the discovery Matt ^-^ It's fun but sadly lacks controls/options... ^^"
8:13 I really hope to visit Varkele Waftomi some day.
So, Midjourney better for logos with no words. Ideogram better for logos with words.
Hey Matt. Hate to double comment on one post, but try using vary regional on each letter. You can generally get consistent results with great art. There's an FAQ about it in prompt FAQs
My prompt idea: Poster of 2 dogs facing away from another on opposite sides of the poster, a glamorous cat above and between the dogs, lots of pet toys sprinkled throughout the poster, with the words: "Welcome to the Cult of Fursonality."
It seems better in terms of what you want in your image. Like it recognizes some words better Examples midjourney and other ai’s outfits fail to make certain video game characters. Ideogram actually comes closer to the actual design of them.
Prompt idea - a poster for a Quentin Tarantino muppets movie with the title "Resevoir Frogs"
Invites? I just registered and it works
I figured out how to adjust the aspect ratio. Just click on the area right after the prompt and on the bottim right there are some aspect ratio choices.
Love to get it to see if it can generate a cover image for my next cd based on a verse or chorus of the title track
Wow my jaws just dropped with your video! 😱 I never expected that Midjourney will ever has to worry for another serious opponents, or ever feel threatened by someone else for surpass it on the image quality. But this ideogram has a lot of potential on its early stages! If only their staff continues to update it... But until now Midjourney is unbeatable on the image superb quality. Ideogram i believe was created exclusively for the Typography design, excellent Logo design, graphic design with text and Poster design.. The image quality is similar to the other Ai stable Diffusion generators. But one is for sure, it has overcome the Adobe Firefly on generating text!! 👍 Also it is shockingly good that it can find the appropriate Font to much it with the design. We designers know it is a very difficult task to achieve in design to match the font with the whole design! It's simply amazing! By the way I liked your watermelon Logo results! 6:51 the first one with the little farm 👍☺️
When I hear sentences like "use the Logo for a startup Business", I wonder how trademark and copyright of ai generated imagery is handled when used in a commercial sense?
Dude this stuff is SOOOOOOOOOO good! I can spend hours in there. And it is SO fast and there's no "tokens". Unbelievable!
Did you notice the sudden drop in quality that Ideogram is responding with now? Not to mention the saturation of name designs being requested, the app also seems to be having difficulties with texts. I don't know if it's because of the amount of people using it that the developers have reduced the capabilities of the model, or if the designs are just becoming monotonous, but it's definitely not like before.
The hits keep on coming!
midjouarny seems to have default style "photo cinematic"
Just so you know, "RIP" when in the context of someone/something that has died isn't the word "rip". It is "R.I.P." which stands for "rest in peace".
Great video! Any idea on how to change the aspect ratio? I'm only getting squares. Thanks!
I like the mid journey logos more a combination of this two can be amazing
Can we supply an image for text to be placed onto?
Can we request the text be generated on green screen background
That third Midjourney watermelon logo, tho!
Prompt idea…… Would love to see you try a prompt for a poster for kids with the alphabet and a child’s face above each letter and their name, starting with the corresponding first letter in the alphabet. Like school posters of animal alphabets. This would be so cool! ❤️🇦🇺
I clicked on the ideogram link and it signed me up without a hitch. Don't think there is a wait anymore.
right when I post this I noticed you pin, my bad lol
I wonder if this AI will also learn the sense of humour of their prompters
I always try with "The sky above the port was the colour of television, tuned to a dead channel" the incipit of Neuromancer, ALmost never get the right vibe from any AI image generator
Try out herb and smoke style saying “one hit a day keeps the doctor away”
I just opened the page and logged in with my Google account and that's it, I could start right away. But I do live in Belgium (maybe this is not yet well established here. thx 4 the vid.
Loved this :) Thank you. I am now officially a HUGE Fan.

Ideogram can help business owners create posters, infographics and logos. RIP artists again
It is no longer on a waitlist. I was able to sign up and generate an image within the length of this video.
I had to join the waitlist it’s been two days, still no email invite.
I am new here and you got me *hooked* up I will be happy to watch all of your video _as the perfect excuse for not doing anything that I planned doing today_ (Which was to wastefully spend my time on MidJourney thinking how bad it is to have a carton with 5 fingers... Plus a thumb... On the wrong side of its hand)... 🎉🎉🎉 😅
Well, I *was* going to comment, hoping to get one of your 10 invites, but now that it is public, no need. LOL
GUYS you can try it out NOW with no waitlist or anything! it's pretty good! not perfect, you still have to work for it, but it does deliver at some point.
Ideogram does amazing with text! But the people still look funky. MidJourney still creates the best realistic humans. If they would only take Ideograms text capabilities, MJ would be unstoppable!
Combine the 2 and add SD for control, and you have nirvana~ish!
I dunno, I'm kind of obsessed with Splittic right now...
There is really just Midjourney and STable Diffusion stuff. Midjourney for quality but no control. Stable Diffusion for control. Be nice when everyone gets it together. least they got text going on.
7:46 wWANK PLIRK WITHLAID 🤣🤣
I went to sign up and go in without any wait list. Did they just open it up for anyone?
I got access without getting on a waiting list. It’s 1 September 2023.
I just got access, time to try this out , thanks for the vid man
Wonder if Ideogram will fix its face quality before Midjourney gets text right.
Just been using it today. Very impressed with this generator especially the way it handles text
You can't use it commercially. Great for personal projects though
It will be great if midjourney acquire ideogram, If this happens then magic will happen
I'm going with the free to use option, Stable Diffusion and Automatic1111. Sure, I had to upgrade my GPU, but I was gonna do that anyway and an RTX 3060 with 12 GB is not really that expensive by today's standards.
How well does it work for other languages? Such as Chinese, Korean, Japanese or others which is not Latin alphabet?
1:28 “FUCK” 💀
PROMPT Batman completly made of the letterst BATMAN
It is sdxl1.0
Stable diffusion is the piece
Do we have any other alternative for an AI image generator that can incorporate typography?
i know its bad but im only using a model if it runs on my own pc. i was full freedom and no limits
I think I'll wait until they reach version 1.0.
Wow this seems to happen a lot.
Something weird is now happening with Ideogram and whats ' trending ' ... big eyed children and in my opinion its only if 60 - 80% female are users , when the opposite is probably the case . That is at least the pattern I see .
