The ref should have moved the ball back 3 yards to where Dak started sliding down. So the refs broke the rules in an attempt at helping the cowboys get a play in. Then they get blamed by the cowboys? Can you imagine being that entitled.
For real. And to have knuckleheads like Skip Bayless naming and blaming the umpire is just so over the top. What a despicable joke
@@halloweentimemachine Well, anyone that listens to Skip in the first place needs more help than we can give them.
Sure because having 1 more second would of won the game , give me a break .

A Super Bowl team would never have needed to score a last second TD to win a play off game.
“This is everyone’s fault but mine….”

The Alec Baldwin defense
It's Mike McCarthy's fault....you're blaming a guy for the last play, but ignoring the lack of discipline and awful coaching that put them in that position.
Are you kidding Dak played terrible for almost the entire game, but yet you blame only the coach! Dak is garbage, and he literally was being an idiot for encouraging his idiot fans for throwing trash at the refs!
Dak is the 3rd highest paid QB in the league. The other two? Mahomes and Josh Allen. Is there a problem with that? I think so.
@@gabbyjim8943 I didn't say he wasn't an idiot, but he's not trash. He's a mediocre NFL quarterback, middle of the road, nothing special. The coaching staff fails to utilize him as such. The QB draw play was called by the coaches....what kind of moron coach calls that play with 14 seconds?
14 penalties 8 of which either gave the Niners a first down or cost the Cowboys one proof that there's more to football than talent
I believe the Cowboys were the most penalized team in the NFL for this season.

Every year for the past 15 years Dallas has been less than the sum of their parts.
Well put
Only 15? I thought it was 20+
26 years
Can we stop the talk of how great a person Prescott is after he said the refs deserved to have things thrown at them?
Fr dude held no accountability for his bad play. Fans should’ve been throwing things at Dak. 75 million and dude can’t hit his targets accurately.

Not to mention immediate lack of self-awareness and hypocrisy. "We don't deserve it, we work hard." Right into, "F'ck the refs. Do your job."

He’s also a Walter Payton man of the year nominee. He doubled down after reporters gave him the leeway to change his answer. He won’t win that award…..trust me!
The 49ers hit them in the mouth then instead of fighting back the Cowboys hit themselves back in the mouth. As a Jets fan, I'm used to stupid plays but that final play was right up there with one of the dumbest plays I've ever seen.
Sounds about Right
The Cowboys hit themselves back in the mouth. That's freaking well said.

Its cultural.
I have no problem blaming the refs if they are making a bunch of ghost calls or something that changes the outcome of the game, but the refs in this game called everything correctly.

@@c.a.t4607 Explain why cowboys have the most flags in the league and their opponents also have the most flags in the league? Why are the cowboys games the most over refed in the league every week?
After 25 years of playoff ineptitude, through numerous coaching changes and continuous roster change, the more things change the more they stay the same. There is one constant. When can we talk about Jerry Jones’s failure as an owner/ GM? Whether it is bad roster building or poor organizational management, he is the one common denominator.
I keep telling ppl that but they seem to just blame coaches 😂😂😂
The Cowboys need to be purged of anything that ends in Jones.
Its not bad roster building because they have had their share of talents players and talented teams. But the owner meddling is definitely a problem, and wanting a yes man as a head coach that doesn't know how to get their teams disciplined is a problem.
Can we stop the talk of kellen Moore being a head coaching candidate?
He’s not competent in his own job
This comment needs to be forwarded to EVERY owner in the NFL…. 😂
He was terrible as a QB coach as well, Dak was playing way better the year Jon Kitna was there

If I've learned anything this season it's that I really have an unhealthy obsession with seeing Mike McCarthy fail
all of us are either sadists or masochists
14 penalties! And your not counting the ones that were declined!
And not one was arguable they were good calls
Dak is an egomaniac who is one of the most overrated QBs in the league. He's a pretty ignorant dude.
Handled himself with class until yesterday. Just a sign of the times in America. Hopefully, he'll apologize.
McCarthy has ALWAYS been terrible at time management! It killed most of Rodger’s career.
the ball needs to be spotted where Dak's slide started. Thats why the official moved the ball. In my opinion he should have moved it more to the other side of the 25
The ref should have placed the ball 2-3 yards further back. The Ball is supposed to be placed where Dak initiated his slide, not where he was touched. The ref knew that and thats why he moved the ball around a bunch. He was deliberating in the moment whether to do his job correctly, or do the Cowboys a solid by placing the ball near where the center did (even though Its way off the correct spot). The ref chose to be nice.
Wow, Rich, excellent show. (from a long time Cowboy fan) It's all true - a very excellent review of that game.
Deebo is a legit weapon. He reminds me of anquan boldin as far as physical as hell for a WR
I am not even sure how there is any controversy about the end. You can't have a team spot the ball after their play, that is nonsensical. The refs actually did everything they could to give the Cowboys more time than they deserved. Everyone knows if you have 15-17 seconds left you can't be tackled in play down the field and get another play.
Not to mention after they reviewed the deeboo run, they gave them 8 more seconds from 32 seconds to 40 seconds and the 49ers play clock from 29 seconds to 25 seconds an extra 4 seconds there.
Amen brother...rite? Pee wee football kids know that
The ONE thing that the ref should have done that he seemingly didn't is chase the play. He should have been there sooner, but he waited too long to start running down Dak. Still, Dallas lost the game, not the refs.
@@ColemanJRimer The ref was caught off-guard by the absolute retardation of calling a running play with no timeouts.
@@enthusiastofcute right? Nobody who knows anything about football was shocked to see Dak take off running. No way the ref was expecting a draw up the middle.
With 14 seconds left I'm gonna run into the middle of the field and then stand in front of the ref so he can't set the ball. Thanks REF!
I've honestly never seen anything like that.
Jerry might as well welcome Jimmy into the Cowboys Ring of Honor because that's the only way he's going to celebrate any Super Bowl wins.
Let's talk about the spot. If you watch the side judge mark the line of scrimmage, he's at least three yards back where the center placed the ball. It was an overly generous spot, they were trying to help Dallas to get the final play off. You should be happy you got the snap off...the spike was the issue...they should have taken a shot at the endzone.
I agree. Never saw a team spot the ball themselves then try to run a play. The umpire had no idea where to spot the ball because he never looked to see where the chains were. He just wanted to officially spot the ball somewhere so Dallas would have a chance to run a play. It would have been interesting to see the controversy generated if Dallas had scored after the spike because the umpire did not spot the ball correctly. Wonder if it would have been reviewable?
Thank you for seeing that too
Look to me like Dak started his slide right about the 26 yard line.
@@ltravail - If you check the replay, the chain gang wasn't completely set either

This isn't soccer, field hockey, lacrosse etc. There is no self start rule. The ball has to be set by an official, end of story.
Two things:

Mistakes are poison. Too many penalties will always make you lose
Can you please explain how a mistake is poison? Poisons are in fact the opposite, they are made with precise measurements that you cannot make any mistake doing. Poison by its very biological and physiological definition are the epitome of perfection.

As I was watching the game, I was feeling exactly the way I felt years ago during the Tony Romo era, a reminder of great teams, with good enough talent to beat mediocre teams that fail in the playoffs and then, when we finally had a great shot, the Dez no-catch threw out the window the last great team and chance we had, but also remember that playoff game vs. Giants when Cowboys were 13-3 first seed? Or that game vs. GB in Dak's rookie season? See my point? All those games filled with mistakes and self-inflicted wounds that came back to haunt them. Garrett and Romo. McCarthy and Dak. In the end, the game just proved that the Cowboys have been frauds all season long. They also have been mediocre for five years. They're the Minnesota Vikings with media hype and Dak is Kirk Cousins with better PR.

Daks attitude and comments after the game explained why the cowboys have always underperformed. I was wondering what the issue was, now it's obvious. He talks great but is kinda fake.
Just another Dallas punk.
Sad but true, great take
The spot Dallas got at the end was actually very kind to the Cowboys. It should’ve been moved back at least a half a yard farther. The ref took no time to properly spot it. Also if not for the injuries to Warner and Bosa the game never gets close.
I think the subs for both Warner and Bosa (and Lewis) played well. They still got after Dak all day long. There was no let up in that pass rush. That is a well-coached team (for the most part), better than what their record might lead you to think. But they tried to give the game to Dallas, and are lucky the Cowboys didn't want it themselves.
It should have been moved back 2-3 yards. The ball is supposed to be placed where the QB gives themselves up. Not where they are touched. Dak slid for several yards. Thats what the ref was thinking when he held that ball, "Should I do my job correctly or be nice to this stupid Cowboys team." He chose to be nice to the stupidly run Cowboys team.

You aren't scoring 17 points in a quarter often vs bad teams good luck doing that vs a good team
As a Cowboys fan I agree that we didn't deserve to win that game. I didn't count all the pre-snap penalties but I think over half of those 14 penalties were pre-snap. That speaks to a lack of focus and discipline. "Shot themselves in the foot so many times that they don't have any toes left" - classic line Rich!
Different players and coaches and all have the same result. The only constant is failure and Jerry Jones.
And the city
I remember watching the 1981 NFC Championship game between SF and Dallas. . A heroic see-saw battle with 6 turnovers by the 49ers. However, late game heroics by Montana sealed the victory. I watched the highlights of this game. Is this today’s NFL? Pathetically undisciplined and poorly coached. It all looks like arena football to me.

That back to back punt move was so weeeeeeird
"And who knew? Most of us."

But to be totally honest, I (as a Packers fan) am glad we got San Fran. We knew Hurts wasn't besting Brady, so that left the NFC West teams. It was either going to be San Fran (who nearly blew it to the Cowboys), Arizona (who's probably still a little sore for how we beat them in their own house the last time we faced off), or the Rams. Of those three, I think the Rams would be the ones Green Bay wouldn't want to face because of Stafford. He's hungry for a Super Bowl now that he has a real chance to go to one, and he's played in Lambeau Field cold a lot.
Us getting the 49ers could've been a gift. We'll just have to wait and see.

Sounds like something Dak would say.
Looking at the weather game time next Sat. night. It will be interesting
Every coach I listen to today said 16 seconds is the absolute line if you're going to run a play and get it clocked, it didn't even look like they practice that play that's how bad it was, the fact that nobody told Dax to give the ball to the referee is a joke
Dak should face a several game suspension for that post game speech.
Yeah,like 7 months cuz is out🤣🤣🤣
I like what he said at the end. Thanks Rams for playing the way you did. Your actions have consequences in worse ways. Let's be real, The Saints would have been an easier team to go against.
Cowboys would face Cardinals 1st round, and would still be one and done.
Doing things the hard way builds character. Give it a try sometime.
Idk why Rich said he didn’t like how far back the ref moved the ball when he spotted it? It wasn’t moved back far enough. The ball is spotted where the QB starts the slide. It is not spotted where he goes down. He committed to the slide just after the 25 yard line. Like maybe a foot past it.
In the 4th quarter it was frustrating for both fans.
When he brought up Nickelodeon 😭😂😂
WTF is up with the audio cutting in and out so much????
The Cowboys play call and execution at the end rivals the call and execution by the Seahawks vs the Patriots in the final seconds of the Super Bowl a few years back. If this game was the SB we’d all be debating which was the worst play call to end a game. Instead- it will be forgotten because it was “only” a first round playoff game. Brutal way to lose either way.
No way. At least Seattle got to have a chance at the play even though it was a bad call. I’m a Michigan native, have no ill will towards cowboys, yet I know you can’t run that play in 14 seconds. McCarthy is a joke and I couldn’t comprehend him getting hired even as an assistant let alone the head coach.
The ladies in the stands were crying well before the game ended. A preview of coming attractions!
Too many penalties.
I’m a cowboys fan and I haven’t watched a game in 2 years. No point. They are paying too much money to a qb that isn’t elite and rb that can barely walk.
I'm pretty sure by not watching your "team" that kinda shows you aren't a fan anymore
This goes back during Tony Romo era, they had great players and opportunities. But the Cowboy had ways to screw that up.
They had some great players but a trash team. Demarcus Ware and Sean Lee great players, but didn't stop the defense from being the third worse defense in nfl history. Olines were also trash and Romo had a run game in the top 15 only twice.
Romo also has the most playoff wins in nfl history with the playoff average of sacks he has.
@Figjam Fickelson Except Romo did that with a trash oline and below average run games, in a league that was way way way way way harder to pass in. And in an nfc east that had redskins, giants, eagles being top 10 defenses, 1 year all 3 top 5 defenses. Redskins had a great defense, giants had a legendary defensive front, eagles had a stacked group of dbs, that included one of the greatest safeties of all time Brian Dawkins.
Romo would throw 50+ tds a season with these rules and that insanely stacked offensive group cowboys now have, with the horrible nfc east teams.
Also just an fyi, in the same amount of games played at this point Romo had thrown almost 20 more tds than Prescott has. So not "nearly identical".
Jerry's to blame.
Always has been.
I love how Mike McCarthy kept saying they practiced the final play of the game over and over...well dummy...you didn't because then you would know the responsibility of the qb or the center is to hand the ball to the ref to spot it..and find him earlier
Jerry deserves McCarthy
We all knew that there were two ways this could go? How could anybody possibly know that a football game between two teams could go one of two ways? LOL
