Dave Morgan was a strategical GENIUS!!. He timed it JUST RIGHT!! The BEST IS YET TO COME!!!
Legette had more yards in one season than DK had his entire career at Ole Miss.
Love the content tho 💪
Was just bout to say that
DK cone drill was not garbage like Leggettes. Leggette and Mingo had almost identical cone drill scores, thats important because it determines separation after the snap.
@@dustinbarlow1623legette didn’t do the 3 cone drill you dunce
Guess they wanted that 5th year option BAD
Bad? They basically gave up nothing. UDFAs probably make the team around the same rate that 5th and 6th rounders do. Even if it's not as close as I think, the swap is well worth that 5th year option.
I’m in the UK and the draft was so worth watching until 5:00am! The fact we’ve still got pick 39 is huge! Where do you think we’ll go from there? Big time weapon for Bryce!! 🇬🇧🏈
O-line or TE maybe a DE
@@jasonallen28227 I’m hoping so! I’d love Powers-Johnson to still be there at 39 but a few teams before us need OL as well!
Xavier will be an instant impact player . His worth ethic is insane and he played hurt all year . This is a home run pick .
Sounds like drafting an injury prone Player
@@fabianreinermann3846like Corral
Dude will be relegated to Mingo level importance, he cant get separation after the snap. Never has been able to.
@@dustinbarlow162371 catches and 1200 yds playing in the SEC …. Yeah he can’t separate. 2nd behind only Nabors . He’s no Mingo .
5th year option plus they still have 39, 65 and four more
I’m not a “stats tell the whole story” guy but just for quick context :
Career totals : yards/ catches/ touchdowns
XL: 113 / 1,678 / 12
DK Metcalf : 67 / 1,228 / 14
AD Mitchell : 93 / 1,405 / 18
They all have similar grades
Buffalo called us ….they wanted the cap savings up front of moving to the second round. It saves them money this year. It was more about them than us.
At least we kept our picks. I don’t mind trading one of our 5th rd picks for a 6th so we’ve got a pick in every round. Dan knows what he’s doing it seems.
We traded our 33rd and 141
We got a 6th round pick with the Legett trade.. They gave us 32nd and a 6th and we gave them 33rd and a 5th round pick..
Julian, just be happy dude. Damn.
They basically moved up to get the 5th yr option for nothing. Still have a pick in every round and didn’t give up anything next year - not b/c they thought Bills would take him - solid move
We swapped a 5th for a sixth. Ill take that for a fifth year option.
It’s for the 5th year they wanted that shit baddd
5th year option is well worth moving picks later in the 5th. Most Panthers fans understand this holds strong value. Very smart move for Dan Morgan. You can argue the player, however, the move was brilliant.
Dan Morgan set himself apart from the old regime!!!!
Leggette was behind Mcconkey and Mitchell on everyones draft boards, so no actually he didnt.
The market for WRs is insane. A 5th year option is a bargain compared to what an extension would cost us. It's a good chess move. The value of this won't matter until about 2028 so if he ends up being the next Julio Jones (minus the height but same speed) it would be an ingenious decision.
Also Ironically, last year we drafted 1st overall, this year we drafted 32nd overall.
They did it for the 5th year option
Love the pick and having XL on a fifth year option plan. We were not wondering why we did it and knew WHY Morgan moved up one spot into the first to get him. Dionte Johnson & Adam Thielen are going to be great influences on this young man. I’m excited!!!
Fills two positions of need. With new kickoff roles you get a guy who may develop into a good receiver but can step in and be a good kick returner right away.
Bro chill on the Gamecock slander. UNC finally got a win and yall wanna talk 🤦🏾♂️
What he say?
What win? My WVU Mountaineers came in to Charlotte and smacked down UNC in the bowl game 😅
Who was they really going to get at 141 that was gonna make big difference? 😂😂
I think after the Mr Irrelevant draft we can always have hope. 😂
5th year option played a big role in moving up.
5th round option? We get another pick in the 5th round now? 😂
Imo the panthers have had a great off season. They got the player they feel will fit they're offense plus 5th year option. Can't wait to see what happens next. Great job guys. Keep pounding.
I commend you on this legit this is unk from the barbershop die hard panther fan told you you was going when I growl in your ear
They had that center, and that cb still on the board
Im with you brother
Ah crap I wasn't expecting this and I didn't watch all of the drafts so I completely missed this damn it
I didn’t watch last night either as I didn’t think we would move up. I will say this I’m not mad at moving up for or what we did we didn’t give an overhaul all so I can live with! Did we need to move up the jury is still out on that but I’m good either way !!!
@@willwall97 oh I'm not mad either do what you need to do to get the guy that you want if he's the guy then that's all that matters to me I don't really have anyone in my mind I'm too specific about other than kind of hoping we get that Kool-Aid guy because I think he would be fun just for the novelty of it alone that would be a jersey I would buy in a heartbeat.
But just like last year when we were getting our quarterback I didn't really care who we got in the grand scheme of things just as long as we got our guy even though we missed out on shroud as long as Bryce is our guy that's all that counts if this wide receiver ends up being great I'm happy I much rather prefer to see teams take risks and get what they want as opposed to just sitting and waiting and just hoping that the guy you want is still there if there's somebody you want go get them.
Didn't miss anything
At 39 I would definitely target Powers-Johnson or Zach Frazier to continue solidifying the O-line, however if they’re off the board I would trade back to get more picks.
If Legette turns into a star, the 5th year option for the difference in a 5th and 6th is well worth it.
So you dont like a guy with one year of production but whT has AD done in college one year of 800
,5th yr option is clutch
If he hits trading into the first for the 5th year option is worth it, by the time he’ll be up for his contract wrs will be making 40mil+
Dang bro you have clearly written him off already 😂😂😂
We might take another WR at 39 don’t be surprised if McConkey or Adonai still there
If Ad Mitchell was there that would be nuts
Whoever we get at 39 thats a receiver will have a better career than Leggette.
We are taking CB at 39
They did it and how did that work
I'll be honest when I heard they traded up. I was like another bad Panthers move. But to see the compensation, just giving up a fifth rounder in order to add a 5th year to his contract if he pans out. Makes sense. The
It was about the 5th year option
They get the 5th year option now
Julian you have such a negative tone this whole video. Leggette is good, we swapped 5th n 6th round picks lol. Relax and enjoy having this exciting weapon on our team
Leggette and Mingo have almost identical cone drills, which is important to know because that drill determines how quick you can get separation.
One pick and one round it’s not that much of a gamble . Are we considering that Bryce might have wanted him he did watch him play first hand in the SEC! I’m not mad at the trade we really didn’t lose much we still have 39!!!
More about 5th year option on Legette then simply just trading up Tillis has to be part of this trade up discussion to .
Most definitely do 5 the year he might even make it to 5 the year options
I think you still have ptsd from trading last year. We got our guy and swapped a 5th for a 6th to get him. Suddenly Bryce has an o line and weapons. And we have a pick in every round, who saw that coming after last year?
Why would you care about a 5th year option if you have no Ideal how the player will pan out.
I don’t see what the big deal is. Great move by Dan Morgan and Canales. Everyone is SO smart we start to over think the simple stuff 🤷🏾♂️
I’m thinking it’s the 5th year option, mixed with they’re worried another team might trade with the bills by today, and grab Leggette, bc other than that I don’t get it, I was really looking forward to us going back to back in the 5th..i really hope they tell us why.. but they must have a good reason why, bc fr they are supposedly the best in the world at what they do, so they MUST have a great reason to have this, if not , like wtf?? Bc was it is just me looking forward to the back to back 5th’s?
lol this man got his heart broke for not taking his favorite guy…. XL will be fine
You’re the one that told us about the 5th year option for getting a player in the first. Why are you acting like this is such a mind blowing move? This was a genius move! Now we get him for an extra year on a rookie deal and all they had to do is swap a 5th for a sixth. Or just maybe Buffalo called Carolina and told them they were going to take Legette if they didn’t trade.
If Adonai Mitchell is available at 39 do we double dip for WR?!?!
❤🎉🎉🎉
If Malachi Corley is available in the 3rd round, I would be tempted to take him.
I’d love to see a Tez Walker double down later on.
Tez sucks, no
I was really hoping for Quinyon Mitchell to keep falling 😭😭😭😭
The strategy is that Buffalo tells Carolina that they have been receiving calls about other teams wanting to move up.
No one wanted Leggette in the first round, no mocks had Leggette till mid to late 2nd.
They should of went center, cb, and then wr
everybody always hating it’s crazy
5th year option.
Run on WR's and you like one guy? Got him!
Fun fact is most people wanted Leggette as the last option available, not the first.
@@dustinbarlow1623 Yeah. As Canales said, it's all about the guy who fits the scheme, not just general talent. Hoping a big and fast dawg like Mike Evans.
@@stephenbailey9969 Funny is Leggette doesnt fit a short to intermediate passing scheme.
@@dustinbarlow1623 Then Bryce better do his pushups or he be gone and the next QB will be throwing to Legette.
@@stephenbailey9969 Legette wont be in the league in 8 years.
SPURS UP AND KEEP POUNDING LETS GOOOO
So they going to be able to get first round talent
Thats who i would of got is center
They should of went center,cb then wr
You bring up 1 hit wonder? Yet, Ladd and AD have no hits… if you’re looking at stats.
Adonai looks great too, but he also wasn’t picked so how do you know he is so much better. Who knows maybe we double dip if he is still there. Highly unlikely cause I guarantee Buffalo takes him
I would of waited
So we traded up for a guy that would be there at 39, Mcckonkey and AD Mitchell would have gone before Leggette. Leggette is already going to be a bust, the dude cant get separation, lets fix this by getting Mcckonkey or AD Mitchell.
Should of went center, and CB
Well it sounds like the owner wanted to show his friends that he can make a dumb move again. There was no reason to move up one spot and that was a goofy move. 🤣😂🤣
Let's Go Steelers Nation
The biggest thing is that you get the 5th yr option on a 1st rd pick which was the biggest reason for the trade up.
Just leave it as you wanted AD more.
Everyone wanted AD more. Leggette was behind Corley on most boards.
"this would not be my selection". I agree bro. I would have went with all-pro C,Cb,LB at 33.
Why does it matter they didn't give up much?
AD Mitchell was only a dawg on plays he wanted to be a dawg. That's why he fell into the 2nd.
I wouldnt move up
Lol they moved up for the 5th year option, anyone who doesnt understand that gotta be dumb 🤣 and now have reamining picks in every round left .
I’m SOOOOOO angry right now SMH. Why did we take Xavier Legette over Adonai Mitchell?
What do you think we do at Pick 39? 🤦🏿♂️
Legette is a dawg
They probably are planning to design plays around Bryce to LEGETTE.LEGETTE IS A DAWG!!
Whats so good about mitchell has never had a season close to legettes
@@bmill8780 Legette had ONE GOOD YEAR!!!! I don’t understand why you guys are not understanding this 🤦🏿♂️
@@A.Nel2684 Go look at AD's stats, then this comment of yours makes no sense
Hey bro. What the hell has UNC won exactly in the weak ass ACC? Pipe down. Also the traded up for the 5th round option.
Bills better draft a WR at 33 or we got played in the draft again. The 5th year option could be the reason, but we need that 5th round pick more than needing to move up to get a player we could have drafted tomorrow.
We had two back to back fifth round picks we could afford to give up one of them
Wierd draft for Panthers is now just a normal draft. 1 pick in every round.
The panthers love ben sinnott watch him get taken at 39
I think that will be the pick as well
Won't be happy, only because of the other options that will be there. Like C or CB.
Go ahead ensure and prove to us Dan Morgan was the problem not Scott Fitterer.
Kool aid
I don't buy into it either
I am just glad at the dumb ass pick the falcons made more than anything else
This comment is what I needed to make me happy today. 100% Agreed. They are the worst! I was so shocked by that.
Our pick was bad, but Falcons was worse, so its a moot point.
I didn't like this pick
Definitely not
Why are you whining?
The Bears absolutely worked Carolina, it's pretty embarrassing for the Panthers. Panthers could have had Caleb Williams, Darnell Wright, Tyrique Stevenson and DJ Moore,,,,but instead have Bryce Young. I told all you Panthers folks before last year, just tank the season, build up draft choices and get Caleb Williams the following year. Hell, could have been Daniels instead.
🤦 they clearly saw WR's starting to come off the board fast and Dan decided to move up to prevent Buffalo from trading with anyone else to get XL and them lose out on their man that they identified as the one they wanted to get, then you add in the 5th yr option as a plus to spread out the money and save enough in cap space to get Gilly then you don't have to draft a corner with 39 you can get a center to help sure up that O line like a JPJ or Frazier, plus Ad Mitchell has health concerns and rumors that he dont even care about football like that and Dan isnt going to draft someone like that not to mention we dont need a Ladd type profile WR bc we already have Dionte Johnson... y'all just sit back and chill and let Dan cook 💯
