FYI I know older video but still great. His stolen 63 strat was never found. He used an American standard in between the time another 63 was found for him.
Chris is a fantastic getfiddle player and a wonderful person. I have seen him live many times I flew with my wife from Philly to Charlotte NC to see him once he seemed very happy to see us. He is a "gotta see me live" player. I love his albums but live is where he rules!
I saw them sometime between '94 and '97 at a tiny hidden club near Traverse City, MI when I got stuck overnight on a business trip.. Hardly anyone there as it was a week night, not widely advertised and there were no signs to get people out there. All that written, it was a great show. My first time seeing a 7-string Conklin bass too. Blew me away that they set up their own gear, etc. I remember Chris was setting up his pedals and folks were asking him questions, which he gladly answered. Amazing access!
I've played that guitar. He handed it to me while we were watching football a long time ago. It was with this very incarnation of the band too. John's a freak. He can really lay it down solid.
I never heard of him until one day I was out in Abilene, TX with my son who was about 7-years old then. It was morning, a Saturday, the music store just opened and I was there to browse. In walks Chris, and he turned on an amp, plugged in a strat. I was blown away. Minutes later in walked Ted Nugent. I knew and recognized him immediately. Didn’t know they were in town to play. They both signed the back of my T shirt. It has long since faded. Wish I had thought to buy a pick guard and had them sign that instead.
My heart is filled with joy that Chris is back in rare form!!! See him while you can at 10-15 dollar shows!! One hell of a guitar player, but most importantly, a great person as well! He will rock your ass right off of your backside! I just wish John Jordan was playing with him. But go see him live anyway!!! NOW!!!
Chris is so dam funky, the man is full of soul, what a cool player, and this little jam is so nice,it just cooks right along...I must see Chris live ! I'd bring my Strat and ask him to bless it for me...."It's a religious Thing" !
Uno de mis preferidos . Un tipo super amable , pude cruzar unos emalis y estuvo simpático y amable. A ver si nos visita en España , que no hay manera !!!
man that guitar has seen some miles! SO weird seeing him playing the Xotic strat now rather than this one which hes played every show I've seen him since '94. Recently found out that my mandolin teacher, Dennis Bailey was the one that sold him this guitar in '93 or so in Colorado after his original '63 strat was stolen.
@SRV32566 theres a story on chrisduartegroupfans web site (wldnt let me post link) under interviews and True Story of Strat #2. im pretty sure this is the same guitar. Had his original '63 stolen in Nov '93 and this one was found in the classifieds a month later and bought by (or for Chris) in Feb of '94 just before he was to record Texas Sugar.
HAHA, someone said "shot" and then there's someone else saying RIP lol. He's not dead, I checked into it. I was gonna have a mourning here if he was, I just found out today that Doyle Bramhill died in November :(
Even in the rustier moments this is heads and tails tighter than 99% of anything touring today. Modal experiments at 3:10? You bet! Who cares? I'm diggin' the snot out of this, regardless of I-IV-V-IV-I.

Saw you guys at Sullys in Dearborn MI. back about 1995. I great show. awesome to see a reunion!

It's cool to watch the way his hands move. Awesome!!!!
Use to see Chris and John every time we could. He's changed up, but Chris is still great

Praise the Lord my son :-)
gene ferrari he'd do it, he's a really nice guy
I got him to sign my 79 the other day
If Chris had cranked the amp full blast; this video would have gone viral.
My favorite line up for this group. They never groove harder and tighter then Chris, John and Brannen.
