This video is going to save me so much money lol... I need some Halloween decorations for work, and I'm trying to save money and not spend a bunch for pre-made decorations. I wanted a few pumpkins, and this will be perfect for what i want, and will also probably work great for some other decorations like tomb stones and such. I'm going to try using shredded paper from work that I've soaked and blended smooth, i don't think I'll use the whole bale of the fiber stuff and i live in an apartment so i don't have the space to store it lol, but I'm super jazzed about this! Thanks for all the great info! 😊
The shredded paper soaked in water for a a couple of days will work perfectly. Also the same if you use cheap toilet paper soaked in water as well. I’m glad you’re enjoying these tutorials and are going to make some of your own decorations!
Your latest vid (after this one) has comments turned off, just in case you didn't realize that. I've used beach balls for the form and stuffed plastic bags (not going to do that one again) and I'm trying balloons now. Instead of tall oval (gourd-looking), I pressed the balloon down to be more circular. I hope it stays! I bought some plastic skeleton arms at the dollar store and will add legs using tin foil forms (will connect all with wire). Thanks for the pointers and yours are so cute!
Thank you so much! for letting us know when it’s comes to the eyes and nose with the mouth to kind of refill its and making smooth on the edges…I’m glad I sad your video and this woke me up of making the eye and the rest full… thank you again…..now I do have a question regardless when it’s come to dry? That’s it’s-dry really good inside home the pumpkins 🎃? Reason why I’m saying this because I have noticed my pumpkins I made two big one and they are outside because the temperature is over 89 to 90 and 100 degrees figure it’s dry faster! I go outside and I have noticed it’s starts to crack and it’s drying? So this is why I ask. Thank you again.🎃🙋♀️🎃
Are you talking about the clay drying or the paper strips that you put on the pumpkins first? Either way, I have found that it dries better if you put it in front of a fan inside the house. If you're clay is cracking, you can fix that after it dries but putting a little more of the clay inside and around that cracked areas, smooth it over with a paint brush dipped in paste and let it dry. I hope this helps!
@@scarecrowjosstudio2125 thank you and thank you so much! , I’m sorry, I didn’t mentioning of the type of paper mache clay It’s of egg cardboard! Yes it’s what’s I’m been going through in my two big pumpkins 🎃 I made and I still has to finish the bottom of adding more paper mache. But yes this is what’s I been seeing, cracking after two hour out side! I will say I love my big pumpkin, thank you for mentioning, to touch it up with paper mache and use the brush! I’ll do that! I think I’m going to do what you just said to let it’s dry inside and use the fan, for my others projects. And thank you again, have a blessed Wednesday 🎃🙋♀️🎃
So awesome! 🎃 Just what I needed and you're the perfect teacher!!! THANK YOU😍
Thanks so much for watching!
