I've just had a goose-flesh-inducing realization. When, one distant day, Alex Horne passes off this mortal coil, his tombstone must read: All the Information Was on the Task.
This is honestly one of the most wholesome episodes of all of Taskmaster I have seen. Each individual task was so creative and just so much fun. Love it!
Pet peeve - I'm not a fan of team live tasks at the end of episodes - as soon as the scoring system was announced Morgana in second place suddenly had a 0% chance of winning the episode.
I agree with you in general, I never like these 'all or nothing' tasks. As for Morgana....she already had 5 points too many despite cheating! It doesn't matter if she admitted it (in studio, weeks after the task), she didn't 'wear the helmet correctly', so her time for the tasks never started actually. I'm so surprised that more people are not upset about her cheating, and then not even being punished for it.
Overall, there was some really stupid scoring anomalies there. -) The 10-point studio task with no reason not to make it a regular 5-pointer -) The negative 5 points from the double negative task where usually it would be just zero -) The double 0 points team task (100 balls) where one team scored negative one while the other scored in the negative hundreds If the scoring weren't as weird this season (remember, there was only one task outside the 1-2-3-4-5 structure before this season and it was wildly criticized for it), Alan would be deservedly in fourth place, Guz at third and the two definitely strongest contestants, Morgana and Desiree battling out almost neck and neck.
I don't mind live team tasks but I agree they shouldn't have a 5-0 split, especially in this case as it meant Desiree was guaranteed the win. Unlike David Baddiel who was granted a win due to the teams changing for a live task (makes sense because he was so shit at tasks), Desiree had already won an episode and still had a chance of winning the series, and when they did a 5-0 split in the live team task in the episode Jessica Knappett won (also the first live team task), at least there was contention between her and James. While this is a very strong series, I would make a case for it having the worst scoring system. Not only was Morgana heavily favoured from mostly arbitrary bonus points as well as a few weird subjective scores (c'mon Snakes in a Can wasn't THAT good), but several tasks had a point gulf that was way too large, such as Guz getting 10 from the balloons live task and Desiree losing 5 from the double negative one. People often point to series 4 as having some really dodgy scoring because of Hugh Dennis and Noel Fielding, but at least they generally stuck to the classic 5-4-3-2-1 formula
As for 'all or nothing' tasks, there's a few occasions where they added that stipulation in last-minute just so one contestant wasn't guaranteed the win. This happened to Noel Fielding more than once since he often had a really strong lead, and it's also theorised the 5-syllable task was changed so Paul Sinha could win an episode.
I can't believe it took all of them so long to get goosebumps. I can give myself goosebumps in like 5 seconds just by touching my own upper arm with my horribly cold hands that have never been warm in my entire life.
I don't understand why none of them considered getting goosebumps by finding something similar to a feather and rubbing against the back of their necks... I mean, if done right even your nails will do. It was the very first idea that came to my head...
GREAT episode this week! Old Goosebump Arm's reaction to the telephone task was incredibly relatable. She should have gotten more points for her prize tasks throughout the series as well imo.
Guz's phone call with his friend still has me in stitches. "He didn't even get any GCSEs and he knows what a harmonica is!" And poor, poor Victoria. I completely sympathise with her. I'd probably do the same.
I think at this point, all the contestants should know well enough to warn their closest friends and family in advance - "I'm going to be filming for Taskmaster the next few weeks, so if you receive a strange phone call from me, just roll with it & don't ask any questions"
I think it has been mentioned that it isn't "next few weeks" but one day here, one there - wikipedia says that about one episode a day. I imagine their calendar looks like "Monday this panel, Tuesday that show, Wednesday taskmaster, Thursday interview" etc, and nobody really keeps track of exactly where they are on whiich day. If I called anybody at any time they would think there was some big emergency because all my normal communication is asynchronous these days...
I always knew I had that ability, I just hadn't known that not everybody did before the show was aired. I was sort of competing and after having the goosebumps after 5 seconds, I was expecting the same mix of muscle tension and focusing from our honoured contestants. Seeing that none of them did so, I got a scent and found that "voluntary control of (or controlled) piloerection", as it's named in science, is owned only by one in every 1500 people. And actually, this phenomenon should not exist at all considering the layout of our neuron network. So we're aliens. Or reptilians. Or both.
I've used to staying away from anything that I could choke on during the tasks, but it's just learnt at 4:48 that drinks are not recommended even during the warming up.
Was about to say that this series, Alex wasn’t being used as much in the tasks and then the goosebumps task appears. But yeah, still not much Alex action this series as compared to previous ones.
Well, this was filmed during Covid times, probably that's why. (Also, this cast is just way too nice to really torture Alex. The only one I can imagine doing it is Morgana. Maybe.)

-) The 10-point studio task with no reason not to make it a regular 5-pointer
-) The negative 5 points from the double negative task where usually it would be just zero
-) The double 0 points team task (100 balls) where one team scored negative one while the other scored in the negative hundreds
If the scoring weren't as weird this season (remember, there was only one task outside the 1-2-3-4-5 structure before this season and it was wildly criticized for it), Alan would be deservedly in fourth place, Guz at third and the two definitely strongest contestants, Morgana and Desiree battling out almost neck and neck.
You guys hit it out of the park with this series. great cast and tasks. Will be hard to beat it. It's set the bar.
I can't believe it took all of them so long to get goosebumps. I can give myself goosebumps in like 5 seconds just by touching my own upper arm with my horribly cold hands that have never been warm in my entire life.
So sad this series will be over so soon! Genuinely is one of the highlights of my week every time.
I don't understand why none of them considered getting goosebumps by finding something similar to a feather and rubbing against the back of their necks... I mean, if done right even your nails will do. It was the very first idea that came to my head...
25:09 is such a nice portrait. Alan standing with the back towards the Walky, with the head tilted up and the giant box in front of his eyes XD
GREAT episode this week!
Old Goosebump Arm's reaction to the telephone task was incredibly relatable. She should have gotten more points for her prize tasks throughout the series as well imo.
This has been a really good series massively thanks to the cast. Props to everyone.
Desi eating the chips, takin the wine shots, and pocketing coins at the end is fabulous.
Guz's phone call with his friend still has me in stitches. "He didn't even get any GCSEs and he knows what a harmonica is!"
And poor, poor Victoria.
"and dont repeat the words I say"
I think it has been mentioned that it isn't "next few weeks" but one day here, one there - wikipedia says that about one episode a day. I imagine their calendar looks like "Monday this panel, Tuesday that show, Wednesday taskmaster, Thursday interview" etc, and nobody really keeps track of exactly where they are on whiich day.
If I called anybody at any time they would think there was some big emergency because all my normal communication is asynchronous these days...
Thanks to this episode I've realised that I have the extraordinary talent of summoning goose bumps on command :P
Or both.
Thank you for making this video available in the US!!! Ya’ll are one of my favorite TV shows 😂❤
I've used to staying away from anything that I could choke on during the tasks, but it's just learnt at 4:48 that drinks are not recommended even during the warming up.
You only have yourself to blame, really, should have known better. Mindig eléggé köpködős volt a show.
A couple years later and i still see Victoria being referred to as Old Goosbump Arm on the regular. I think it's time to up those points.
morgana looking gooooooooorgeous! I don't want this season to be over, it's been bloody brilliant!
She always does look better than every other human and I like her anyway. Well done.
I think it's incredibly sweet that Alan Davies is genuinely extremely bad at smirking, it really doesn't come naturally to him
I'd give everything I own to have a pint with this series' cast, and I don't even like beer.
Can't believe it's almost over. This season has been excellent.
Old Goosebump arm got quite unlucky in some of the tasks.
Maybe.)
@@rkah6187 yeah there’s that too! I guess I just missed seeing Alex being exploited in the tasks 😂
He did have that football task, though. The most he’s participated in.
I *love* the fact that Alan is wearing a Dignity shirt underneath his dignity jumper!
Easily the best duck sliding I've ever watched. Absolutely thrilling.
I think Victoria rang Neil Channing another poker player, sounded like him
Sorry who? …ohhh you mean old goosebumparm
Last season's games really stunk up the place, but they've come back this season with a real vengeance.
I loved the „hide and seek" task in the Swedish Taskmaster show, so great to see you play it as well!
thank you for always uploading them so quickly! :)
Guz Khan's chaotic energy lobbing a tennis ball at his nan is the funniest thing I've seen in months
"It's really urgent shit, man, it's really urgent shit!"
*Yawns for ten seconds*
imagine a friend to whom you havent talked to for ages and they just randomly calls you and yawns for 10 secinds and then hangs up.
Dear Taskmaster, please award Old Goosebump Arm points. Xx
